  • Should that not be multiplied by 30? XD

  • which song is that?

  • @Dulbeks It's a hymn called "Jerusalem", based on a poem by William Blake.

  • I like the fact that noone knew how to end this scene after "That is my only line!!" so they just hoped for inspiration at the time.... and inspiration they got, from Graham, by him starting to jump ^^ (John Cleese was the first to follow in the jumpin *thumbs up*)

  • 8 people said mattress to Lambert

  • This is exactly what it's like working at Wal-Mart!!!

  • Now I've got to stand in the tea chest.

  • Comedy + Surrealism = Monty Python

Quiz Shows + Dadaism = Shooting Stars

  • I have a request. Spell "Monty" correctly in the title.

  • @Bucca987

No! Please, don’t correct! This clip came up after Tommy James & The Shondells – ”Mony Mony” :)

  • "But it's my only line!"

btw, John Cleese facepalm at 4:18

  • if the guy who multiplied everything by 10 said to multiply the other guy's numbers by 3 shouldn't it be actually by 0.3?

  • Heh your right, ofcourse he also said 2 twice when he should have said 20:D Guess sometimes its too random even for the Pythons themselves.

  • @ABhaim He should've told the couple to multiply it by 30 even though it was really 3.

  • doing this in drama... this is how it should be done, eh?

  • Where's the t in Mony Python?

  • @SheledUmlal in python i guess xD

  • It's so amazingly random!

  • Yes, I'd like to look at the dog kennels please!

  • BUT IT'S MY ONLY LINE!!!!!!

  • "now ive got to stand in the tea chest" brilliant

  • doesnt get much better then that

  • hey python fans, what is the name of the song they sing in this sketch?

  • "Jerusalem", by William Blake, I believe

  • "Jerusalem", music by Hubert Parry, lyrics by William Blake from his poem "And did those feet in ancient time".

  • "Did you say mattress?"

    "A little, yes."

  • very funny

  • Be a cunt about it why don't ya.

  • Yea. GTFO

  • aaaaah one of my favorites :) but what is the song they sing for lambert?

  • The poem "And did those feet in ancient time" by William Blake.

  • Jerusalem

  • Jerusalem, methinks.

  • Eric Idle is sooooo cute!!!

    Very funny too!!!

  • This sketch is borderline insanity and it's frickin great.

  • lmao XD did anyone else nearly wee themselves laughing at eric idle's face when he says "He puts a bag over his face." hehehehe

  • lmao....

  • "we want a matresse"

"Oh! why'd ya say that for?!"

    "It's my only line!"

OMG LMAO I THINK IM GONNA DIE FROM LAUGHING!

  • oh my god!!

    hilarious

  • One funny thing to consider:

    at 1:55 when he says

"You have to multiply everything Mr.Lanbert says by three"... doesn't he mean multiply by 0.3? ...oh so confusing!

  • even if it is times three, at the beginning he should have said "multiplied by 3.333..." instead of "multiplied by 10"...

  • true, though we poor viewers would have been completely lost. those inadequacies aare even more crazy and fun! gotta love the mad geniuses!

  • I went and downloaded that hymn they sang in the tea chest.

  • What is it?

  • "Jerusalem."

  • .... I did ask you not to say mattress didn't I..... this is just classic!!

  • Aaaaaaaaamen.

  • geniusssssss :)

  • rofl

  • ~Genius.

  • did you say mattress to mr. lambert!? now I have to stand in the tea chest! monty python is hilarious!!!!!!!!!! I love them to death!

  • LOL But its my only line! LOL

  • It's so pointless

    I love it!

  • what did she say at end?

  • iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

  • "but it's my only line!"

  • Somebody said "matress" to Mr. Lambert! Twice!

  • I've never seen this sketch before... I love it!

  • I love the guy strangling his wife at the beginning. Lol

  • i think thats because the last wife said matress to mr lambert

  • loved it :D

  • would you help these 20 good people here.lol

  • Why did they hop at the end? Um.

  • I dunno. Maybe it goes like this: The first time you say "mattress", you have to sing whilst standing in a crate. The second time, thousands of people have to sing. The third time, you hop.

  • That... is insane.

  • This show is insane. I just built a theory around the already-existent insanity.

  • Lauren, I think it may actually have been their way of expressing absolute frustration and despair. It DID, after all, take a whole city square full of people to get him out the previous time.... Nice try, though. XD

  • *shrugs* :-) Oh, well.

  • I'm guessing they weren't sure how to end the sketch, so they decided to end it in a very random, very silly way. It's one of my favorite endings to a Monty Python sketch.

  • Monty Python always does that.

  • @ErichoTTA what ;p

  • The first narrator is Gilliam I take it?

  • lol genius.. pure genius

  • When he says the bes is 2feet wide, it is in fact, 60feet wide XD

  • "why'd you say that for"

    "but its my only line"

  • i lol'd XD

  • lol THAT was insane ^^.

  • love this

  • lol what song does Eric sing in the beginning? and then proceed to sing throughout the skit?

  • "And did those feet in ancient time", also called "Jerusalem".

  • "But it's my only line!" LMAO XD

  • dont say matress or hell put a bag over his head xD

  • wow

  • epic

  • Please upload the Toothy Film Director sketch, with that guy with tall buck teeth.

  • YES! I love this one.

  • I love it when the Colonel shows up after this sketch, and the whole episode he keeps talking about the sketches getting too silly.

Eric sang that song in Owl-Stretching Time, didn't he?

    2:32 Carol's semi-famous giggle

  • OMG upload the hospital for overacting!

  • How about uploading the one with the British Army's 1st Kamikaze Regiment?

  • "Hey everybody ! somebody said mattress to mr Lambert-TWICE !!!!!!"

  • "Now i've got to stand in the tea chest." LMAO everytime !

  • Oh, in case nobody knows this, the names Mr. Verity and Mr. Lambert are a reference to the British TV producer Verity Lambert. She most famously produced Doctor Who.

  • Go to 3:55, then 2 seconds later, he says "Why, yes" really high.

  • I love Carol and Graham's twitters!!

  • BUT ITS MY ONLY LINE!

  • ahhhhhhhhhh i love them!

  • STFU noob

  • Theyre singing New Jerusalem, Sweepingreaper

  • ROFL! ah :P monthy pyhton truly is the best XD

  • HAHAHAHAHAHA!

  • "Now I've got to stand in the tea kettle!"

    "But it's my only line!"

    I love Carol's screech at 5:07!

  • omg the ending is weird

  • All the hopping lol

  • lol

  • Funny funny funny funny.

  • Actually, Eric Idle made a mistake in his dialogue. He should say that everything Mr. Lambert says should be multiplied by thirty, not three. And Chapman should say that everything Mr. Verity says is three-and-a-third times too high, not ten. Other than that, a good sketch, but not as good as the one that is coming up in this episode.

  • How do you know that?

  • he was joking, are u impervious to sarcasm or simply ignorant?

  • that's not right...you need to take into account the order of equations. If the bed really was 6 ft wide, The taller guy would say it was 60ft wide, and the smaller guy 2ft wide. So, if the small guy said the bed was 2 ft wide, the tall guy would account for his error (x3), then add his own (x10) making 60ft.

  • no, because for Idle six feet is in fact sixty feet

  • When in a awesome sketch, own language rules are made. Stop arguing about something funny
