Great vid, I paid $299 plus tax ($331) for mine a month ago and shot it for the first time on March 3rd and it performed great.....No internet hate here!!!!
@citrano2012 As far as I know there should only be a port hole on the top of the chamber to allow you to see brass loaded or not loaded, on the S&W. The external extractor claw is not technically a chamber check indicator so I would not use it as a physical check. Maybe the ammo you are using doesnt have a significant case lip to push the extractor out to where you can notice it?
@mixflip No I have tried different types of ammo, I mostly use 180 gr FMJ by either Federal or Hornady 40 S&W 180 gr XTP for carry. I was commenting that your video had stated that that has a visual check on the side but it never extracts at all but I can see the round in the port hole, yes.
This is a great gun!! I have owned 3 glocks, 23, 22, and a 30. The 18 degree grip angle is perfect in my hand, I don't find myself readjusting my grip on follow up shots. For the $269.00 I paid brand new, it's a winner.
Thanks for the video..It was superbly informative to me about the S&W Sigma 40 caliber..I was curious which is the better handgun S&W Sigma 9mm or the Ruger P95 9mm?I am researching to purchase my first handgun and are considering the two for the affordability..Your help would be appreciated..Kudos on the video superb content!!
@Hevex77 Thanks for watching. I believe the Sigma and the Ruger are two very different styles of handguns. The S&W is a striker fired DAO style with no manual safety or decocker while the Ruger is a DA/SA style with a slide mounted safety and decocker. Some folks prefer one or the other but rarely do they like both styles. You have to figure out which one you prefer and what are you going use the gun for. Home defense? open carry? CCW? etc etc.
@mixflip Thanks for the information on the two types of guns..I primarily plan to use it for target/range use as well as home defense..Being my first handgun I was curious if they both accept the same types of ammo,I know their are so many types out there..I was just wondering if one had the upper hand?
@Hevex77 They both come in a few of the same calibers. You cant simply say one if better than the other. Thats a mistake many gun guys make when they get into guns. Guns fit people uniquely just like shoes. My choice of shoe doesnt mean its better than your shoes. My needs and expectations are different than yours so I cant just say 1 gun is perfect for all occasions.
@mixflip I totally understand your position in this and I agree..There are many attractive features to both handguns..Overall,I am still on the fence about it and hopefully I will find the deciding factors to make a final decision..I want to thankyou for your advise and help..Maybe you can post a video explaining the two guns..LOL!!Thanks again:)
I have a Sigma 9mm, and S&W got everything right about the gun, but the trigger. I can't hit the broad side of a barn with it because of the 8 lb trigger pull. Give me the same ammo with my XDm (about a 4 lb trigger), and I'll put rounds on target all day long. I've read about people taking springs out of the trigger and watched a few YouTube videos. Any comments on how it improves the accuracy of the gun? I've also shot Glocks, and I don't like the grips. Too large IMHO.
@bbalak Please dont take offense to this but folks have been shooting 10 pound triggers for decades with revolvers. Its a training issue. There is a whole generation that never learned how to shoot revolvers and it shows when folks say they arent accurate with a heavy trigger. Heavy triggers are actually preferred for defensive shooting hence the NY trigger that the NYD requested on their issued Glocks. Adrenaline will erase any memory of how heavy a trigger is in a fight for your life.
@bbalak I agree with you on the Glocks. I am a Glock guy (I carry one 7 days a week) but the grip is at the bottom of my list of likes. S&W got the grip right with the Sigma and made the grips even better with the M&P. As for the spring. I removed the pigtail spring and it did lighten it up a bit but nothing to brag about. I am not a trigger diva so I dont focus on trigger pull much in general. For self defense & HD trigger lbs wont matter or even be remembered after the fact.
@chicorey06 Thanks. to be fair, all guns have some sort of strength & weakness but some of the things that are said about the Sigma is simply not true. Internet commandos love to repeat what someone else said on a gun forum and its just irritating. Thats why I made this video.
@mixflip Thats so true....... pros n cons to even the glocks n 1911's out there but most people mix quality with price. Do you think a glock 19 holster would fit my sigma?
@naedanger123 Thanks for watching mate. 20 years ago I worked along side some British sailors. They were cool dudes. I couldnt believe the British Navy actually let them have a beer break at sea!!! As for your gun laws. Its a shame what the politicians did to your gun freedoms. You Brits have such a long long history of being great warriors and marksmen and now you cant even own a handgun. So sad.
@mixflip Yeah... Anyway, thanks for your support and your vid. I miss trying out the Glock 21 and the SIG P226... Oh well. Maybe our politicians will come to their senses and bring back handguns. I have the nagging feeling that this is wishful thinking though.
Just purchased a new sigma 40 this morning. Got a killer deal on it. Go black Friday sale! Just wanted to say that your video was very informative and thorough. Do you recommend the versa carry holster for ccw for this sidearm? Thanks for your time.
The only down side I have with the sigma I own is that the trigger pull is to heavy for my wife to use comfortably. She finds it more comfortable to use two fingers just to pull the trigger. Other wise I love my sigma and it serves its purpose for a low price.
this ia a awsome gun for the money, i highly recommend this for any1 one lookin for somethin reliable and accurate, i will be getn a glock soon but i will b keeping my sigma. thats how much i like it, hope this helps ppl. an most likely it will jamm if you cant keep ur fingers off the slide when you shoot, same for ant pistol. an there is a trigger mod on utube, i would only take the pig tale out tho, tried and tested, trust me ppl, just the pig tale, and there r plenty off accessoriues for it
1st of all this is with all respest an my personal opinion. i own a sigma 9mm ve, i have put about 400 hundread rounds an not 1 jam or malfunction, it jammed 1 time an i let my wifes cousin shoot an she had her finger to close or on the slide causing it to jam,my wife fired has used it an never jammed, could b the operater, i love the gun an wickedly accurate, i give it a 9 an not a ten b/c i would like it solid blk for concealment. other than that it workd flawlessly...
@TheFloridaboy86 Thats a common malfunction with many semiauto handguns not just the Sigma. A weak grip or a finger that hits the slide stop lever can both cause a malfunction that is 100% not the gun fault. I think this video proves that many people have had good experiences with the Sigma. Many good replies and thumbs up. Thanks for watching.
Glock is really nice. It is a bit of a name that you are buying. Big aftermarket too. I have a Hi Point and this will be like a real huge improvement for me. This is a good firearm. I rented it at a range and tried it. DAO is not a huge issue.
I own this sigma and for the price its been very good to me, two of my friends shoot glocks and they are very good guns. But i wouldnt say they are much better than my sigma, i prefer the feel of mine as mentioned in this video. in the end it depends on what you are buying the gun for. If you plan on shooting underwater and going through thousands of rounds spend the money on the glock. If you are looking for something to take to the range every now and then and self/home defense, pick the S&W
Good video. Sigma is hecka cheap, so even if you buy one that performs below average, you still only paid $280! I have a PT111 that people trash. Things a work horse though
