  • Give the kid a break she is just starting out she will be great in her own time, let's face it she has the guitar down she can only get better.

  • would a ugly chic whop layed btter get any attention?

  • Its a shame theyve turned her into a Pop Star and is destroying what little originality she has!

  • @icabodcranium true true... i like some of her covers and playing style, but her own songs are just pop shit... sadly..

  • It never ceases to amaze me how nasty people are willing to be to others that don't share their opinion of a song or artist. As if anyone's opinion is intellectually superior or in some way more valid. If you don't like a song, don't buy it. That's the only vote you get. Shut up. Do you really think you can change someone's opinion by swearing at them, insulting them or suggesting they die? If you do, I can't help but think your age and/or IQ must be pretty close to your shoe size.

  • @bob44039 Amen to that !! Very well said.

  • one badass ozzy guitarest

  • I saw her play with Alice Cooper late last year. She is a good guitarist, woman or otherwise.

  • Sounds way too poppy for me. What the hell... Terrible rendition. The original is so raw and natural.. no voice effects either, ew. Something about older music completely stomps new music. I can't put my finger on it... Even if today's artists were as talented the music just would not be as great. Sad, tsk tsk

  • Ori is amazing!!! love you!!!

  • she can play...nuff said

  • @Pizuzuzimmer Gee I guess you told me....Well, when you play music in clubs, jackass, if people dont dance, they dont drink, they dont drink, band doesnt get paid..and NO SHIT Cream didnt have people dancing..Not that kinda show..moron...Pull your head out of your fucking ass...

  • Pizuzuzimmer.......I don't understand why you have to be so "deep".....who cares about all that "shit"? Just enjoy the music and the talent. If you are feeling left out, then just go out there and do the same thing that she did.

  • @MrEastern021 I guess this moron has never heard of "artist interpretation"

Plus, I seriously doubt Clapton is losing sleep over this rendition...

Oh yeah..BTW...Didnt he change "Layla"?? Funny how this asswipe isnt bitching about "shitting over classic material" on that one

  • This young lady is Good News.

  • @Pizuzuzimmer the woman has chops for days she and steve vai masterminded her pop-rock look and approach for mass appeal and an attempt to stir the curiosity of the tennie boppers in music of substance. a lot of comments calling for people to be shot here .yt has a lot of musical intolerance like the religious and political intolerance i see elsewhere.

  • @LanceHelmut

OK, thanks for explaining. You need to be shot immediately.

  • @Pizuzuzimmer i have NEVER typed "lol" or "lmao" but i'm doing those things now..the kwuelest reply i've ever gotten in social media.

  • mmmmm... it becames like a pop song... i don't really like...... i think that the song lose his magic

  • she plays like she looks...

she looks like she plays :)

    Good bless You Orianthi

  • ...what an incredible guitarist and Lady!!! I'm in LOVE!!!!!

  • it's got a good beat and it's easy to dance to...the pop-rock guitar diva givin' the the tennie boppers classic rock dressed up just for them...hoo-ray !!

  • I watched her at a Crossroads concert and she played some serious blues, and you could feel the emotion from her heart and soul as she conveyed that thru her fingers to the guitar strings. It was a highlight to me!

    Lyndon

  • Best rendtion of Sunshine of My Love I've ever heard, bar none, and that includes guitar-god Eric Clapton. I loved the Clapton version that served as the background for DeNiro's hate stare in Goodfellas, but this is much more exciting!!! Can't get enough of it!!!

You can find the DeNiro clip here on youtube under Goodfellas - Jimmy Conway Smoking

  • wow .she plays greater than most proffesionist guitar players,

  • The woman is great at what she does. As for all you still playing in your garages & think you are better than her, get off your a** out of the garage & prove it, instead of putting down someone that can do what you CAN'T !! Orianthi will be showing you what you can't do for a long time to come !!!!

  • I love Orianthi. She was next to Michael ...and she is Greek. :)

  • she can play fast solos , but this shows she can't write music , or make an own interpretation of this song , just watch hendrix of sunshine of your love

  • Way overhyped guitarist imo, she's not bad, but nothing exeptional either. This is clearly just a good looking woman that happens to have got a promotional push from the right people, I know people that are way better players then she is, that still playing in their garages.

