@SpidermanPlaysTama Thanks man! You should see him now after almost 3 years. He's a beast of a kid. lol. He's about as good as me even though that doesn't take much.
lol. i totally understand you..you should see how he's doing now..go to my channel page and look uner 'my son's drumming diary' and check out his talent show competition for 'my savior my God'
well, i appreciate you not blasting....now, go to my channel page, look under my son's drumming diary and look at the talent show vid for 'my savior my God' and see how far he's come in 7 mos.
Nice! I have a 7 year old brother, who also is a drummer (I have a video with him on my channel - a Blitzkrieg Bop cover, it would be great if you could tell me what you think). I know how hard it was for him to learn the basic beats, so it is really great how your son plays after 4 lessons. Anyway, my brother now learns really fast and he can play pretty complicated beats, but still, I have no idea how to teach him all those fills. He is not as good at fills as your son lol
yes, i would practice variations of the 4/4 time. try placing your kick in different spots. count 1 & 2 & 3 & 4 &, play the snare on 2 and 4 and the kick on 1 and 3 typically. move the kick to the 1 & and then & 3 &
Don't pay attention to the negatives man. It's always great to see a young child learning an instrument. I'm working on teaching my nephews how to play (Guitar and Bass) Never let em' give up. I, too hope he grows up to play for God like his dad. God Bless you and your family.
nah bro,it's all good. lol. not gonna give up b/c i see so much potential in him. i appreciate your encouragement, alot. i hope all goes well with you nephews. that takes patience. God bless you my friend!
wtf dont get mad at me but wow that wasnt good at all its a simple beat and he cant evan stay on it! i know what you gonna say..."dude he has only had 4 lessons" or "dude he is good for his age and amount of experience" but no he is not this was a waste of youtube space
first off i don't appreciate you implying the 'f' word concerning my son. secondly, nah dude, not gonna get mad. you're an immature 14 yr. old who doesn't have any vids of himself playing drums for us to critique. speaking of youtube waste space, i personally believe your whole page is a waste of space. maybe if your page glorified God then it would be another story. maybe if your heart was right you could see something positive in this vid or offer encouragement. not bashing, just stating facts
yeah, that's bound to happen w/ only 4 lessons. lol. plus the cam didn't help by making him nervous. thought he did an excellent job, despite those things
we don't want the kid getting confused, you wouldn't want him to start on a double peddle after only 4 lessons, i'd wait maybe a couple years when he has the single bass down, but man i couldn't do that for prolly the first couple weeks of playing drums he'll definitely get good
I have encountered many people around the age of 14 that find what he has just done the hardest thing ever! Whatever you do, make sure he keeps playing!
he has amazed me too! he had a lesson yesterday and surprised his teacher. he didn't get to practice much this past week either, but we sat down and practiced for about 45 min.last night as we usually try to do most nights. i usually give him wed. and sun. off to not get him burned out
lan da man's gonna be a chip off the old block someday, eh? yeah huh, one can just see the God-given talent waiting to be nurtured. a young gun for Christ!
oh great!!! just like his dad, particularly in the end ;) lol. Landon: Keep up this wonderful work!!! My church is waiting for you ;) and Stan: keep up being such a great dad!!!
EXCELLENT! Exclellent beginner... he has some hesitation at some, but still he is the best 7 yo. drummer around and maybe to be known! Maybe he could once be as GREAT as you!
We have God alone to count on that, but I alone know that he will be AWESOME! and start his own christian band!
hey David, thanx for those kind words. yeah, i was kinda not understanding his hesitation(i think it was the cam. rolling) and he also missed some double kicks on this vid that he usually does well. i think it was nerves, but yeah, can't wait to look back and see how far God has brought him
Your son has talent and good timing. God Bless him.

Hello sir! lol.
I don't know if you ever tried this before I'm sure you've heard it but if you havent you can learn it along with ur son!
try this quick fill that sounds awesome!
It has to be fast also.
Bass drum, Floor Tom, Snare.
So Kick, Right, Left.
and your hands should almost be a flam ur snare is slightly delayed.
If you don't know what I mean I can send you a video I have of another guy playing one of his bands songs and I could send you the url in a message!!