I don't know if it is just the gen 4 but I know the extractor pin on the glock is a physical way to check if it has a round in the chamber. Good review btw.
Have one. Put a Hogue slip on grip on it, as well Springco return spring and rod (recoil reducer), as well, polished out the metal sear. Net result, simply phenomenal and superior ergonomics. Have put perhaps 3,000 plus rounds through it and not once a single failure to feed or fire. More than adequately accurate, actually better than two other 40S&W caliber pistols I have from one other mfgr., one of which I sold.
So sick and tired of all the ignorant lies against this pistol.
The only thing I don't like about stock Sigmas is the horribly heavy triggerpull...but this is a pretty easy fix. Unfortunately though you'll see people bash on just about every gun frame out there, even the 1911 though it'll cause a great deal of geriatric, "American do no wrong" Rednecks to fly out of the woodwork. Heck I've gotten 3" groups from a .45 HiPoint offhand at 25 yards with Federal 230 Walmart specials, and even when the gun was hot it took about 5 fast-clip rapid fires to jam.
Sigma trigger pull weight is akin to a double action and is a DA by design. Not at all heavy. Many shooters want a ridiculously light trigger pull which is beyond dangerous.
As alluded, the metal finish on the sear is fractionally rough which in interface with the plastic causes that gritty sensation. But if carefully, slowly polished out (the metal only) with jewelers rouge and cloth over a good 30 minutes it's as smooth as glass and the net result is great. It's a good pistol.
I still find them to be a bit on the heavy side due to the feel of the trigger itself...but I'm an oddball who likes the feel of Dan Wesson DA revolvers so I'm not exactly the person most want to base their opinions on.
had one....pos. bad trigger, bad group, jams..pos. Use a big stick for personal defense before you count on this gun. Using it as a paper weight is an insult to paper. Comparing it to a Glock is like comparing chicken shit to chicken soup.
@bmiller0000 I always say test every gun before you trust it even if its a $2000 1911. Saying that ALL Sigmas are pos's is one of the myths and lies I made this video for. I am a Glock guy and have experienced jams with Glocks. I have experienced jams with AK's and AR15's. I have been jumped by racist white people once when I was growing up in California...are all whites racist? No. My point is not all Sigmas are pos's. Im sorry you had one.Did it have broken parts? Was it maintained properly?
@mixflip Didn't say they were all bad. 100% of the ones I've handled have been POS. Sent mine back to the factory, came back with same problems. S&W said I was gripping it wrong?? With a 15#, too long trigger pull, you have to grip it tight with both hands just to get it to discharge. So...S&W is a POS and so are the S&W products I've handled.
@bmiller0000 Sorry to hear that. It happens. I have seen Glocks break, I recently saw a Colt AR15 fail and I saw a $2500 LMT with a suppressor fail at media day 2011 malfunction. It happens to ever gun company I guess? Would I buy another Sigma? No not for full price. $100? Then yes.
@bmiller0000 so what your saying is you shoot like a bitch. i am a Sigma owner. basiclly glock viewed S&M as threat which they were and thus this why they tried suing. if you know anything about how to shoot you.... um well you would know how to shoot basically. it took me i think 2 mags to get a good group with the sigma. once i got it down after about 100 rounds my group was even tighter. the sigma is not a point and shoot pistol and you would know this again if you knew how to shoot.
@bmiller0000 yeah i asked her 20 years ago when i was 7 i wanted my first hunting rifle. whens the last time you dropped a deer from over 300 yards away henry repeater or any human being at that matter with a gun. i forgot to mention im a weapons expert in the army. what guns have you shot? BB guns dont count either. im no hillbilly gunslinger either. i just love everything about weapons. the S&W sw40 happens to be a part of history in the gun world.
Respond to this video... oh and as far asthe trigger pull and length. again if you knew anything about weapons you know you can have that fixed by having a gunsmith adjust it. hell theres even vids on here on how to do it. and you can buy the kit off of ebay to do it yourself. basically what im trying to say is... and ill be nice about this is YOUR A BITCH. and well the sigma is not a bitch weapon.
Honestly I find this comment fairly hypocritical. To say those things about a gun like the Sigma (the trigger can be fixed real easy) when the Sigma is based off of the Glock is quite humorous, especially considering how much proof there is of Glock KB's and other issues. Sure a good deal of these are from bad ammo, but some KB'ed from stock ammo too simply because of that massive throat and the tolerances (which don't exactly make Glocks an out of the box grouper either).
@IcabodCrane ...never said I like glocks or chicken soup. IMO...both are far better than the alternative. On a tangent, I did get to shoot an old, worn out Sig in 9mm, and it was still a babydoll of a handgun. I pick the Sig over both. Pretty cool that you did not go to name calling and questioning the ethnicity of my granny. Seems that is what all of the cool kids (Booger) on YouTube are doing these days.
Yeah there's a lot of trolls on Youtube sadly, along with a lot of kids who play Call of Duty having never once fired a gun and reckon themselves experts. In terms of name-calling I tend not to resort to that.
Sigmas aren't bad though if you work the trigger some, they're just not a Sig. Sig's are in general awesome guns...they've made some cheaper ones, but if you ever find yourself a P210 hold onto it with your LIFE. They're the triple lock pistols, and fetch Korrofila prices.
own one, shoot one, rely on it. never had a problem, great accuracy, and no problem with trigger pull. i traded my G-26 for this and do not regret it for one second!
A Glock reminds me of a Surefire flashlight. At one time it was the leader in flashlight technology. Now there is Fenix flashlights for a fraction of the price and just as good if not better performance. Glock vs Sigma in my opinion is the same type of deal. You can buy the Sigma for half the price as the glock with nearly even performance if not better in some ways. Glock owners will always talk down on a Sigma because they spent double the price than they had to. Glock is over priced.
@chadj79 Good point. I actually still believe Glocks are a better gun but not leaps and bounds better. Just better. Luckily you can buy a used Glock now for about $350 to $400 which isnt much more than a Sigma.
I do agree with all of your assessments. I have both Sigmas (pre-litagation & post-litagation). & the Glocks. You got it right on the ergonomics of the Sigma.I sent my Post-litagation 9mm Sigma to S&W- In Texas they have this gunsmith who goes nothing but make the Sigma trigger less-gritty & as smooth as he can. When I got it back & shot it - the difference was very noticeable - However it will never be a nice shooter with that "sweet spot". So, for now both Sigmas sit in the box. THX. JAMES.
I just picked one of these in .40 up at the local box store for $279. I did a little research on it before I bought it and the biggest problem people seem to have is the stiff trigger. So at that price I figured I really couldn't go wrong. It is the cheapest pistol I've ever purchased, and so far I'm actually impressed. I think it will be a pretty good pistol for the money.
I have to beg ti differ, I have owned both. the sigma was alright. It was not the most accurate gun in the world. I traded mine for a Ruger p95, then traded it for a glock 19 NIB, the glock just feels great in my hand. The Glock 19 has a 3 pound trigger pull, and it is a lot more accurate, and has less recoil. Gen 4. I love it, glad I traded a ruger and 150 bucks for the glock. I owned both the .40, and 9mm sigma.
