  • Green Yammo fuckin' rocks!!

  • thanks for share!

  • The 10mns it took my tape player to load the game were so worth it. It may be the first game I have ever completed. I was 7.

  • I think I remember this game... I def. remember Karateka and Dig-Dug on the Atari, but something about this game feels really familiar. I wish I could remember these more vividly, but I was about 4, so what can I do? lol

  • Best thing about this game was you could play it 2p, one guy as bruce and one as the sumo wrestler.

  • i loved to play as sumo and kick my friends asses :) gr8 game

  • I specifically searched for this game in google and landed ere, was hoping to find re-written version for PC or flash

Also I just realized how much older I got... depressing

  • The main menu screen should be on a fucking T-shirt..

  • Great to see this again. My buddy and I use to race home from school to play this game. We loved to make The Green Yamo make that moan sound by pulling down and to the right or left on the joystick!

  • Great memories and a great game; except when it crashed!

  • You've got be shitting me. Classic! Hahhahahhaha. I haven't seen this in 32 years! Hhahahahahah.

  • LOL,it was so slow this game, when he fell or kicked it was like he floating through the air

  • OMG!!! I HAVENT SEEN THIS IN OVER 25 YEARS...........GREEN YAMMO ROCKS!!!

  • Nice. This was the first game I ever beat. I made my brother give me his coin collection to reveal how to beat the final screen. which was " run continuously through without stopping". ingeniuous. lol.

  • I played that game! I rocked on this!

  • that ninja was such a pussy

  • Wow - I remember copying this game, using cassette to cassette.

  • Esse jogo é igual ao do TK 90 X pqno micro da decada de 80!

  • This game is made of pure win.

  • I remember playing this game back in the day on my Atari 800XL. It was a fun game and I did manage to reach the ending. Sometimes i would have a friend play the green guy and he would help with the ninja.

  • do tej pory jak mam chwile to gram w BRUCE LEE:)

  • I preferred the C64 version.

  • @Sal1981 I would say it was identical to the C64 version probably uses the exact same code in fact

  • THE BURPING BULL!! (Well, that's what we called it when my friends and I were in middle school.)

  • All I can say is that no Atari game was more fun over a real long period of time and is still as enjoyable as 25 years ago! A genuine classic!

  • @darealjansolo Im in tears right now. I loved this game its so evocative it was the first video game i ever saw and seemed like a huge world of fighting and being bruce. It was 1983 or 1984 i beleive. and i was at my cousins house 5-6 kids gathered around the c64. I wasnt bothered to play just timid and awe struck in the corner. Eveything about the game was great from the cover artwork to fighting the cool green yamo. I just stopped crying in joy

  • ohh!!! the last time i saw this game i was about 6... a friend spilled juice on the game cassette... so many memories

  • 26 years and this is still the best bruce lee game

  • The Green Yamo!!!

  • i would like to play this game online somwhere. can i? could you direct me to the website or at least give me some instructions? thanks in many...

  • The very best game in atari

  • Brilliant. I loved how the Green Yamo could kick the ninja instead of you by accident!

  • Very pity indeed. Hope I will see a real longplay from Koronis Rift or Karateka here soon...

  • This game is well programmed. The Atari fell behind the C64 by about 1985 in quality games. Pity.

  • @dreamcastII

Your right but it was about late 86 when it precipitously fell off. I remember it well. Got my ST in 87 because of that.

  • Awesome game. Specially with 2players

  • Comment removed

  • I nearly died of nostalgia at the disk loading noises. It's been so long I had no idea what it was at first.

Fellow Atari 800 player here! Happy to relive it with Ultimate Bruce Lee these days.

  • Atari Forever :D

I remember that loading noise, brings back memories of lazy sunday afternoons playing M.U.L.E and Mail Order Monsters.

  • yeah and what's funny is those weren't the normal disk loading noises, that's from that POKE command, I can't remember what it was but I'm sure you remember there was a poke you could type to make it silent (poke 762, something, I think) lol

  • @gaspump

Old 800 players unite. We need to get some old skool nerds to do an open source project to add some multiplayer online capability to these old games like Bruce Lee. I have to set up an emulator and play these classics!

  • this is computer porn right here!

  • on 2 player mode that poor ninja got ass raped....

  • is there any way for someone to play this game now without having to buy an old ATARI 800XL, i used to have one, but now all that's left are the disks

  • @helshabini Just use an emulator like Atari800winplus or similar!

  • Man i had this when i was about 8 . My 800xl was chipped i think . Had hundreds of games on floppy disc! Still got it up loft.

  • On 2 player mode one player can be the gree sumo!

  • wow very old :)

    good rebember atari is classic

  • I have an Atari 800 and that has to be one of my favourite games on it, played it a lot!

    Good video

  • Que juegazo! recuerdo tardes enteras jugando con Bruce Lee! Y esos sonidos...que nostalgia!

  • There is a way to leech a LOT of points in this title during a 2-player cooperative game. It involved one player jumping off a ledge onto enemies and collecting mega points...but it's been so long I forget exactly where to do this, though.

  • DIOSSS!!! mi juego preferido de la infancia. que recuerdos!!

  • Now we are talking, what a classic game!

Me & my cousin spent so many hours playing this game that my dad come in & turned it off and made us go out on our BMX's instead.

Managed to complete it in the end (when my dad was at work!)

    Riders ready, pedals ready, go!

  • Second thoughts, no its not.

  • Its got very good AI for such an old game.

  • YEEEEES ! hated climbing, took so long ;D

  • The green fat guy was called the green Yammo. Thats what it said on the inside sleeve of the tape. HAHAHA. What a load of shite, but great at the time. Im dissapointed because I could never complete it, I'm sure that I was near the end though.

