  • hey i just got the app for my droid 2 and im having a bit of a problem. it seems i cant view all the files on my phone. its stuck in some directory that i dont have any clue where its located. im just really confused because im trying to locate pictures and i cant find anything.

    please help

  • @danman51992 ok so its not just astro. it seems all i can see with any 3rd party file manager is a set of files ranging from acct - tmp but they have no correlation to the main SD card files... im so lost

  • @danman51992 Press the home button in astro, make sure you select the folder called sdcard if it dumps you in /mnt if that doesn't work.

  • @wimervision that did it. thx. idk what the problem was before because i thought i had done that.

    thank you again!

  • Excuse me, I was just wondering....

Say if i downloaded an application like a game and it saved it to my phone memory...about 100mb say?

Which one would I click to transfer that game application to my SD card???

    Reply soon please.

  • @becksy6 That requires Android 2.2 and the developer to enable move to sdcard. The move to sd card feature is in the system/applications/manage menu on the phone if you have 2.2

  • @wimervision Im planning on buying an android phone

I was looking at the LG Optimus GT540 because it is in my price budget...

But the phone only has 170MB of internal memory....

It sucks to hear this because LG Optimus is running android 1.6 and will soon be updated to 2.1

Do you know any apps that could possibly move it to SD Card

Or any other phones in my price range of £120 or below?? Thanks

  • @becksy6 It requires 2.2 to move to SDCard. Also it's not a good idea to buy a phone that has a promise to be upgraded soon because soon takes so much longer than you would think. You may want to look at the LG Optimus One or LG Optimus Chic which launch in the next month or two as they come with 2.2 by default. I'm not sure of the their pricing yet but the optimus one will most likely be the cheapest.

  • @wimervision I dont really mind about which android its on tbf, I dont mind if its on android 1.6 for a few extra months before they upgrade it.

Ive already brought a few accessories for the Optimus GT540 so i cant really change my mind :)

Im just hopeing all the apps I have will fit onto my 170MB of Internal Memory...

Thanks For The Help Mate :)

  • Any chance on getting a tutorial on how to set up SMB sharing?

  • @Lilhawke I'll add that to the list.

  • @wimervision Right on! Thanks!

  • make a startup for your youtube channel

  • Steve my internal phone storage is down to 4.6 MB. My phone is rooted. How can I move some of my games to my sdcard using Astro file manager. Have no idea where they are located. Drives me nuts. Looks like linux all over again. Thanks

  • @delinquentminded This application doesn't do that and the current version of Android doesn't support that either. In the coming weeks version 2.2 should launch which will allow you to move to sdcard.

  • @delinquentminded What rom are you using? And what phone?

  • Thank you. This really helps.

  • THANK YOU so much for this tutorial. I was desperate to figure out how the hell to get ringtones that I saved to the card to work on the phone, and now I was able to do so.

    Works great. Very easy.

  • @drawnhere No problem. I didn't think this was successful enough to make more but maybe I will now.

  • Good video... thanks!