This is not the first time a women be brought to the table. Jennifer Batten had the same PR push in the 80's but she's way more talented then this chick. And the cover if this song is really just a overpruduced mess.

  • @TimPrettyWild I'm always VERY VERY supportive of female guitarists (for all those idiot doodz who say "chicks can't play guitar"- grow the fuck up!). I happen to totally agree with you re: Orianthi. Sure, she can wail, but there's more to it than that. She lacks "feel" and "soul" plus her own compositions fall flat. And this is a horrible, horrible cover of way-overproduced garbage going against EVERYTHING Clapton has EVER tried to communicate w/ his playing.

  • @TimPrettyWild plus I'll take Nancy Wilson's acoustic finger-picking any day!

  • An amazing female guitar player & vocal talent, fantastic rocking roll cover of this classic!

  • Orianthi is a phenomenal guitarist. I saw her a month or so ago with Alice Cooper. She shreds that PRS she plays! This girl has amazing talent and will be one to keep an eye on...She has Carlos Santana's highest endorsement, as well as Alice Cooper's. That's good enough for me!

  • Orianthi, has brought a new spin to the table. Love her music talent, and style.

  • This woman does not get the respect she deserves. I have never heard a woman play like this, ever!! Lot of people see guitar playing like this as the boy's club. I don't give a sh*t about gender as long as the sh*t sounds good, and this sounds awesome!! She can shred for me any day!!

  • @thevelvettip1110 Never heard a woman play like this? Crud, I've not heard many male rock stars play like this! She's in a class with Eddie and Jimmy...Beats the heck outta most folks playing guitar in "superstar" bands today. Orianthi is one of a kind...awesome musician. Not only can she play guitar like no one's business but she sings extremely well too.

  • Comment removed

  • @thevelvettip1110 Agreed, and I think this is just because she is a woman

If she were a man everybody would love her

because some stupid people think guitars are for men only

but she's so much better than people who hates on her

those people are jealous of her talent

And I think she doesn't care about them

she just dedicate to be happy doing what she loves

I love her, she is my hero

  • She is indeed one of the most capable guitarist< however I would love to see her lighter side, less shredding more feeling. I know she has it, i've seen her do it many times.

I think she does lots of shredding or wild solos, because people are impressed by it, it looks cool, but on cd shredding for the most part does not sit well with the tune on hand.

  • This is actually really good. I'm actually surprised...

  • i like the drums :)

  • she is an amazing guitarist, and she's really hot to.

  • @metalheadneji bacl off shes mine!! XD jk lol i wish

  • @metalheadneji Indeed !!!

She comes in one little perfect package !!

  • Not crazy about the arrangement, but she's got that blues guitar vibrato down. Damn that's fine. It's exciting. I wish more guitarists could do that.

  • Wow i like this version ... Hats off to Orianthi

  • The drummer is better than her Heart singer has a better voice and listent to Jack Wylde version and understand what is a pentatonic solo not the bullshit she's doin.

  • @whitemark1970

You mean ZAKK Wylde you retard...and don't hate on Orianthi, she's a BOSS!!

  • @whitemark1970 ...Zakk.

Also, Zakk Wylde is a bit shit compared to loads of guitarists...i dont even gat what your crap about the pentatonic is...she's doing a pastiche of the original clapton solo, and EVERY guitarist uses the pentatonic...

  • hot n awesome,,,,

  • Awesome guitarist, indeed! Best young player since SRV in the '80s and Hendrix in the '60s.........She's truly incredible.........wow!

  • You dissers...geez stop it! Look, when you do someone elses song, it is rude to mimic it lick for lick, you need to take it and make it your own, since the author absolutely must sign off on it before you can press it to plastic or burn it to disc...you gotta know they approve or at least see it as a useful bit of free market capitolism for the royalities. Orianthi is a fantastic talent, and whatever style she chooses to follow is her own business, as beautiful as she is talented she just rocks!

  • that is correct. quick fingers is not automatically guitarplaying with feeling. thats why i DONT like satriani, vai, etc.

  • turkey

  • I think it's a bit of a shame she didn't incorporate those small variations to the riff the way EC did in Cream. Also the solo doesn't pack nearly as much emotion as the original either. Quick fingers but leaves room for putting more behind the notes of choice.