  • omg this looks like a game maker game XD

  • bruce lee ninja and mr sumo....gotta love it..hie yah!

  • ahhhh...the memories...

  • I am going to name my first born child GREEN MAMO!

  • I wrote a version of this for the PC using DarkBASIC. I used the same sprites and sounds. The difference between my game and this one is that there can be an unlimited amount of ninjas on screen, something which appeals to me :)

I wish there was a POKE that would enable the same for the C64 game (OK, up to 8 characters on screen, being pedantic) as IMHO that was the best version.

  • where is the game...i want to play it

  • My version or this one?

The C64 version can be accessed by googling "bruce lee .d64" - d64 file extensions are for C64 disks

regarding my version, I'm quite willing to upload the code to rapidshare or something so you can compile and run it, I would like someone to finish the game off

  • i got an atari for xmas in 1984 you had to order games from america they took weeks to turn up and they were dearer then other consoles at the time . i ordered bruce lee waited a month then it took years to load and when it finally came on what a pile of shite it was . what was that green thing all about . i was a nine year old kid brought to tears . but watching that clip made me laugh im sat with my nine year old son showing him the games we had back in the day he just walked away

  • mine took 2 weeks to arrive & about 1 week to load up! I have to disagree about the game itself. I got a lot of fun from it & found great satisfaction in completing it unitl it got too easy. & yes, the green guy didn't exactly strike me with fear either!

  • i can`t believe i`ve just been transported back 20 odd in the blink on an eye.....it`s amazing how something so insignificant can trigger so many memories of staying up all night playing games like this...thanks alot

  • este era mi juego favorito del atary 800xl, nunca lo termine XD

  • I deeply love this game which I was able to finish when I was a child :D I love the green shogun, who always yawns when appears, and also for his haircut :D honestly... my fav game... :D

  • I played this game on my Apple II, which wasn't as colorful as this, as the machine could only display 6 colors in hires mode.

  • man, the dazs, esp. when U didn't have 2 pay :)

  • wow...nice

  • I remember finishing this game, so awesome!! One of my all time favorite 800XL games!

  • Almost my first video/computer game!(Pong was really the fist one) This rocks!

From Argentina congratulations!!!

    Aguante Bruce!!!!!

  • Moo!

  • you mean this game is even than the xbox's bruce lee: quest of the dragon?

  • sure is!!!

  • Awesome, thanks for posting this! I still have my working 800XL and floppy of this game, and it's still fun.

  • un clasicoooooo

  • What a game man... I was cheering and sighing to every successful jump and death

  • My first game ever!

  • It's Lieu Kang, er I mean, Bruce Lee!

  • I had this game for the Commodore 64.The C64 version has better sound effects when it comes to the Running Sound.Noticed that right away.

  • if anyone knows where i can find emulators for this and karateka please let me know. these games are friggin CLASSICS! u kids are friggin spoiled with your 3-D virtua fighters and tekkens. this is where it all started!

  • One of the best games for 800 XL !!! God , I played this for hours and hours after school !!! Pushed the homework aside !!! Now look, looking at you tube !!! What a life !!!

  • I don't remember Bruce fighting ninjas and stealing lamps. But that is totally how he would have done it.

  • genius game. I remember if you leave the joystick idol, the screen flashes all different colours, I thought that was amazing.

  • Awesome game this brings back so many memories :-) kids these days dont know what they are missing.

  • micky, they sure don't. Our games in the 80s were more fun than a lot of games today. King's Quest days rocked, too. Sierra.

  • dude the graphics is awesome lol

  • This was one of my favorites, along with Karateka - I like when the fat guy "moo"s lol

  • One of my all time favorites.

  • Fuck me that is mad me and my uncle used to play that fucking game for hours take in turn one be bruce lee the other the green buddha helping each other to get to the end, finally after weeks we did and once you kill the big green thing,it just starts from the fucking begining again.real fond memorys though nice.

  • Such a great game this one.

  • That brought a tear to the eye :)

  • definitely my fav. 800 game of all time

  • Why does Bruce Lee want those decorative lamps so much, and why do those 2 guys want to stop him from taking them so badly?

  • This version didn't go to the end. At the end there is

an evil wizard and the only way to kill him is to get all the lamps. And if those 2 guys weren't trying to stop him the game would be too easy.

  • Apple II, Atari 400/800, ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC, MSX, C64, this game rocked no matter what. The Apple one was the only game in which you were forced to play in alternating mode.

  • Way ahead of its time.

  • I loved this game, the best for atari 800. The green fat M..F.. was funny!

  • me and our kid used to play this he would go bruce lee and i would go the fat green twat, we used to kick the shit out of everyone

  • this thing had 300 games !!! XD

  • hehe i went and recorded entire game - speed run.

    15 minutes lol

  • May Bruce Lee and his son Brandon rest in peace.

  • i had pretty much every atari 400/800 game ever made, and Bruce Lee is the only one I ever really miss.

Blue Max was pretty cool too.

  • Summer Games, World karate Championchip or Goonies were awesome!

  • Thank you for posting this. It brought back such great memories.

  • yeah i remember the fat guy...we use to make sounds when he's open his mouth

  • Playing with Bruce Lee and with Buchu is kinda funny.. poor ninja.

  • if you play with 2 players option, you can choose the Green fat :D, i remember ... xD

  • yes, you're right ;)

  • I own over 300 Atari 800 games and this was one of them. . . It was possibly one of my favorites, but it no longer works. I'm disappointed.

  • loved this game.....its such a classic that not alot of people remember