@isamtator I am just sharing my personal opinions and I never once claim the Sigma is "better" than a Glock. I merely say that Sigmas are not absolute junk like folks try to claim them to be. I agree the Glock is a better gun overall and thats why I carry a G26 7 days a week. As for the Glock trigger being 3 pounds? Its 5.5lbs unless you altered it? You should have a hair trigger on a defensive gun hence the NY trigger that cops requested years ago on the 1st Glocks issued to NYPD.
@mixflip The pawn shop I bought it from, tested the the triger pull, with a scale it said 3.8 pounds to triger it, and the smith he had was 8 pounds to pull. I dont know if his scale was off or what.
I liked em just wanted the real glock, and got to where I could afford one. I fell in love with it, I know its wierd, but it is true. I might buy from now on nothing but glocks becouse of my glock 19.
@isamtator Ooops I meant to say "should not" have a hair trigger on a defensive gun hence the NY trigger on the NYPD issued Glocks. I guess they had one too many negligent discharges either when holstering or when pointed at a bad guy? In my opinion 3.8 pounds is too light for CCW or open carry work. I agree Glock srock but life is too short to not experience other guns. My M&P40 is probably a better gun than a G17 in my opinion. Guns are like shoes. What fits me doesnt mean it is best for you.
@IamMaiC That is obviously a whole different set of circumstances. If my life was in danger I would be thankful to have anything! And for the record Im not complaining about either gun.
@mixflip yes!!! every weapon has it's flaws and it's greatness! but i have had no problems with my sigma 400 plus rounds downrange. but i don't run around saying this is great and that is shit. because i don't know! until i shoot a glock or anyother weapon i will comment on what i know.
@IamMaiC I dont understand? Are you accusing me of walking around and saying this is better than that? All I am showing is the pro's and con's of both guns (that I actually own) from my personal experience with them. Its just a video of my opinions. What exactly are you angry at?
@mixflip who said i was angry. i agree with you!! im just stating that i don't know about the glock. i never fired one. i have heard crap from other guys at shooting ranges and such about the sigma. I have had no problems with it. so are these people angry that it resembles a glock. or that it may for it's price be a dependable weapon and they are angry at that? all i know is this if i need to use my sigma i know it will perfrom.
@IamMaiC Oh sorry about that. Sometimes its hard to understand the context of people comments in text form? LOL. I think youare right, some people are just angry that an American gun that costs less is actually a decent gun when you compare it to the almighty Glock. I love Glocks but I also like value for my money and I really do think the Sigma is a good value (the ones made after 2000 that is).
I just bought my first gun ever yesterday (the Sigma 9mm S&W) and while I havent shot it yet, it feels great in my hand! I purchased it for 280 bucks brand new. I hear countless good and bad about this weapon, but believe this is a Glock without the higher price tag. I will post how I shoot, but dont predict any problems honestly. This gun is made VERY WELL fit and finish....and 16 in the mag and one in the chamber....how can you miss your target!? Great review btw! Helped alot!
@ad1199 Glad to be of help. Very exciting times when you get your 1st gun!!! Just remember the golden rules of safety and you will have a blast literally. $280 is a great price for what you get. Its a S&W, its reliable and affordable and its design after the worlds most popular handgun (Glock). Thats alot for $280. Stay safe
Thanks for the video! I took my new Sigma VE 40, (that I bought after viewing your video), to the range this week . I shot six rounds into a three inch group, 3 in the bullseye, at fifty feet first time out! And I am a bad shot! Got no problem with the trigger pull, use to revolvers. I have the Taurus 740 Slim 40, NRA handgun of the year, and I am more accurate with the Sigma! I bought a Forbus holster and now it is my favorite carry. Thanks again!
@Gourmetbooger Glad to be of help. Revolver shooters always do well with guns that have heavy triggers. Its the spoiled trigger divas that suck as soon as they have to shoot anything with more than 5lbs of trigger pull. Good shooting!
I bought a 686 Smith revolver at a good price with intentions of resale. I had it for about 15hrs, sold it at a gun show, took the profit from the 686 and put on a Sigma. I am out of pocket $150 on the Sigma. I am tired of reading crappy comments on the Sigma myself. I have not had one problem with mine. People complain about the trigger, which is stiff, but so are 99% of DAO pistols. That is just a trait that a DAO pistol has.
@MrVindo123 Glock is not a millimeter. Glock is a gun that comes is various calibers so I dont really undestand your question "which is better Glock or 9mm?"
@MrVindo123 I cant answer that for you. I might shoot my Glock better than a S&W...but the next guy might shoot his S&W better than a Glock. Guns are like shoes, you have to shoot them to get a feel for which one fits you best. Just because you really like a Desert Eagle 50 caliber handgun that you see in the movies doesnt mean you can shoot it accurately in real life. Accuracy is often within the shooter more so than in the gun. A good marksman can shoot well with all guns.
@blaziankhmer Why? Because they are both polymer guns, both are double action only, both are striker fired, both are field stripped the same way, both have hinged triggers, both are chambered in 9mm and 40cal, both can be bought for about the same money (Sigma $350 new Glock $400 used) and finally...S&W was sued by Glock for copyright infringement because they are designed almost identical internally. Thats why...Glocks are good but they are not the Rolls Royce of the firearms world. HK's maybe?
@mixflip well ok that was maybe bad saying rolls royce, but ive read so many reviews for it and they weren't so good. so i decided to get the SR9 instead. but i heard that the new SD models are pretty good. sorry if i came off a little rough bro. my buddy just picked up a glock 22 yesterday and it is a so well made. makes me want one, but i decided to pick up a stag arms model yesterday instead. for 300 dollars did you ever considered the ruger p95?
@blaziankhmer Like i always say, get what ever works for you. There is no such thing as a perfect gun. i own 2 Glocks and i carry a Glock26 7 days a week. i love Glocks! My point of the video was that S&W's/Sigma's arent the pieces of crap the haters try to make them out to be. Thats all. I am not claiming Sigmas are a top shelf gun...i am just pointing out that they arent junk.
boner for your cheap sigma? I've owned both and the quality of the glock does not compare to the cheapness in quality of a sigma. The glock will shoot fine after thousands of rounds, sigmas start burning out more quickly.
Thanks for the video.. I just purchased a Sigma 40.. (the price was right) in spite of what I have read about it.. Havent shot it yet but looking forward to it. I had a Glock but didnt like the way it felt in my hand.. I can tell you this,, The Sigma feel a lot better than the Glock did..
@vrollen As legendary and great Glocks are...they arent perfect for every person. No gun is. Glocks are basically a victim of their own success. I agree my Sigma did feel better in my hands than my G19 but that one fact still didnt translate into a more accurate gun for me personally. The Sigma is a good gun as long as you get it for a cheap price. I wouldnt pay $400 for one though.
This report seems very bias. Does Smith give you a percentage of sales? I'm sure the Sigma is a good gun, but why would you have to make up problems with the Glock to make the Sigma look better. Almost all your complaints about the Glock is a preferance and not a true complaint/problem with the Glock.
