  • (cont.) the case. Then add on top of that Holyfield's desperate low blows as usual, especially that one that threatened Ruiz's chances of ever having children, and then trying to actually wrestle and pull Ruiz to the ground because he knows that's his only chance...pathetic. Congrats to Ruiz, you earned that one!

  • Haha some of these comments -and some of the comments of one of the commentators (not sure who) are effin hilarious. Ruiz murdered Holyfield in this fight. And anyone who can see clearly and is not an idiot or bias, can clearly see the true champion of this fight John Ruiz. Just because his style is a little different and he may have gone backwards more than Holyfield, doesn't mean Holyfield was winning those rounds at all...not unless he actually hit Ruiz more than Ruiz hit him, which is not

  • Evander Holyfield should have won by KO in10th round after his hard body shot at John Ruiz but they ruled it instead as a low blow. The replay shows it was a clean body punch. So Ruiz got lucky here and would have lucky again in the 3rd fight as well. Evander Holyfield was a better champion so I had no problem with the 1st fight's unanimus decision victory for Holyfield.

  • Better fight than the first one. Holyfield did much better except for his R11 knockdown. However, I again have a draw: 4-3-4 for Holyfield, with R11 dominant for Ruiz, so 115-115 on the 10-point-must system. I have Holyfield winning 3,5,7 and 9 and Ruiz winning 4,8 and 11, with 1,2,6 and 12 a draw. Ref Cortez made a mistake by not also taking a point away from Ruiz in R10 for a low blow. Had he done so, then Holyfield deserved to win. Judges showed easy win for Ruiz, which was a disgrace.

  • ruiz is a fucking tough like hell. you got to punch him hard at the chin to bring him down

  • Holyfield won this fight and the third fight. Ruiz won the first fight.

  • John ruiz earned a World Championship belt..... Why does everyone try to take that from him because of his style?

  • @MrJessetaylor1 Because Lennox Lewis was the real champion at the time and John beat an old man to win a paper title and ended up getting beat by 2 middleweights.

  • @pearcemark2 Lewis was a bum, couldn't even beat washed up Holyfield

  • If Ruiz would have hit Holyfield with that right uppercut going down, the fight would have been over!

  • ... and allofasudden in round 11, a fight broke out!

  • holyfield would of beat ruiz easier than tua did in his prime

  • maaan Ruiz would be short work for prime Holyfield

  • John Ruiz bought judge in every his fights. Fucking lier.

  • Ruiz shouldn't have won this fight. Who cares what your nationality or ethnicity is. If you lost the fight, you lost the fight. Never should have been a deduction for a low blow. If any deduction should have been made, it should have been Ruiz for holding or retaliating with an intentional low blow. He probably should have won the first fight. Not this one though. No way. Props to Ruiz for winning a title, but in the end, everyone knows that a prime Holyfield wouldn't have let him off the hook.

  • @JackassHill ..... are you blind dude? This fight was tight going into round 11. That's when Ruiz took it to Holyfield and beat him down. Round 12 was even, but because Ruiz had the momentum he pulled it through.... I had the fight scored 114-112.

  • @MegaYouri13 Well I guess it's all about how you scored the first eight rounds then.

  • @JackassHill ... that's the thing, the fight was very tight. It was even until Ruiz got in the 11th Round and that's when he scored the knockdown. The hit below the belt wasn't good for Holyfield either... it was a tought fight. Fighting Ruiz isn't pretty, but he finds a way to win- when he has not been blasted out early by Tua!

  • Highway Robbery! Holyfield clearly dominated the fight. Ruiz got one knockdown. He ran the whole time and held Holyfield. Ruiz does not know what he is doing as a boxer. He fights with his head down.

  • John Ruiz did what Mike Tyson could not do. He fought and beat Holyfield twice! He was robbed in the first fight. Ruiz was the first Latino Heavyweight Champion and so far the only one in history. So, in spite of all the negative comments about his boring style he gets my respect. A nice man who overachieved, made good money and wrote an important chapter in boxing history.

