  • Nice lesson Todd. I saw Simon Phillips with a video on this same exercise. Never thought of it in 9/4.

I have seen the Power Wrist Builders at the NAMM show. I don't think the shock that goes back into your forearms when using them is a good thing.

  • @gbc520 Hi! .....and thanks for the kind comment and view............the "key" with these sticks is 1. Moderation and Limited Use on a daily basis (10-15 minutes) 2. Correct Technique. 3. Common Sense....I agree that if used wrong it's not a "good thing", .... however, ever since the early 1980's my former teachers taught me a great deal, even back then with a certain daily use of aluminum sticks in our practice schedules on a pad! Thanks again and good luck on your drumming. Todd Walker

  • No....I have been at it 31 years! However, I really concentrate on being as relaxed as possible regardless of tempo/style. Thanks again!

  • Cheers!

  • Hey Todd,

After playing for many years myself, the joints in my fingers tend to now ache. I use match grip, and use the proper grip technique. Do you have similar problems...now we're becoming old farts an all.

There are a lot of great drummers well past forty.

    Wicked technique btw, loved it.

  • wipe out's just single stroke 16th notes, although a similar sound, these paradiddles would sound amazing round the kit and are much harder to play.