@lanlesnee How is a preference not a true problem? If a certain feature bugs me then guess what it is a problem for me. Just because you are insulted by my opinion or dont agree with it doesnt make the issue go away? I dont think its biased at all. I think its honest and truthful. Fyi, I own several Glocks and carry a Glock 26 7 days a weeks. I love Glocks but I am not a Glock fanboy who ignores its potential negatives. Did you miss the part where I said I bought the Sigma used for only $150?
@lanlesnee Also, the video is just about my opinion. I never claim to be teaching the world that the Sigma is a best gun on Earth. Its not anywhere near as good a gun as a Glock and I never say it is. On that note Glocks arent perfect for every person on the planet either. And for the record this is a very old video of mine and I have long since sold the Sigma and I probably wont buy another one unless I get it for $150 again? I think guys get too emotional about their guns? They are just tools
@MechTech82 I am in deed a police officer, I am also a military veteran and yes it is very much the American way thanks to our Constitution and the 2nd Amendment which is our right for legal law abiding American citizens to own firearms to defend themselves. I dont see any fault in our 2nd amd rights or any fault in the freedom of self defense? Molitov cocktails and pipe bombs are banned in Belfast yet they are still used in violent crimes. The real root of the issue is "people" not weapons.
@mixflip Point taken. It's Just a shame that there are soo many disturbed people in this world that cause the "law abiding citizens" to have to use a gun for self defence. Fortunately I live in a country where we don't need to carry a gun to feel safe while walking the streets, the only time I will need to, is if I'm defending my country, and hopefully it will never come to that.
@MechTech82 Very true, America is a double edged sword. We have almost too much freedom. In every big metropolis (NYC, LA, San Francisco, Miami) you have completely safe areas like you have in your country and very dangerous areas where the poor live which prey on the people with money and no means to defend that wealth. If we banned guns today, the criminals would just revert to preying on their victims with knives unfortunately. Ironically cities that allow people to carry guns have less crime?
At the indoor range my Sigma 40s pattern was so consistently tight that it embarrassed the big black guy shooting next to me, with whatever handgun he was using.
@hipoint45 I dont know? I would guess not since Glock mags are steel coated with a layer of plastic while the Sigma is just steel. I could be wrong though?
I have the sigma .40 cal. and I love it. I can shoot it well and it is an accurate gun I leave it home as my home protection gun partly because it the largest caliber gun I have and its a little too big to carry anyway. Nice vid Just subbed.
@falcon2160 You could always buy a used Gen4 Glock (to save a little money) . Gen4 Glocks allow you to switch over the mag release? Just save up about another $150.
@mixflip Yea sorry about that i was talking about the sigma... but does the trigger take a while to get use to or do you barely notice the heavy pull?
@xWiredTx If you are an experienced revolver shooter then its nothing. If you are used to shooting Glocks which have a famously awesome trigger reset and a light 5.5lb pull then you will notice the heavy and spongy feel of the Sigma. A defensive gun used in a fight for your life...you will never even notice the trigger pull or stubbing your toe for that matter. You'll be so pumped full of adrenaline it wont matter.
it crazy how people say a certain gun dont fit their hand. make your hand fit the gun. your hand will fit any handgun ever made if you just pick it up and squeeze your hand around it. people that say it dont feel comfortable, just set it down after shooting. it dont matter what size guns or hands you have they will all fit.
@earlycuyler690 Have you ever held a desert eagle? or a Glock 21? They are both huge guns with really big grips that my wife cant hold properly. People have different sized hands and have different strength and skills so a proper fitting grip can make a HUGE difference. Everybody can fit in a car but you need the right car for a speed track vs 4x4 off road tracks.
This is such a great review. Great because of your objective analysis and first hand knowledge and experience with these weapons. I don't own either of these guns but I appreciate your honest and unbiased comparison. Thanks.
I have the Sigma 9mm, awesome weapon, never a malfunction after 600 rounds, and I bought it used. I removed the butterfly spring out of the trigger mechanism to lighten the pull a tad, and the hard pull, you can get used to. This is a magnificent weapon and YES, it feels great in the hand and shoots superbly. Again, awesome weapn. Will never sell or trade it.
I don't mind the heavy trigger pull and I gotta say stop hating on the sigma if you don't own one. I just wanna know if you can shoot the sigma under water like a glock? I haven't tryed it yet.
@mixflip, i hit you up maybe about 2months ago about the sigma. I went ahead and bought it. I love it. I actually qualified for my chl with this weapon. teh trigger was alil different at first. but im used to it now. im pretty accurate with it as well.
i bought one of theese shot it maby 300 times, the trigger sucks so bad its not funny save 200 more bucks and buy a glock 19 youll be glad you did!!!!!!!!
@RustyGunsM10 I guess I got lucky because the trigger wasnt that bad on mine? It felt like a squishy heavy revolver trigger. I grew up shooting my dads revolvers so heavy triggers arent new to me. Younger guys usually dont like heavy triggers since they dont have much revolver experience, I noticed.
@RustyGunsM10 really? i'm torn between getting a SW40VE or a Glock 23 as my cc sidearm. definitely i'm getting a .40 so it comes down to these two. thanks!
@eazdollaz If you have kids then you really should have gun locks or keep them in a safe. A safety lever on the gun will not stop a child from accidentally shooting them self or a friend or sibling. That is a sad proven fact. Keeping a loaded gun near children with no trigger lock or not in a safe is very dangerous.
I apologize if you took this as criticism of the video. I am just addressing comments here and elsewhere concerning the semi-loaded striker and the desire for an easy trigger and quicker reset.
Any serious encounter in which an individual is forced to draw or utilize a weapon will or may result in a loss of fine motor skills, tunnel vision, loss of auditory input. The US Bureau of Prisons obviously understands the issue and purchased a large number of Ruger DAO.
Semi-skilled officers and people who have been to a "certified instructor" think that they should be carrying one of these. You're wrong in a very dangerous way. Review the Oakland BART video wherein a "two year veteran" accidentally fires a SIG. It's not even possible to accidentally pull that trigger, yet cops do it.
@wmaught7 Huh? One of what? There are 2 guns in this video, which one are you referring to? And how am I wrong in a dangerous way exactly? Also, cops arent the only human being on the planet that have ever had a negligent discharge of a fire arm so I dont really understand your comments? Can you please make a video response to my video so we can clearly understand what you are trying to convey? @mixflip I noticed my physical check loaded chamber indicator does not bump out on mine. It is flush whether the chamber is loaded or not.
citrano2012 2 weeks ago
@citrano2012 As far as I know there should only be a port hole on the top of the chamber to allow you to see brass loaded or not loaded, on the S&W. The external extractor claw is not technically a chamber check indicator so I would not use it as a physical check. Maybe the ammo you are using doesnt have a significant case lip to push the extractor out to where you can notice it?
mixflip 2 weeks ago
@mixflip No I have tried different types of ammo, I mostly use 180 gr FMJ by either Federal or Hornady 40 S&W 180 gr XTP for carry. I was commenting that your video had stated that that has a visual check on the side but it never extracts at all but I can see the round in the port hole, yes.

