@ronenb001 he is asking her do she wanna get off on her own, in other words they were in a relationship and she wanna split, now he is doing what he left her to do HURT.
I KNOW I'LL PROBABLY SOUND FUNNY TO Y'ALL, BUT THIS SONG GIVES ME SO MUCH ENERGY OF LIFE, POWER TO PHISICALY KEEP GOING EVERY DAY. SERIOUSLY. ITS JUST HAPPENING, THATS ALL :)) I LOVE THIS SONG. ITS ONE OF MY FAVORITE TRACKS TOO. 70'S AND 80'S AND VERY EARLY 90'S WERE THE BEST FOR ME - PERIOD, NOT ONLY MUSIC WISE. :))
@17DM I was born in 85' too and sometimes I wish I was about ten years older so I could've really experienced this era of music. I used too hear these songs as a small child on the radio, but I was too little to truly appreciate it. I agree with the Timbaland comment. Both him a Diddy produced pure fire in the 90s, and now they are trying to please this current " no musical taste having" teenage generation by producing what sells. The music industry has sacraficed art for the almighty dollar.
@twinkeez2003 the smurf and the prep. Hands on your hips, nodding up and down then hand shuffle in the air. Closed down many a club nights on this one.
@pauliephizzle I was thinking the same thing. I was like, damn Al B has a unibrow. Wow. Imma 80's babies and did not know this. Probably because I was not allowed to watch music videos all that much but do remember listening to his music.
WTF why shuld trey songz remake this! leave the classics alone can't no one touch this why? that'll be a insult to al cause no one has a voice like al but who? AL!!!
@musiqgem your half right. it started with Teddy Riley who was crafting those early new jack beats, (Keith Sweat, Uptown Records) which would later develop into Guy
@musiqgem because first of all Teddy Riley arrived long before Guy. He was the one that produced the classic hip hop bangers: The Show for Dougie Fresh & the Get Fresh Crew, Go See The Doctor for Kool Moe Dee & that was like in 1985. He had a group out called Kids At Work like in 1986. So I dont know where you got 1988 was the arival of Teddy Riley; you must either be: very young , very dumb, a know it all, or from the West Coast lol
@kennyfame I said "The New Jack Era" started in 1988 with the arrival of Teddy Riley & Guy! That's why I put Teddy & Guy together, can you read correctly & understand that? TR's beginnings was not the New Jack Swing STYLE that he later established with the R&B SOUND of his group, it was straight Hip Hop, there's a huge difference! FYI Teddy did the synthesizer recreation of the Inspector Gadget sample in The Show & nothing more, not the beat itself or the shaker sounds throughout the track.
I remember sitting on the door of the car while my ma drove down the street ;singing this song ........betta get out on your own girl ! well at least that what I thought the words were! anyway this is fire!!!!!!!!!
I'm about to be 30 this year...and wow...when I was 8...music was a beautiful tornado when I heard jams like this...big ups to the producers on this...Kyle West before today's West is to be given credit for this...he was up there with Teddy, Jimmy Jam&Terry Lewis and Babyface.
