  • Nice moonwalk :D

  • Breaking yeah breaking your back!

  • I'm surprised you didn't show the breakdance variation for men (B skill I think)

  • if you retard were gymnasts or knew ANYTHING bout gymnastics you would know this is NOT breakdanceing its called, SKILLS, DANCE, & COOL MOVES to make the judges look, and to STAND OUT , this isnt breakdancing you fools!!!!!!!

  • 0:44 thanks god she's not a man xD

  • the girl at 0:21 did the backspin thats breakdancing

  • the girl from 1:21 KILLED IT

  • 0:45 if that was a guy, his nuts would have cracked!

  • what's the name of the female college gymnast that breakdances in her floor routine.

  • Omg. I love this!

Haha i am an over obseses gymnast!!!!

    And i cant spell!

  • My friend in my gym used to do the worm either in her beam routine or her floor routine.. I can't remember..

  • The breakdance come out of gymnastics .. What do you think ?

  • in reality its actually the other way around, gymnastics in break dancing.

  • on walk at 1:28

  • Comment removed

  • i said "ooooo she moonwalkin!!!"

  • by the time your finished reading this you will see a moonwalk on the vid

  • heehheh nice video, though there are some parts that make me laugh XD

  • whats the song?

  • my fav<3 :D

  • :43, 2:56, 3:04,, 3:14 and the last one. pretty gnarly. They are all phenomananananal, so nobody is singled out. Id love a few flexible concubines to teach me dance lessons I never would have attempted otherwise(keep your mind out tha "gutter").You could call em friends, but they deserve more honor than that. .

Anyways, great job. Be careful, stay warmed up. It pulls my mid hammi just lookin at some of those moves.Rep Christ, real music, real expression, always love. Myspace: Advocacy to Jesus

  • i always new they were very similar

    but damn

  • its not supposed to be "BREAKDANCE IN GYMNASTICS" ,It supposed to be "GYMNASTICS IN BREAKDANCE" because majority of some breakdance comes from gymnastics moves

  • @IchLiebenBill not the majority, just a couple. Can you name breakdance elements taken from gymnastics? I can name many original breakdance elements, not from gym.

  • oh shit its chun le! 2:30

  • 1:38 is Natalia Kalinina (USSR) @ 1990 Goodwill Games

2:57 is Lu Li (CHN) @ 1992 Olympics

And BTW, I KNOW most of this isn't breakdance at all, but in 2004-2005 when I made it I thought it was. And at the time I also didn't know a lot about gymnastics either compared to now. Still think this montage is fun to watch though. But keep the comments coming, I can learn a lot about breaking from it!

  • @SofkeGW That is my coach Natalia Kalinina and now she is known as Natasha! Now she is also an accountent. She was my coach for 4 years and tought me everything i Know

  • @SofkeGW

Some of it is breakdancing or rather the moves exist in both gymnastics and dance. For example the first move is called a flare. Still a nice montage though :]

  • @SofkeGW Natalia Kalinnina's got them moves

  • who is at 1:38??

  • Tell me someone's already mentioned that flares actually originated FROM gymnastic.. not breakin. lol

  • @1:49 WTF?

  • @sami7798 I love that move. I WTF'd too

  • who is that at 2:57 please??

  • Some of these are a bit of a stretch but Kalinina? Nothing she did on floor resembles the decades of break dancing I've been watching.

  • So fucking sweet at 2:57

  • Zamo is my favorite. Her routines were always funny to watch and very incredible !

  • THAT WAS ENTERTAINING

  • that girl that was in the blue and white she jumped then did the splits then did a flip thjat crazy

  • I think that a lot of moves aren´t brake dance, e.g. the first 0:01 - 0:08 is only excercise from gymnastics horse etc..

  • @12zuzka12 Flares are bboy, definitely.

  • @disaznboii19148 Flares were created in gymnastics, they are used in bboying :P Same goes for airflares

  • @williamb57 I'm aware

  • @disaznboii19148 Sorry, kinda misconstrued what you meant. Thought you meant bboys made it up, my bad

  • their angles are soooooo perfect its so redicolous

  • all the people who say ohh thats gay and stuff then why r u watching it i mean u must be retarded then!!!!

  • that switch split jump thing at :43 is absolutely crazy

  • @oden177 Elena Produnova.. she was amazing.

  • moonwalk attempts look really gay , and gymnastic is ga

  • your a bitch. gymnastics is the best. it it was easy they'd call it soccer. it's not easy and you have to have talent to do it. so why do't you shutup

  • @shawnjohnsonlover12 Soccer IS NOT easy! You also have to have a lot of talent to play it and the top level. I love gymnasticsbut soccer is just as hard and actually more competitive, especially since there are more people in the sport.

  • Comment removed

  • @1090larennedufoot I know i was just pissed at that other person for saying that

  • @1090larennedufoot i respect ur opinion but i do not think that soccer is harder than gymnastics. gymnastics take grace strength abillity power and much more including ur lifes effort to work hard and appreciate the life skill. now as u say soccer is not easy and its the same with gymnastics thank u for ur time

  • @samalhoodman2 Ga? Really? What a horrible insult. Maybe you should learn how to spell three-letter words before you insult a difficult sport.

