Overeem is with the UFC now and the UFC has never really allowed their fighters to fight outside the UFC while under contract. If Overeem wins I dont see him have any intrest at all in fighting Fedor.

Its sad to see people discredit a fighter because of what organization they fight in. To me anyone stepping into a cage to fight as a career is a pro, or Rank A class, w/e. You'll be an A++ fighter if you keep a winning streak going. Just because some companies don't have a huge mainstream fan base doesn't make their fighters any less talented. I think Fedor dropped out of his prime due to 3 things, 1- not training with top tier fighters 2- not fighting top tier fighters 3- not caring about fighting after 10 years of being the king (he lost the motivation, and most importantly lost the sense of urgency). To be completely honest with you his wins are not a who's who of the top HW. I personally believe that Fedor from 2000-2006 would do in today's UFC better than in PRIDE back then.
I noticed that people easily forget about the past. They'll likely do the same with Cain now that he lost, with JDS if he loses to Overeem(example), with Overeem if he gets submitted by Josh Barnett(example) etc.
The difference between all of them and Fedor is that Fedor lasted 10 years, and nobody else did nor likely will ever.

You two are a real bums, Arlovski was on a 5 fights winning streak, he knocked out Nelson, Rothwell and got a win over Werdum before Fedor fight. He wasn't cut from UFC, he got out because he wanted to. Rogers was untested, knocked out 11 people 1 by 1 before fighting Fedor. Fedor was the first guy to stop him. Fedor will win. He will outstrike Monson and probably knock him out, if not have a doctor stoppage because Monson is tough to finish. I wouldn't disrespect 2 legends of the sport. Fedor is the type of guy that no matter how many times he loses or wins, he'll always be one of my favorite fighters. He was legendary in Pride. It sucked seeing him get knocked back down though. Randy v.s. Fedor would be a fight for the ages! That was supposed to happen years ago. I'd like to see Fedor return to form, but it's not likely. I think Fedor's attitude is also what makes him really great. He helped Nogueira off the ground in between rounds and patted him on the shoulder. What other fighter does that? lol. Both guys are class acts, and I almost wish they didn't have to hurt each other soon. Also when Fedor comforted Coleman's daughters after their fight, that was a big moment.

Everyone loses at one point or another too. Fedor didn't lose in ten years, and he was long overdue for a blemish. Like I said before though, I'm a Fedor fan regardless of the losses. The guy brings true class and integrity to the sport, and I consider it a priviledge to watch someone like that perform.

Rankings count for nothing b/c there is no "official" way to rank a fighters skills. Heres where you show you're undereducated on the sport: You say Fedor has lost a step, which is crazy. Youre basing that entire statement on the fact that he lost his last 3 bouts. Losing a mma bout doesn't mean you're losing a step. Its sad to see people discredit a fighter because of what organization they fight in. To me anyone stepping into a cage to fight as a career is a pro, or Rank A class, w/e. You'll be an A++ fighter if you keep a winning streak going. Just because some companies don't have a huge mainstream fan base doesn't make their fighters any less talented. I actually agree with you guys. I think Fedor dropped out of his prime due to 3 things, 1- not training with top tier fighters 2- not fighting top tier fighters 3- not caring about fighting after 10 years of being the king (he lost the motivation, and most importantly lost the sense of urgency). I still think Fedor's level of skill is top of the food chain but his ability to execute those skills intelligently is almost totally gone. Plus I'm sure losing took his heart even more out of it

I think theyre both great fighters, i dont think fedor is worth all the hype. Yeah i know he's good but really, in my opinion, he's not the best. I realise people have different opinions so dont bother replying to me. Then again, monson , while pretty good, is fairly one dimensional.
