@rcroks11 same idea, but they are NOT the same. smarties taste ridiculously better and were actually originally manufactured before M&Ms. smarties are more popular in the UK, canada, ireland, germany, etc. M&Ms seem to really only be "loved" in the states. we have them here in canada, but tend to prefer the peanut covered once since smarties don't make those.

I eat the red ones last. Unless I just dump them into my mouth, something I can hardly bring myself to do. I split them into colours, then rows most colours at the top. If two or more colours have the same amount of smarties in them I put them in alphabetical order. Then eat them but column.

I don't think they do actually! I could be wrong. I remember asking for a "SKOR" blizzard at a DQ in North Carolina and she had NO clue what a "SKOR" was...so yeah I think smarties was on that "not sold in USA" list ;)

actually there is a funny story behind "eat the red ones last" commercial. My professor is the one who created the campaign and he saw a little girl eating candy and keeping the red ones on the side. After she ate all other colors, she took red candy and put it on her lips as if she was applying a lipstick(imitating her mother, i guess). He was inspired by that and thats how the campaign was born.

The "Smarties" sold in the USA are a "pressed powder pill" roll candy, made by the CeDe Candy Company. Since "Smarties" already applied to these candies in Canada, the candies are called "Rockets" here. BTW, the Hershey "Take 5" bars are called "Max 5" in Canada, for a similar reason.
