yeah, in this game, the shells don't follow the track, just the person they're following. so they usually end up falling off or hitting a wall, and become more useless than green shells, cuz at least green shells bounce off walls.

The Toad player raced a great game... but also got a little lucky there right at the end of the 2nd lap/start of the 3rd. If they hadn't gotten those green shells just in time to block the Peach player's attack, it might have ended differently.

This part was bogus when you get to the turn up there and the sign says,"Welcome." My little bro and i used to play this game all the time and he hated this part. Oh well.