  • John Ruiz es un bacalao pero que se joda es Boricua y eso es lo que cuenta, con este combate hizo historia un jibarito de sabana grande viva Puerto Rico

  • he really showed heart you canot take that from Ruiz he has alot of heart.

  • had johnruiz had better people around him he would of had a better career.

  • If Evander had 5 mins to get his legs back after getting knocked down maaybe the last 2 rounds would have gone differently

  • A Latino beating the shit out of another fighter... Hmm, familiar sight! Hollyfield looks impressive for such an aged man, though.

  • I scored this fight 6-5-1 (One round being 10-8 - not sure why the one commentator would say 10-7 when Evander only went down once. And the draw round being 9-9.) So I had it 113-113. I think if the official did an extensive viewing replay of Holyfield's knockdown over Ruiz they would be able to determine whether it was a clear low-blow, I viewed it repeatedly and saw it hit th trim of Ruiz's shorts and no lower.

  • holyfield, just 4th times heavyweight champion of the world guys ^^

  • this particular ruiz would have destroyed haye

  • ave never really seen this lad fight, heard hes a bit over the hill? but no nothing about him hope he gives haye a scrap saturday, heard he can bang

  • Comment removed

  • LOL "How're you doing Evander?" "I'm doin good."

  • i love john ruiz,no ego just gets in there and boxes anyone in front of him.

    working class hero.

    massive respect.

  • he fought a great fight here no doubt.respect.

  • Holyfield is the bravest guy i've ever seen. He won the 1 fight with Ruiz and this second one was winning by far until the 11 round. Of course he wasn't at his bets then but Ruiz was a clown, even faked the low blow. Look at his face for godsake, Holyfield was giving him a shit of a beat.

  • Holyfield lost the first fight because it was fixed FACT! BRAVE? hahahah you mean brain dead! Whats wrong with idiots with Holyfield? over-hyped and loses his fights but by magic the judges give him the win (like Lewis beat the shit out of him twice)

  • no no no, holyfield won the first fight lost the second[this one] and the third one was a draw. if you cant get your facts right STOP FUCKIN SPAMMING.

  • Holyfield lost the first EVEN Holyfake knew it! you could see it on his face everyone who knows boxing can see he lost the first. He was only given it to become a 4X champion...

  • @sw1000xg ok,i get ya,records book say he won,so im afraid that stands.

  • @sw1000xg decisions count[i know what u mean tho] its like saying mayweather has won all his fights. we know that's bullshit.

  • @sw1000xg just watched the first fight and i agree with you, holyfield lost that one as well,no doubt.

  • his power & chin have saved him many times as we know, but if i had 2 put money on it, i would put my money on both klitschkos beating him on points

but like i said, with tuas power ANYTHING can happen.

so we will see...he has 2 get past friday ahunanya 1st though- & he's a tough awkard guy

  • @HatmanTV Tua is done

  • i love tuas style aswell, but i actually dont think he can become champion in 2010 lol

    A)because he cant beat the klitschkos, there's 2 tall & 2 smart 4 him

B)because the winner of haye & ruiz will not want 2 fight him coz he's 2 dangerous

  • I believe he has a chance against the klitschkos. If he can push them in a corner like he did against ruiz and his latest victory, he can get that 1 shot in that will knock them out, especially against wladimir. Lamon Brewster did it, why not tua? who knows. Yeah, if I was Haye I would avoid tua too and Ruiz knows whatsup lol.

  • tua has a chance against anybody coz of his power...but u lose power when u have 2 punch up so high, & having 2 reach a guy who's 6'7" ur gonna lose more power than usual

tua has been outboxed so many times in his career its almost come 2 be expected lol- tua fights usually end up with him being behind on points & scoring a late dramatic stoppage or losing on a decision

tua dont have the reach of a brewster or sanders or puritty-i cant see how he's gonna get close enough 2 land

  • Ruiz's best skill in the ring seems to be faking low blows.

