Just FYI, I've spent some time in Africa and I know for a fact that it takes lions hours to kill their prey. They kill the animals through suffocation by litterally laying on the animal. But, they don't wait for the animal to die to dig in. They truly are ruthless killers. They are fabulous animals. I have had the privilege of seeing 3youg male lions attack a herd of impala literally 20 feet from where I was. It is amazing watching them work.

Actually, the males do hunt. Young male lions are kicked out of the pride of their birth, and they have to fend for themselves until they can develop their own pride. The young males form little bachelor groups, and they hunt as a team. Once they have their own pride, the lionesses do most, if not all, of the hunting.
