Honestly? this is what derpy probably would have sounded like anyway if the VA was told she was playing a female pony. She thought Derpy was a boy.

And to be honest, I have to say parents who get offended really need to open their eyes and ears. Most parents I know who act against Derpy had no idea what tv character their kids got the phrase "I like chocolate milk' from, or the constant YES! of fred fredburger. Both of which feel like a far bigger 'insult' to mentally challenged.

@therubberduckslolz what source do you have for this? just a few hours ago on equestria daily, apparently an excerpt from an email of a hasbro rep said that derpy was in essence, considered too offensive so that paritcular episode was changed. While this means we shouldnt have to worry about past and future episodes, it also means that the last roundup was indeed changed due to complainers and we will most likely not be getting the name "derpy" ever again.

They might as well not even try to focus on Lyra, Bonbon, Scratch, Octavia, Hooves, Carrot Top or any others if fans are going to be so easily offended by nothing.

I joined the herd in late March, a good month or so after the airing of Feeling Pinkie Keen, thus missing the beginning of Derpy's evolution from a mere background pony.

I feel honored that I was able to catch her being named (and given lines, no less!) in this past episode. When Rainbow Dash said "Careful, Derpy." I was completely floored. I will never have words to describe that feeling.

If I could relive anything right now, I'd want it to be watching this for the first time again.