  • At 2:02 ; it's not a figure of break dance but of gymnastics !!!

  • now this is breakdancing

  • LOOOOOOL

  • boring

  • lol loved the moonwalk

  • whoops didnt mean to thumbs down this comment

  • at 1:29 wow

  • So how many points is the moonwalk worth?

  • @phyzxman probably had points deducted lolol

  • 0:46 is amazing at the 2000 olympics

  • lol now this is awesome! its soo tight!

lol btw that moonwalk never gets old! xD

  • In fact rather Gymnasitc IN Breakdance and no the contrary.

    Brief nevertheless it's coool !!!

  • copy and past plzz look at the videos mad skills part 2 by gymgirl783

  • have you not been laid in a while?

  • tru bboys, arent professional ,tru bboys hace toprock and footwork, and basics rite instead of airtracks without indian step.

  • Omg, I am just shocked at how good some people are :S Its insane, awesome, but insane

  • Bickering back and forth over which is better is silly and is not going to to advance either side. It's apples and oranges with different focuses, still both could stand to learn more from each other.

What I would like to see is more (I know there are plenty) bboys working on proper/cleaner technique as emphasized in gymnastics. I am also curious why I have yet to see a gymnast incorporate a (multiple spin)1990 or airflare into their routine, come on shake up the conventions a little bit.

  • Morgan Hamm did actually put airflares into his floor routine, but he is the first and only one so far as far as i know.

  • i don't understand why NO AIRFLARES!! serisly where did that move come from

and1990's aren't generally clean which is very important for gym

  • A lot of Bboy power moves have no Gymnastic origin. Of course the "Flare" and Circles were taken from gymnastics but Windmills, Airflares, 1990's, 2000's, Turtles, Crickets, Jackhammers, Darkhammers, Headspins, Shoulderspins, Backspins, Swipes, and even Sidespins were not taken from gymnastics. Flips for sure were around before gymnastics and as well were handstands.

  • Comment removed

  • this aint breaking

  • low coindrop womr :D

  • i love when gymanstics use cool intertaining moves like these....it shows skills because u need to have the strength to do alot of "breakdancing" moves

  • the bit the men do is not breakdancing, its what they do on pommels and is a higher skill on floor

  • so windmill and zulo spin

  • lol the creator of the vidis dumb, breakdancingis a hiphopversion of gymnastics, breakdancing get most of itsmoves fromgymnastics

  • hell no

  • Ok andrew7913. I think you owe SofkeGW an apology for saying that.

And I have to disagree with you saying breakdancing is a hip hop version of gymnastics. Gymnastics is so much more structured and the caliber of the tumbling skills used in gymnastics are much higher than those used in tumbling.

  • u shouldread therestof mycomment where i said "breakdancing get most of itsmoves fromgymnastics "

meaning breakdancing takes moves from gymnastics not the other way around.

way to make urself look dumb

any high caliber Bboy can compete in gymnastic competitions and prolly do well where as gymnists would get dominated in a bboy battle

  • no he can't he won't be able to do bars, floor, rings, vault, and parallel bars. He might be good at pommel horse but that will be it.

    how can you can that

  • *how can you call that competing with gymnasts. that's more like being thrown into shark infested waters with a rubber duck as your flotation device.

  • i obviously mean floor

but u can think what u like, any real gymnist will tell u tehre techniques r very similar and any real Bboy will tell u alot of there moves originate from gymnastics

  • Umm... so? YOU SAID that break dancing is a hip hop form of gymnastics. And that's not accurate at all since no break dancers can perform what gymnasts can. Duh

  • a gymnast flare and a bboy's flare are the same, a gymnast invented the flare, but thats all.

  • xDDD omg b-boys wouldn't stand a chance xD

  • haha maybe

  • i dont think you have any idea how hard some of the stuff we gymnastics to. iv never seen a "b-boy" in a fucking split! iv been doing it for years and cant. and since girls are more naturally flexible. dancing is just what makes the tricks look good and did you even notice all the high straight leg spilts and jumps?

    i didnt think so.

  • Check "Fanatic vs Kikis" and youll see bboy splits.

  • :44 holy crap

  • LOL love the moonwalking, elena zamo is so awesome

  • me too.... she's hip but still awsomely old school..

  • cool at 1:30

  • I loved the worm moves and the moonwalk. They were awesome. I think those who break away from the traditional monotonous moves will go far, because they're not afraid of what people think of them. For those of you who think that girl was crazy for moonwalking, she has a gold medal, and you don't. :-P

  • Bellissimo

  • ca ddebboite

  • if u look at the crowd no one is laughing

  • the moonwalking at 1:31 must be some kind of joke; no one in their right mind would do that in a routine, I bet the audience were laughing at her

  • lol ur right!! who would do that in a routine!