  • I'm a HUGE Clapton fan and this saddens me.... She's a good guitar player but she should have left this song alone............

  • did she write this song? Or did she just redo it? i <3 Orianthi!!!

  • @tinyfourpaws LOL

    She covered/redone this song :P

I believe Cream originally wrote this song :D

  • @bosingr: you're right man - but the guitarsolo was brilliant! Unfortunately she does a lot of spears-like stuff. The wrong way for her i think. If i wouldt have been michael, i wouldt have picked her too for the "This is it" tour, and after the tour i would have married her...mmmmmmh...

  • With all due respect to Ori(cause I love her), I think this rendition is a little too fast. And a lil too pop-ish.

I understand her wanting to put her own mark on it, but think this sounds a little too pop-like. Like one guy was saying below, a little too Britney Spears. And I cringe at the mere thought of putting Spears in the same sentence as Cream or Eric Clapton.

  • very nice, i just started listening to her, i still think clapton did it better its more raw and... awesome but none the less very good cover :D

  • Anyone seen the John Norum version of this? =)

  • Love the song exept for the drums. Where is Ginger?

  • North Americans hate when some one from another country knows how to do it, what to do, when to do it and why, the best thing of Ori is that she is no Brittney or a Marylin Monroe, she is Ori, Ori is the best, she is humble, she is not full of it, she is the real deal, just swallow it babies!

  • What the fuck is this shit. Yes, everyone has their own interpretation but this just screams terrible over production and trying to Britney Spearsify a Cream song. This hurts.

  • @hjsnake94 agreed this is fucking prouced as fuck. Cream was essentially a 3 man garage band recorded live. wtf is this

  • I used to listen to the original when came out on vinyl. I actually like this better - high energy. I have this involuntary foot tapping going on here

  • Rad video! But she has an endorsement deal for Paul Reed Smith. Dunno wether or not Carlos gave her one..

  • Rad video!

  • show me another female that can swap lead with vai......amazing...she has feel unreal

  • I like this song and this cover is good, and don't get me wrong I love Ori however her guitar tone just ruins this for me .. along with the terrible drums.

  • The disco drumming ruins it.

  • The obvious autotuning on the vocals is killing me.

  • i love this song cuz "the cream" is one of my favorite band.

  • The Orianthi is Beautiful, it's very, very...

  • Very cool and cute too, thanks love and peace!!!:-)

  • I like the song, I like Orianthi, but I have to say I don't like the mix.

  • she ruined this video...GO LOOK UP MR. CLAPTON AND THEN YOU WILL KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!!!

  • for all of you dissing her, you need to shut up. shes a great guitarist and you're just jealous because she can play the guitar much better than you.

  • @Squirtleturtle3 Yeah! you tell them good comment.

  • @Squirtleturtle3 Yeah, everyone who criticizes anyone is just jealous of that person. Right.

No, sometimes people actually don't like things.

  • @Squirtleturtle3 If I could play a tenth of how well she plays, I'd be ecstatic!

  • @Squirtleturtle3

Go fucking die somewhere, you twit. No one is jealous of shit. People with taste and the ability to distinguish great art from horseshit are simply not going to jump around like cretins cheering when soulless hacks like this come along and shit all over classic material.

  • alguien sabe donde puedo descargar esta cancion??

Does anyone know where I can download this song?

  • i don't like this cover!! this song needs groove!!!

  • SHE'S HOT!!!!!!!

  • the drums r not supposed to b a major part of the song. its guitar and bass with slow drums

  • That is fucking horrible.

  • @phil531263 How? Please do enlighten us.

  • So......processed........can't...breathe.......

  • Orianthi is a great guitarist, but this is overproduced, way too poppy. She needs more songs like Highly Strung, where she only plays guitar. Or maybe she just needs a better producer, or needs to stop being a fucking poppy cunt.

  • Only women to look comfortable on a guitar

  • Hey, this song is from which album? or is just a single? can someone tell me?

  • @jmescortez It's on Believe(II) and on the UK version. I think it's just a re-release version of the album.

  • @DukeDanceum Yep, it's a re-release thank you.

  • Really cool sound blew my skull apart..

