@IamMohawk Technically the title of this video isn't misleading. it doesn't say JRT's do cartwheels and triple back flips and then awesomely murder a chipmunk. It says JRTs in action, the action meaning letting instinct kick in and trying to make a kill. "Hunting down a chipmunk". The act of hunting doesn't = a kill - stop being a fucking moron.
they're an awesome squirrel dog too, they keep them in the trees for easy hunting, the squirrel watches the dog and not the hunter, you get the dog to stay on one side and you go on the other, the squirrel will go to your side and boom.
only downside is I can't in good conscience get one, coyotes are rampant in my area and I'd hate to have it killed by a coyote due to their size.
@IamMohawk - they do catch a chippie once in a while, but not in that video... not too long ago they were violently running around another rock on our property so I went to get camera (that is always ready to take pictures and videos) and before I returned the black one caught one - it was matter of about 20 seconds... the chippie could not take the stress under the rock and started running to another hide out, but didn't make it :-(
it made me upset - I love our chippies, but I love our dogs 2
It's great to see you have your Jacks off leash doing what they love to do. There are too many JR owners that should not be JR owners. Check out my Jack Ozzie digging out a gopher

Sounds like you reward your dogs for failure. Where are the damn chipmunks?
MichaelWinstonEsq 3 years ago
Due to the stupid laws of this once fantastic country (UK), it is now illegal to hunt with more than 2 hounds!!!! New Labour = New Danger!

JRTS are the most awesome hunters out there. They WILL burrow to chase anything down.
vikesh81 3 years ago 9
It has nothing to do with food. Its genetic programing through breeding. Thats what JRs are bred to do. They do it well and are the smartest.