  • are you kidding?!?!?!? its elena zamolodchikova... thats her trademark move!!

  • Who is at 1:22 She's same like 2:54?

  • Yes, that's the same gymnast. It's Elena Zamolodchikova from Russia, who won Olympic gold in 2000 on vault and floor.

  • Thanx a lot!!!

  • Who is at 2:20?

  • Daniela Silivas from Romania at the 1988 Olympics (she got 2nd AA)

  • lol... i do break dance and Gymnastics lmao!

  • The moves came from gymnastics so...

  • NO, the POWER moves derived from gymnastics. There's a huge difference.

  • Love the crazy flarez and air flarez, looks better than bboys XD

  • Ughh i wihs i never quit gymnastics. :(

  • i love the moonwalk :)

  • 0:46 ehmagawd that had to hurt baaad!

  • Both codes have always been exciting to watch good to see gymnasts getting something back from bboyin as it did do alot for Breakin"bboying"

  • There is this one girl from UGA who moonwalks on beam!

  • ahahaa that one chick is moon walking.

  • shiit:O theyr good:P

  • who is on 1:50

  • Wahts The Move Called That's At 1:59 && 2:45?

&& Also The Other Move At 3:28?

    Thanxs. =]

  • russian circles...

    dunno...

  • 1:50 :L:L:L

  • brilliabnt theyre amazing who is the last gymnast??? xxx

  • aswome!!! the moonwalk was amazing!!

  • song? someone please tell me =[

  • Music is 'Breakin' by Leki, a Belgian singer.

there are in the information of the video xD

  • it's nice .... I am gymnast and breaker !!.... niiiiiiceeeeeeeee !!!!

  • last girl killed it.

  • flares ain't break dancing...

  • i think it is but wen break dancers do it it looks cooler they do it wierd

  • very well done!

  • Lol @ the moonwalk.

  • lol flares are easy for gymnastic ppl...cause they're flexible and powerful

  • excellent fun vid. the last gymnast was not playing at all!!

  • alright for the moonwalk!!!

  • it does remind me of breakdancing sometimes

  • Wow, i like it

    I am b-boy (breaker)

    NICE xD

  • some of this isnt even bboying.....

  • The girls are dancing because is choreographed to the music, although some parts did look like it. And the guys didn't do any break dancing, flares, circles, etc where in gymnastics long before that in Breakdancing.

  • Hey thanks!

  • Hey... I want 2 know da name of dis song?

  • The song is called 'Breakin' and is sung by Leki, a Belgian singer.

  • headline should in a way be gymnastics in breakdance, cause most of these moves probably were first used in gymnastics because it existed before breakdancing

  • luv that move at 0:43 !

  • did u see zamolochikova's smile when she was moonwalking??! awesome!!

  • i know that's cool

i wanna do the moon walk in my routine ;)

  • terrible music :D

  • MOONWALKING finally but im waiting for airflares

  • im a bboy...and the set from 0:27 to 0:31 was fucking sick as hell.

  • this isn't breakdancing. it's gymnastics!

  • Indeed, I adjusted the title a few times so I hope it makes sense now ;-)

  • think it is gymnastic and not breakdance

  • Gymnasts are the best!!!!!

  • well gymnastics may have been around before breakdancing but none can argue that some the moves that have been used in this vid probably were inspired by breakdancing...hell one girl was moonwalking, another one was even appearing to be pop-locking...but all in all they both take great strenght....but i am waiting for the day that one gymnist does a head spin, that would be awesome. anywhoo i say appreciate both artforms and let them appreciate each other

  • Lilia Podkopayeva kind of did a head spin on beam in 1994.

  • Actually, gymnastics was way before breakdance. Breakdance came from pommel horse/men's gymnastics.

    Okay?

You shouldn't say breakdance in gymnastics, you should say gymnastics is dance.

    LoL.

    just saying

  • Exactly.

  • i think bboying is more fun to watch, because its a lot more creative. It's about what the individual is capeble of doing. In gymnastics, creating your own moves is not really much of an option... plus bboys/girls are very strong and flexible as well

  • thanks for the music ;)

  • what is the name of the song on this video please ?

  • 'Breakin' by Leki. She's a Belgian artist.

  • 0:45 who is that?

  • Elena Produnova from Russia.

  • Very cool

  • There,s alot of 'Thomas flares' in here as if it was adapted from B-Boying..it wasn,t, actualy the other way around.Gymnastics had more influence on B-Boying then the other way around.

  • who's the girl at 0:43 - 0:50 ? if possible let me know in a message ;)

  • Elena Produnova

  • What is the name of the gymnast who does the moonwalk?

  • Elena Zamolodchikova, Russian and double Olympic champion in Sydney

  • It's true, it's not all breakdance-influenced (that's why the comment also said 'cool moves'). Unfortunately, there aren't many routines that had some breakdance in it. Plus I made it in the pre-Youtube area, so I couldn't find all the routines that did. Actually it's just another choreo montage.