  • I dont realy like Orianthi but she's a good femal player 2 be honest but here voice screwed everything up srry:(

  • The drum beat really sounds like sh*t to my ears ! But the rest of the song sounds not too bad.

  • If Santana, Steve Vai, Eddie VH, B.B King and Lita Ford had a love child.....

Orianthi would be it. I cannot get enuf of this woman. Amazing. Inspiring. Blows me away EVERYTIME I watch her.... Keep on Rockin Ori xo

  • @ROCKINRACH1 santana is bad LOL

  • Thanx 4 posting this. I LOVE Orianthi. And I LOVE the pics u put 2 this song...

  • @ROCKINRACH1 : )

  • Her first few songs were way better.

  • sounds better than the original :D

  • @peytonsbigbro No song sounds better than the original mate

  • Wow I like this! orianthi was inspired by Santana if I'm correct and santana gave her that PRS guitar?

  • @zdarelight1 yes she's inspired by santana, im not sure about the guitar that she got

  • @JBJonasLoveProtector It is PRS just confirming

  • @zdarelight1 her dad got her a "2nd hand prs" ... rich parents i guess lol prs was never cheap

  • @zdarelight1 she was inspired by Santana so she bought the PRS which is what he plays.. the sparkly red on at 3:12 and 3:42 are her signature model PRS.. I'm going to try one out on monday...

  • @zdarelight1 No, it's her own like of PRS..

  • Santana + Avril Lavigne x Slash = Orianthi

  • Santana + Avril Lavigne . Slash = Orianthi

  • Sorry everyone, Clapton bores me to tears, this is the best cover of this song that I have ever heard and WHAT a guitarist!

She is from my home town, I have to love her!

  • Perfect !! nice groove

  • A Actually, and I say this with the sleeve of my Disraeli Gears copy in my hand, Clapton is also credited as a writer for sunshine.

    BTW: This girled butchered Sunshine.

  • i love her playing on this, but the vocal treatment reminds me too much of early '90's Debbie Gibson or that whole "poppy" thing. Sorry, I'm just used to the orginal version and the power behind the vocals.

  • jack bruce and peter brown actually wrote this classic. Cream offered it to hendrix, originally, for him to possibly record. he turned it down...only to realize the success that Cream had with it. he eventually recorded it live and as an instrumental which is CLASSIC.

  • Waaay to fast

  • CLAPTON IS GOD

  • Clapton came up with this song and yes santana has done a cover

  • @Epste1n5693 Bruce wrote this song, not Clapton

  • Im so used to the original version this one is too fast its like my brain trying to catch up with what shes playing. but its all good

  • why would u turn blues rock into pop?? sigh...

  • i prefere this version than eric clapston 's version

  • @92guitarrock you can't really "prefer" a cover over an original. The composition is what makes it genius. A cover can do nothing but just compliment the original version. btw the songs by cream not Clapton.

  • cool video,good job

  • she makes it sound so much more epic. Orianthi is fantastic!

  • and yes this is a cover of Eric Clapton's song for anyone who wants to know

  • @JBJonasLoveProtector You've got alot to learn if u just said this is Eric Clapton's song. I wouldn't mind so much if u said Its Jack Bruce's song. (Coming from a Eric's fan)

  • This is a cover yeh?

  • @SAMCTB yes it is if im right Eric Clapton and Santana have done this song : )

  • @JBJonasLoveProtector Actually its a cover of Cream,Eric Claptons band at the time, one the most covered guitar songs ever.Guys like Santana,Slash,Zakk Wylde and alot guitarists have covered it.Ori did a great job with this one!

  • @greekfreak1980 yep ori did a good job with this song

  • @greekfreak1980 Hendrix covered it too. The studio cover's on the 'new' album (basically whatever they could find that was still lying around the studio) Valleys of Neptune.

  • @Vanguard448 Exactly there's a video from an old tv-show here on YT with Jimi playing it but the sound is really bad.Speaking of Hendrix check out her ''Voodoo Chile'' cover is pretty good specially the version from the PRS experience show 2010.

  • @greekfreak1980 her version of that is pretty awesome

  • @greekfreak1980 even Jimi Hendrix covered it.

  • @JBJonasLoveProtector you need to find the epic Jimi Hendrix instrumental version. blows them all away

  • @SAMCTB

Yep - Cream did the original.