  • i dont like the fighting style of ruiz, but i have to admitthe won this.

but holyfield was almost 39 years, and 6 years past his prime and stillstood up against a young h weight.! thats heart!

holy should retired after lewis ll.

    great fight tho

  • Well said, Holyfield was already fading when he fought Lewis first time but should have definately retired after 2nd fight. Holyfield at his best would have destroyed Ruiz. Simple as that.

  • Holyfield was 38 and was proud to make it al the way through. John Ruiz was a lot Younger by at least ten years. Holyfield knew his career was coming to an end.

  • @vgcq02 actually the problem is holyfield DIDNT KNOW his career was coming to an end- coz its 10yrs later & he's still fighting! lol

we all knew he was over the hill by the time he fought ruiz, but he just dont wanna accept it- i wonder if he will ever retire?? lol

  • imagine holyfield 75 years old and still trying to get his 5th HW title LOL. i bet he would still look as ripped as in his twenties.

I think tua has the experience to be able to beat the klitschkos, but if i had to put my money on it, id choose the klitschkos as well

  • Tuas gonna knock em all out! Hes never been knocked out or down in his career ever. But only real boxing fans know this.

  • he has been knocked down lol vs a cuban guy

  • @shellbsd23 yeh he did get knocked out as an amateur once by felix savon, he was only 17 or 18 though and weighed less than 200lbs, that was about 20yrs ago so i wouldnt read 2 much into that, he's taken far harder punches as a pro & never gone down

  • yes i dont disagree, i love tuas style, i believe he can become champion in 2010, but fact remains he was knocked down ( a long time ago)

  • yes he was, & muhammad ali was knocked down, tyson was knocked down, holyfield was knocked down, joe louis was knocked down, rocky marciano was knocked down, larry holmes was knocked down, lennox lewis was knocked down- ANYBODY CAN BE KNOCKED DOWN! The point is, its more difficult to knock some fighters down than others.. unlike ALL the other fighters ive mentioned, tua has NEVER been knocked down as a pro, even in sparring! which is remarkable

  • @HatmanTV He was dropped as an amature

  • Holyfield would have played with Ruiz in his prime.

  • i remember watching this when i was 10 years old

  • For me Holyfield win.

  • nigger got his ass beat.

  • puneta primer campeon latino peso completo de puerto rico pa q mamen envidiosos jajaja de ti merio jajaja

  • Fuck the turning point in that fight was the Ruiz Hollywood laying on the ground like a beached whale taking a three minute breather for a low blow that wasn,t even that bad.

Up to that point he was tiring and looking weaker by the minute Holyfield was controlling the fight.

  • doesnt matter if it isnt that bad you get 5 minutes for low blows and holyfield has himself to blame for it

  • BS, Ruiz fired back 2 "intentional" lowblows shortly after his 3 minute break. No point lost, no break for Holyfield

  • God one of the commentator(dont recollect his name) is so much in favour of evander, bull shit, he calls the ko head but even with out seeing the replay, wat an assssole

  • The commentator was Bobby Czyz, who actually got knocked out by Holyfield lol. So it would make sense that he would be biased against Ruiz. But in the end, he scored it for Ruiz.

  • Bobby Czyz, who actually got knocked out by Holyfield

    haha! true

  • ruiz is a toad. His offence is horrible, but cant deny that he is a tough nut. Besides Tua, who has knocked him down?

  • Come on man are you kidding, I live in NZ and I hate David Tua very much. In my pov he is the dummest boxer I have ever witnessed. All Tua's fight is boring, slow pace and all that guy wants to do is to knock his opponent out in one punch. He has no boxing skill, beside the fight between him and Lewis years ago, was like a grown up man humiliates a 5 years old boy, that was a very embarrasing fight. I HATE DAVID TUA

  • besides Tua what other fighters do you have in NZ?

  • wassup TRIPLESIXSICCNESS the only other international boxer in NZ is Shane Cameron but he is worse than Tua himself jst last month in oct Tua & Cameron fought each other. The fight ended in a 2nd round KO for Tua and Cameron went to the hospital for check-up after the fight but they both got knocked out by an American-Nigerian fighter who is relatively unknown to the world boxing ranking.