This is a great gun!! I have owned 3 glocks, 23, 22, and a 30. The 18 degree grip angle is perfect in my hand, I don't find myself readjusting my grip on follow up shots. For the $269.00 I paid brand new, it's a winner.

@1505tow Hey was looking to pick this gun up and was wondering where you got it for $269. Cheapest I can find is 309 at buds.

Hevex77 4 weeks ago

Hevex77 4 weeks ago
@Hevex77 They both come in a few of the same calibers. You cant simply say one if better than the other. Thats a mistake many gun guys make when they get into guns. Guns fit people uniquely just like shoes. My choice of shoe doesnt mean its better than your shoes. My needs and expectations are different than yours so I cant just say 1 gun is perfect for all occasions.
mixflip 4 weeks ago
@mixflip I totally understand your position in this and I agree..There are many attractive features to both handguns..Overall,I am still on the fence about it and hopefully I will find the deciding factors to make a final decision..I want to thankyou for your advise and help..Maybe you can post a video explaining the two guns..LOL!!Thanks again:)

I just purchased one. I don't care for the 14 lb trigger pull. I'm much more accurate with my Glock 23.

@76Stankfinger Do the pig tail spring modification and it will turn out just right. And its free.
mixflip 2 months ago
@76Stankfinger Mine states a 9 lb trigger pull. However, I love it!
politicjunkee 1 month ago
I have a Sigma 9mm, and S&W got everything right about the gun, but the trigger. I can't hit the broad side of a barn with it because of the 8 lb trigger pull. Give me the same ammo with my XDm (about a 4 lb trigger), and I'll put rounds on target all day long. I've read about people taking springs out of the trigger and watched a few YouTube videos. Any comments on how it improves the accuracy of the gun? I've also shot Glocks, and I don't like the grips. Too large IMHO.
bbalak 3 months ago
@bbalak Please dont take offense to this but folks have been shooting 10 pound triggers for decades with revolvers. Its a training issue. There is a whole generation that never learned how to shoot revolvers and it shows when folks say they arent accurate with a heavy trigger. Heavy triggers are actually preferred for defensive shooting hence the NY trigger that the NYD requested on their issued Glocks. Adrenaline will erase any memory of how heavy a trigger is in a fight for your life.
mixflip 3 months ago
@mixflip None taken, and I see your point.
bbalak 3 months ago

Thats why I made this video.
mixflip 3 months ago
@mixflip Thats so true....... pros n cons to even the glocks n 1911's out there but most people mix quality with price. Do you think a glock 19 holster would fit my sigma?

@naedanger123 Thanks for watching mate. 20 years ago I worked along side some British sailors. They were cool dudes. I couldnt believe the British Navy actually let them have a beer break at sea!!! So sad.

@mixflip Yeah... Anyway, thanks for your support and your vid. I miss trying out the Glock 21 and the SIG P226... Oh well. Maybe our politicians will come to their senses and bring back handguns. I have the nagging feeling that this is wishful thinking though.

The only down side I have with the sigma I own is that the trigger pull is to heavy for my wife to use comfortably. She finds it more comfortable to use two fingers just to pull the trigger. Other wise I love my sigma and it serves its purpose for a low price.

this ia a awsome gun for the money, i highly recommend this for any1 one lookin for somethin reliable and accurate, i will be getn a glock soon but i will b keeping my sigma. thats how much i like it, hope this helps ppl. an most likely it will jamm if you cant keep ur fingers off the slide when you shoot, same for ant pistol. an there is a trigger mod on utube, i would only take the pig tale out tho, tried and tested, trust me ppl, just the pig tale, and there r plenty off accessoriues for it
TheFloridaboy86 4 months ago
1st of all this is with all respest an my personal opinion. i own a sigma 9mm ve, i have put about 400 hundread rounds an not 1 jam or malfunction, it jammed 1 time an i let my wifes cousin shoot an she had her finger to close or on the slide causing it to jam,my wife fired has used it an never jammed, could b the operater, i love the gun an wickedly accurate, i give it a 9 an not a ten b/c i would like it solid blk for concealment. other than that it workd flawlessly...
TheFloridaboy86 4 months ago 6
@TheFloridaboy86 Thats a common malfunction with many semiauto handguns not just the Sigma. A weak grip or a finger that hits the slide stop lever can both cause a malfunction that is 100% not the gun fault. I think this video proves that many people have had good experiences with the Sigma. Many good replies and thumbs up. Thanks for watching.

Glock is really nice. It is a bit of a name that you are buying. Big aftermarket too. I have a Hi Point and this will be like a real huge improvement for me. This is a good firearm. I rented it at a range and tried it. DAO is not a huge issue.
bigphreaking 4 months ago
I own this sigma and for the price its been very good to me, two of my friends shoot glocks and they are very good guns. But i wouldnt say they are much better than my sigma, i prefer the feel of mine as mentioned in this video. in the end it depends on what you are buying the gun for. If you plan on shooting underwater and going through thousands of rounds spend the money on the glock. If you are looking for something to take to the range every now and then and self/home defense, pick the S&W
cooper8318 4 months ago

S&W SVE40
So sick and tired of all the ignorant lies against this pistol.
death2pc 5 months ago
The only thing I don't like about stock Sigmas is the horribly heavy triggerpull...but this is a pretty easy fix. Unfortunately though you'll see people bash on just about every gun frame out there, even the 1911 though it'll cause a great deal of geriatric, "American do no wrong" Rednecks to fly out of the woodwork. Heck I've gotten 3" groups from a .45 HiPoint offhand at 25 yards with Federal 230 Walmart specials, and even when the gun was hot it took about 5 fast-clip rapid fires to jam.
IcabodCrane 4 months ago
@IcabodCrane
It's a good pistol.
death2pc 4 months ago
@death2pc
I still find them to be a bit on the heavy side due to the feel of the trigger itself...but I'm an oddball who likes the feel of Dan Wesson DA revolvers so I'm not exactly the person most want to base their opinions on.
IcabodCrane 4 months ago
You get what you pay for.
hmmchowell 6 months ago
had one....pos. bad trigger, bad group, jams..pos. Use a big stick for personal defense before you count on this gun. Using it as a paper weight is an insult to paper. Comparing it to a Glock is like comparing chicken shit to chicken soup.
bmiller0000 6 months ago
@bmiller0000 I always say test every gun before you trust it even if its a $2000 1911. Saying that ALL Sigmas are pos's is one of the myths and lies I made this video for. I am a Glock guy and have experienced jams with Glocks. I have experienced jams with AK's and AR15's. I have been jumped by racist white people once when I was growing up in California...are all whites racist? No. My point is not all Sigmas are pos's. Im sorry you had one.Did it have broken parts? Was it maintained properly?
mixflip 6 months ago
@mixflip Didn't say they were all bad. 100% of the ones I've handled have been POS. Sent mine back to the factory, came back with same problems. S&W said I was gripping it wrong?? With a 15#, too long trigger pull, you have to grip it tight with both hands just to get it to discharge. So...S&W is a POS and so are the S&W products I've handled.
bmiller0000 6 months ago
@bmiller0000 Sorry to hear that. It happens. I have seen Glocks break, I recently saw a Colt AR15 fail and I saw a $2500 LMT with a suppressor fail at media day 2011 malfunction. It happens to ever gun company I guess? Would I buy another Sigma? No not for full price. $100? Then yes.
mixflip 6 months ago
@bmiller0000 so what your saying is you shoot like a bitch. i am a Sigma owner. basiclly glock viewed S&M as threat which they were and thus this why they tried suing. if you know anything about how to shoot you.... um well you would know how to shoot basically. it took me i think 2 mags to get a good group with the sigma. once i got it down after about 100 rounds my group was even tighter. the sigma is not a point and shoot pistol and you would know this again if you knew how to shoot.

