@Spanishbass I agree with you I play on a 6 stringed BTB Ibanez, and I never enjoy the tone. Then you get to hear other bassists on youtube and the tone sounds much more groovy and nice
BTB have 35" scale necks, ideal for low tunings like low B or A. a 35" 4string for slapping makes for a super awesome experience. Only gripe (and this is the 3rd time I'm posting this;) MAKE sure all the screws are tightened especially at the bridge and neck, (even if you have to set superglue in the holes first, if stripped). Maybe their fine in the States, but I found all of them in Africa, UK and Europe to have poorly tightened screws. (it makes a HUGE diffirence in sustain) ; D
Nearly the entire BTB line, except for the BTB 200 is active. BTW, I'm looking into my first five string in the 26 years I've been playing. It's the BTB 575 which is a neck-through model.

nah man the btb line has 18v pre amp, the pick ups are all passive unfortunately, unless there the top end bartollis or emgs
