It was Fleur De Lys. They thought the "A" side was too close to "Whiter shade of pale" in chord progression, and told the producer to take their name off it. This version of "Hold on" is the original one. Sharon Tandy loved it, so it was done again with her on the flipside of "Stay with me".

In fact haveing re read FENTER had the idea for them put this out under the name Ruperts People , the A side was a Whiter Shade of Pale . This was the B side . Line up for single Bryn Hayworth .Lead Guitar . Gordon Haskel .Bass Keith Guster . Drums Pete Solley . Keybords Chris Andrews . Vocals. Normal line up Chris Andrews .Vocals Guitar Bryn Haworth . Guitar Gordon Haskel . Bass Pete Sears . Keybords Keith Guest . Drums .
I have the Ruperts album "The Magical World Of Ruperts People" and the A side was according to the sleeve notes "Reflections Of Charles Brown" which has the same Bach type melody as "Whiter Shade Of Pale" but is a totally different song. Ruperts People carried on in their own right after this, with different members (ie not Les Fluer De Lys) and recorded amongst others the Brit pysche classic "Dream In My Mind"