TheGreatBooger 5 months ago
@TheGreatBooger Oh my goodness. Aren't you special?
bmiller0000 5 months ago
Respond to this video... oh and as far asthe trigger pull and length. again if you knew anything about weapons you know you can have that fixed by having a gunsmith adjust it. hell theres even vids on here on how to do it. and you can buy the kit off of ebay to do it yourself. basically what im trying to say is... and ill be nice about this is YOUR A BITCH. and well the sigma is not a bitch weapon.
TheGreatBooger 5 months ago
@bmiller0000
IcabodCrane 4 months ago
@IcabodCrane ...never said I like glocks or chicken soup. IMO...both are far better than the alternative. On a tangent, I did get to shoot an old, worn out Sig in 9mm, and it was still a babydoll of a handgun. I pick the Sig over both. Pretty cool that you did not go to name calling and questioning the ethnicity of my granny. Seems that is what all of the cool kids (Booger) on YouTube are doing these days.
bmiller0000 4 months ago
@bmiller0000
They're the triple lock pistols, and fetch Korrofila prices.

faffaflunkie 7 months ago
own one, shoot one, rely on it. never had a problem, great accuracy, and no problem with trigger pull. i traded my G-26 for this and do not regret it for one second!
gr8gmblr 7 months ago
A Glock reminds me of a Surefire flashlight. At one time it was the leader in flashlight technology. Now there is Fenix flashlights for a fraction of the price and just as good if not better performance. Glock vs Sigma in my opinion is the same type of deal. You can buy the Sigma for half the price as the glock with nearly even performance if not better in some ways. Glock owners will always talk down on a Sigma because they spent double the price than they had to. Glock is over priced.
chadj79 7 months ago
@chadj79 Good point. I actually still believe Glocks are a better gun but not leaps and bounds better. Just better. Luckily you can buy a used Glock now for about $350 to $400 which isnt much more than a Sigma.
mixflip 7 months ago
@chadj79 The Glock is more like a Maglite-it will work as advertised-but it works much better as a paperweight.
faffaflunkie 7 months ago
I do agree with all of your assessments. I have both Sigmas (pre-litagation & post-litagation). & the Glocks. You got it right on the ergonomics of the Sigma.I sent my Post-litagation 9mm Sigma to S&W- In Texas they have this gunsmith who goes nothing but make the Sigma trigger less-gritty & as smooth as he can. When I got it back & shot it - the difference was very noticeable - However it will never be a nice shooter with that "sweet spot". So, for now both Sigmas sit in the box. THX. JAMES.
buzzclark 8 months ago
I just picked one of these in .40 up at the local box store for $279. I did a little research on it before I bought it and the biggest problem people seem to have is the stiff trigger. So at that price I figured I really couldn't go wrong. It is the cheapest pistol I've ever purchased, and so far I'm actually impressed. I think it will be a pretty good pistol for the money.
dphitch 8 months ago
@dphitch You can modify the trigger so it will be lighter. Look up the video it's on youtube. It drops the weight on the trigger about 2-3 pounds
MrCHRISDOGGG 7 months ago
I have to beg ti differ, I have owned both. the sigma was alright. It was not the most accurate gun in the world. I traded mine for a Ruger p95, then traded it for a glock 19 NIB, the glock just feels great in my hand. The Glock 19 has a 3 pound trigger pull, and it is a lot more accurate, and has less recoil. Gen 4. I love it, glad I traded a ruger and 150 bucks for the glock. I owned both the .40, and 9mm sigma.
isamtator 9 months ago
@isamtator I am just sharing my personal opinions and I never once claim the Sigma is "better" than a Glock. I merely say that Sigmas are not absolute junk like folks try to claim them to be. I agree the Glock is a better gun overall and thats why I carry a G26 7 days a week. As for the Glock trigger being 3 pounds? Its 5.5lbs unless you altered it? You should have a hair trigger on a defensive gun hence the NY trigger that cops requested years ago on the 1st Glocks issued to NYPD.
mixflip 9 months ago
@mixflip The pawn shop I bought it from, tested the the triger pull, with a scale it said 3.8 pounds to triger it, and the smith he had was 8 pounds to pull. I dont know if his scale was off or what.
I liked em just wanted the real glock, and got to where I could afford one. I fell in love with it, I know its wierd, but it is true. I might buy from now on nothing but glocks becouse of my glock 19.
isamtator 9 months ago
@isamtator Ooops I meant to say "should not" have a hair trigger on a defensive gun hence the NY trigger on the NYPD issued Glocks. I guess they had one too many negligent discharges either when holstering or when pointed at a bad guy? In my opinion 3.8 pounds is too light for CCW or open carry work. I agree Glock srock but life is too short to not experience other guns. My M&P40 is probably a better gun than a G17 in my opinion. Guns are like shoes. What fits me doesnt mean it is best for you.

@mixflip when your in trouble and need a gun and a sigma is the only thing you have to protect you. are you gonna complain then?? I think not.
IamMaiC 8 months ago
@IamMaiC That is obviously a whole different set of circumstances. If my life was in danger I would be thankful to have anything! And for the record Im not complaining about either gun.

@mixflip yes!!! every weapon has it's flaws and it's greatness! but i have had no problems with my sigma 400 plus rounds downrange. but i don't run around saying this is great and that is shit. because i don't know! until i shoot a glock or anyother weapon i will comment on what i know.
IamMaiC 8 months ago
@IamMaiC I dont understand? Are you accusing me of walking around and saying this is better than that? All I am showing is the pro's and con's of both guns (that I actually own) from my personal experience with them. Its just a video of my opinions. What exactly are you angry at?
mixflip 8 months ago
@mixflip who said i was angry. i agree with you!! im just stating that i don't know about the glock. i never fired one. i have heard crap from other guys at shooting ranges and such about the sigma. I have had no problems with it. so are these people angry that it resembles a glock. or that it may for it's price be a dependable weapon and they are angry at that? all i know is this if i need to use my sigma i know it will perfrom.
IamMaiC 8 months ago

