Elvis **defined** R&R but there's never, ever a paean for the Jordanaires, Elvis' ubiquitous backup vocalists. Crank it and fee the TEXTURE !! Ya can't leave 'em out, it's the total package. : )
OMG I was so unwise to think that Ray Charles was the only good version...smiles...how wrong was I as there are 5 versions...all have their very special style and I have to confess there really is not a great deal of difference in all of the 5 versions as they are all so so beautiful love each version equally...Elvis, Hanks, Deans, Rays and Jerry's...smiles...all of equal quality. Thougth maybe Jerry's was a little more up tempo and dynamic...But the others had that beautiful charismatic quality
Great memories of laying down the needle on this opening track from a super cool album, ELVIS FOR EVERYONE. I was 14. The song and the album sound even greater today!
@driger888 he's still alive. I have talked to people who were at the funeral and Elvis looked like he was made out of wax- not only that, but he was melting. Dead people don't sweat :)
95% of teens these days listen to the same formulaic, crappy pop over and over again. If you're one of the 5% who still listens to real music, thumb this up, then copy and paste it to at least five videos. Don't let the spirit of rock and roll die!
@pawsjones i have that power, i've heard son house, muddy waters, hank williams, gene vincent, buddy holly and many more, the secret is, a great record collection or youtube.
@OGKush2010 I have a great record collection too an of course access to youtube, but I meant to be at one of his early shows to hear an see him perform.....
elvis is still alive he is my grandpa and he said he faked his death to get away from all the chaos of the music industry in fact he is in the living room now
AWESOME PICTURES! i love him so much!! so sad i wasn't alive during his time =/ would have killed to see him..such a beautiful person inside and out! rest in peace elvis, sweetheart, we love and miss you so much!
Many people say that Elvis was at his prime during the 68 Comeback, but i have to say that i think he was always in his prime. I hear songs from the beginning of his fame, all the way to the end and there is many great songs from every year :D
I'm actually looking for a portrait photo of Elvis in his early career years where he's really happy. I'd like to convert it into a tattoo portrait in black and white on the inside on my forearm. Anyone got any good photos?
@deatheater87 ..ewww. well if you want to do that,,,if you haven't already. Check out the 68 comeback special. That was Elvis in his prime....There is not a more perfect looking person...check out the aquiline nose...and the hair and the...just everything....And his sense of humour...and interacting with the audience...and have been told...he looked even better in person...how is that possible? So there you go....lol
MUCH AS I ENJOY HANK WILLIAMS.ELVIS IS THE DEFINATE KING OF MUSIC! SWEET VIDEO! HANK,EAT YOUR HEART OUT! LEAST YOU HAVE ELVIS TO SING WITHDAY N IGHT!!!
Elvis doesnt have even 1 single bad picture...........all of his pics are great and always looked sooooooooo handsome & sexy!what a beautiful man, beautiful voice......
Someone once said that nobody ever sang a Hank Williams song better than Hank himself. After hearing this great rendition of Cheatin Heart I am not so sure.
Nothing better than the King singing this great song by the Father of Country Music, Hank Williams. After you visit Graceland in Memphis; come on down to Montgomery and visit the Hank Williams Museum! bt
Elvis' rendition of this classic song is totally unique and fun. His version of this song is so very highly underrated and overlooked. I'm so very glad that Elvis decided to record this historic song. My favorite Elvis era will always be the 1950's. Elvis had the greatest ever start to a singing career. This video was absolutely perfect in every way, 10 Stars as always Jackie.
@ElvisSacramento Yeah he had his best success in the 50's, but I personally think his voice was it's best from 61 thru 63. Smooth like velvet with no effort it seemed.
Written by Hank Williams, Sr. Elvis recorded it February 1, 1958 at Radio Recorders. The commercial release was a splice betweent two or more takes. It is available on Elvis for Everyone, Welcome to My World, Great Country Songs, 50,000,000 Elvis Fans Cant Be Wrong, and The King of Rock n Roll-The Complete 50s Masters.
