If you like vai then that's fine. But I honestly can't get into him, trust me I've tried. Don't get me wrong, he has good songs, but when it comes to improvisation he just leaves me pretty cold. But if you like him, then that's all that matters. Everyone should respect every guitar player. I don't care if it's bob dylan or malmsteen, in the end it's all about making good music. Technical skill and what not is all aesthetics to me.