Gourmetbooger 9 months ago
@Gourmetbooger Glad to be of help. Revolver shooters always do well with guns that have heavy triggers. Its the spoiled trigger divas that suck as soon as they have to shoot anything with more than 5lbs of trigger pull. Good shooting!
mixflip 9 months ago
I bought a 686 Smith revolver at a good price with intentions of resale. I had it for about 15hrs, sold it at a gun show, took the profit from the 686 and put on a Sigma. I am out of pocket $150 on the Sigma. I am tired of reading crappy comments on the Sigma myself. I have not had one problem with mine. People complain about the trigger, which is stiff, but so are 99% of DAO pistols. That is just a trait that a DAO pistol has.

which is better glock or 9mm?
which is better glock or 6mm?
and please tell me why (= thanks alot!
MrVindo123 9 months ago
@MrVindo123 Glock is not a millimeter. Glock is a gun that comes is various calibers so I dont really undestand your question "which is better Glock or 9mm?"
mixflip 9 months ago
@mixflip well which is better at shooting..
MrVindo123 9 months ago
@MrVindo123 I cant answer that for you. I might shoot my Glock better than a S&W...but the next guy might shoot his S&W better than a Glock. Guns are like shoes, you have to shoot them to get a feel for which one fits you best. Just because you really like a Desert Eagle 50 caliber handgun that you see in the movies doesnt mean you can shoot it accurately in real life. Accuracy is often within the shooter more so than in the gun. A good marksman can shoot well with all guns.
mixflip 9 months ago
@mixflip aight thanks bro!
MrVindo123 9 months ago
why the fuck would you compare a sigma to a glock?!??!?! thats like comparing a kia to a rolls royce.
blaziankhmer 9 months ago
@blaziankhmer Why? Because they are both polymer guns, both are double action only, both are striker fired, both are field stripped the same way, both have hinged triggers, both are chambered in 9mm and 40cal, both can be bought for about the same money (Sigma $350 new Glock $400 used) and finally...S&W was sued by Glock for copyright infringement because they are designed almost identical internally. Thats why...Glocks are good but they are not the Rolls Royce of the firearms world. HK's maybe?
mixflip 9 months ago 2
@mixflip well ok that was maybe bad saying rolls royce, but ive read so many reviews for it and they weren't so good. so i decided to get the SR9 instead. but i heard that the new SD models are pretty good. sorry if i came off a little rough bro. my buddy just picked up a glock 22 yesterday and it is a so well made. makes me want one, but i decided to pick up a stag arms model yesterday instead. for 300 dollars did you ever considered the ruger p95?
blaziankhmer 9 months ago
@blaziankhmer Like i always say, get what ever works for you. There is no such thing as a perfect gun. i own 2 Glocks and i carry a Glock26 7 days a week. i love Glocks! My point of the video was that S&W's/Sigma's arent the pieces of crap the haters try to make them out to be. Thats all. I am not claiming Sigmas are a top shelf gun...i am just pointing out that they arent junk.
mixflip 9 months ago

MASTERBLASTER118 9 months ago
boner for your cheap sigma? I've owned both and the quality of the glock does not compare to the cheapness in quality of a sigma. The glock will shoot fine after thousands of rounds, sigmas start burning out more quickly.

Thanks for the video.. I just purchased a Sigma 40.. (the price was right) in spite of what I have read about it.. Havent shot it yet but looking forward to it. I had a Glock but didnt like the way it felt in my hand.. I can tell you this,, The Sigma feel a lot better than the Glock did..
vrollen 9 months ago
@vrollen As legendary and great Glocks are...they arent perfect for every person. No gun is. Glocks are basically a victim of their own success. I agree my Sigma did feel better in my hands than my G19 but that one fact still didnt translate into a more accurate gun for me personally. The Sigma is a good gun as long as you get it for a cheap price. I wouldnt pay $400 for one though.
mixflip 9 months ago
@mixflip best feel in hand for me is the SR9 and the XD.
blaziankhmer 9 months ago
its a good enough gun for the price..i used too have one and you wouldnt go wrong for it being your first gun
187Kdogg 9 months ago
This report seems very bias. Does Smith give you a percentage of sales? I'm sure the Sigma is a good gun, but why would you have to make up problems with the Glock to make the Sigma look better. Almost all your complaints about the Glock is a preferance and not a true complaint/problem with the Glock.
lanlesnee 9 months ago
@lanlesnee How is a preference not a true problem? If a certain feature bugs me then guess what it is a problem for me. Just because you are insulted by my opinion or dont agree with it doesnt make the issue go away? I dont think its biased at all. I think its honest and truthful. Fyi, I own several Glocks and carry a Glock 26 7 days a weeks. I love Glocks but I am not a Glock fanboy who ignores its potential negatives. Did you miss the part where I said I bought the Sigma used for only $150?
mixflip 9 months ago
@lanlesnee Also, the video is just about my opinion. I never claim to be teaching the world that the Sigma is a best gun on Earth. Its not anywhere near as good a gun as a Glock and I never say it is. On that note Glocks arent perfect for every person on the planet either. And for the record this is a very old video of mine and I have long since sold the Sigma and I probably wont buy another one unless I get it for $150 again? I think guys get too emotional about their guns? They are just tools
mixflip 9 months ago
@mixflip yes, it sad that people get too emotional about their guns and your right, they are tools.
So are you a Police officer or in the forces to have to carry a gun 7 days a week?
Or is that just the American way?
MechTech82 9 months ago
@MechTech82 I am in deed a police officer, I am also a military veteran and yes it is very much the American way thanks to our Constitution and the 2nd Amendment which is our right for legal law abiding American citizens to own firearms to defend themselves. I dont see any fault in our 2nd amd rights or any fault in the freedom of self defense? Molitov cocktails and pipe bombs are banned in Belfast yet they are still used in violent crimes. The real root of the issue is "people" not weapons.
mixflip 9 months ago
@mixflip Point taken. It's Just a shame that there are soo many disturbed people in this world that cause the "law abiding citizens" to have to use a gun for self defence. Fortunately I live in a country where we don't need to carry a gun to feel safe while walking the streets, the only time I will need to, is if I'm defending my country, and hopefully it will never come to that.
Good tutorials by the way.
MechTech82 9 months ago
@MechTech82 Very true, America is a double edged sword. We have almost too much freedom. In every big metropolis (NYC, LA, San Francisco, Miami) you have completely safe areas like you have in your country and very dangerous areas where the poor live which prey on the people with money and no means to defend that wealth. If we banned guns today, the criminals would just revert to preying on their victims with knives unfortunately. Ironically cities that allow people to carry guns have less crime?
mixflip 9 months ago
@mixflip it's a cruel world, got to do what you need to survive. Peace
MechTech82 9 months ago
At the indoor range my Sigma 40s pattern was so consistently tight that it embarrassed the big black guy shooting next to me, with whatever handgun he was using.

can you flip flop mags glock in sigma and sigma in glock?
hipoint45 10 months ago
@hipoint45 I dont know? I would guess not since Glock mags are steel coated with a layer of plastic while the Sigma is just steel. I could be wrong though?
mixflip 10 months ago
thank you Sir! much help... ill be getting the s&w now thanks to your vid!!!
Tommythecat01 10 months ago
I have the sigma .40 cal. and I love it. I can shoot it well and it is an accurate gun I leave it home as my home protection gun partly because it the largest caliber gun I have and its a little too big to carry anyway. Nice vid Just subbed.
biggunguy1 10 months ago
very very helpful... on my way to buy my sw9ve!
jdavissings 10 months ago
I'm a leftie and the Sigma only comes in RH model I think. Any comments?
falcon2160 11 months ago
@falcon2160 You could always buy a used Gen4 Glock (to save a little money) . Gen4 Glocks allow you to switch over the mag release? Just save up about another $150.
mixflip 11 months ago
i have both as well, Glock wins by a landslide, but the sigma is a good economy gun. S&W really hasnt made a bad gun
Michael117american 11 months ago
sigma .380 sw380 and the sw9 7rd single stack
zinc diecast blowback like a hipoint
turboMATRIX03 10 months ago
This may be a dumb question but can you interchange the barrels on the glock 22 and the sigma?
troutslayrz 11 months ago
the older sigma had a 4.5inch barrel like a glock 17 and 22 the new version has a 4inch barrel
turboMATRIX03 10 months ago
how sensitive is the trigger?
xWiredTx 11 months ago
@xWiredTx The S&W? Its infamously heavy. About 10 lbs. give or take.
mixflip 11 months ago
@mixflip Yea sorry about that i was talking about the sigma... but does the trigger take a while to get use to or do you barely notice the heavy pull?
xWiredTx 11 months ago
@xWiredTx If you are an experienced revolver shooter then its nothing. If you are used to shooting Glocks which have a famously awesome trigger reset and a light 5.5lb pull then you will notice the heavy and spongy feel of the Sigma. A defensive gun used in a fight for your life...you will never even notice the trigger pull or stubbing your toe for that matter. You'll be so pumped full of adrenaline it wont matter.
mixflip 11 months ago
@mixflip haha now thats a real answer thank you
xWiredTx 11 months ago
@mixflip so does the glock weigh less then than sigma or witch one is lighter the glock 19 or the sigma 40 cal? anyone
83assasin 11 months ago
it crazy how people say a certain gun dont fit their hand. make your hand fit the gun. your hand will fit any handgun ever made if you just pick it up and squeeze your hand around it. people that say it dont feel comfortable, just set it down after shooting. it dont matter what size guns or hands you have they will all fit.
earlycuyler690 11 months ago
@earlycuyler690 Have you ever held a desert eagle? or a Glock 21? They are both huge guns with really big grips that my wife cant hold properly. People have different sized hands and have different strength and skills so a proper fitting grip can make a HUGE difference. Everybody can fit in a car but you need the right car for a speed track vs 4x4 off road tracks.
mixflip 11 months ago
This is such a great review. Great because of your objective analysis and first hand knowledge and experience with these weapons. I don't own either of these guns but I appreciate your honest and unbiased comparison. Thanks.
cpratt1976 11 months ago
I have the Sigma 9mm, awesome weapon, never a malfunction after 600 rounds, and I bought it used. I removed the butterfly spring out of the trigger mechanism to lighten the pull a tad, and the hard pull, you can get used to. This is a magnificent weapon and YES, it feels great in the hand and shoots superbly. Again, awesome weapn. Will never sell or trade it.
oldairforcedude 11 months ago
I don't mind the heavy trigger pull and I gotta say stop hating on the sigma if you don't own one. I just wanna know if you can shoot the sigma under water like a glock? I haven't tryed it yet.
dreamz20091 11 months ago
can you do a sr9 vs a glock?
blaziankhmer 11 months ago
@blaziankhmer I would if I owned an SR9 or knew someone with one?
mixflip 11 months ago
@mixflip, i hit you up maybe about 2months ago about the sigma. I went ahead and bought it. I love it. I actually qualified for my chl with this weapon. teh trigger was alil different at first. but im used to it now. im pretty accurate with it as well.
illshootani99a 1 year ago
@illshootani99a Good to hear. Yeah the trigger isnt great but it works well enough to get the job done. Congrats on the new conceal license.
mixflip 1 year ago
I like Glock.
maijeen 1 year ago
i bought one of theese shot it maby 300 times, the trigger sucks so bad its not funny save 200 more bucks and buy a glock 19 youll be glad you did!!!!!!!!
RustyGunsM10 1 year ago
@RustyGunsM10 I guess I got lucky because the trigger wasnt that bad on mine? It felt like a squishy heavy revolver trigger. I grew up shooting my dads revolvers so heavy triggers arent new to me. Younger guys usually dont like heavy triggers since they dont have much revolver experience, I noticed.
mixflip 1 year ago
@RustyGunsM10 really? i'm torn between getting a SW40VE or a Glock 23 as my cc sidearm. definitely i'm getting a .40 so it comes down to these two. thanks!

thinking about getting a sigma, where is a good place to get one cheap?
tedoo1 1 year ago
you paid $300 for your sigma, I paid $400 for mine!
friendlybusiness4u 1 year ago
@friendlybusiness4u If your comment was meant for me? I got my Sigma for $150 used. Not $300. I got a killer deal.

@mixflip U lucky bastard!

@mixflip $150!!! dayum.. that's good pricing.
torontothegood 1 year ago
The thing I dislike about the Sigma is the fact that it does not have a safer safty.. I have kids so you know always safe to be safe...
eazdollaz 1 year ago
@eazdollaz If you have kids then you really should have gun locks or keep them in a safe. A safety lever on the gun will not stop a child from accidentally shooting them self or a friend or sibling. That is a sad proven fact. Keeping a loaded gun near children with no trigger lock or not in a safe is very dangerous.
mixflip 1 year ago
The ONLY thing I don't like about my sigma is the two tone color scheme
voodazz 1 year ago
I apologize if you took this as criticism of the video. I am just addressing comments here and elsewhere concerning the semi-loaded striker and the desire for an easy trigger and quicker reset.
wmaught7 1 year ago
I have a G-23 and a Sigma 40 and i love the sigma. My sigma is alot more comfortable and reliable. my glock's jammed more than my sigma
Caseyr0206 1 year ago
Any serious encounter in which an individual is forced to draw or utilize a weapon will or may result in a loss of fine motor skills, tunnel vision, loss of auditory input. The US Bureau of Prisons obviously understands the issue and purchased a large number of Ruger DAO.
wmaught7 1 year ago
Semi-skilled officers and people who have been to a "certified instructor" think that they should be carrying one of these. You're wrong in a very dangerous way. Review the Oakland BART video wherein a "two year veteran" accidentally fires a SIG. It's not even possible to accidentally pull that trigger, yet cops do it.
wmaught7 1 year ago
@wmaught7 Huh? One of what? There are 2 guns in this video, which one are you referring to? And how am I wrong in a dangerous way exactly? Also, cops arent the only human being on the planet that have ever had a negligent discharge of a fire arm so I dont really understand your comments? Can you please make a video response to my video so we can clearly understand what you are trying to convey? Are you even talking to me or are you trying to respond to someone elses comments about my video?

the sigmas recoil and trigger i dont like.. evreything else was ok
