  • what the fuck is the music for? CAN'T HEAR SHIT!!!!!

  • There is a much easier way and I will tell you in this post!

I got this today, and I clicked open and it got stuck so I closed it and tried again for a few times. After a little bit I opened it, still stuck but when I closed it I pushed on it a little and opened it, then it came loose and opened. Once opened I just pulled it to the right a little bit (or if its laying down pull it up a little bit with little force) and closed it and it has worked all day no trouble.

  • u kinda look like mac from its always sunny in philadelphia

  • used stickers and it works as well.. pretty hard to peel off too.

  • Yes, lets put loud music over a tutorial, good job

  • non eof these fucking things work!!!!!!!

  • Thank you! This one finally worked! Ive looked at like 20 other vids and none worked

  • LOOLOL DID HE QUACK?

  • Hey one main thing that we just found out after hours of trying to figure this out, always keep a disk in even if you have to put a crappy game in. ALWAYS*** keepa disk in and see if that works

  • AFRO HAIR SECTION! AHAHAHAHAHHA!

  • what is tht green thing u put on the drive?

  • whats the name of this song?

  • Comment removed

  • I couldn't hear a fucking word you said. Turn down your music and speak up!

  • every good tech knows u don't clean rubber with alcohol

  • Simple, Replace drive belt. thats the reason why it is sticking.

  • hey my drive locks up when i just put the top of the dvd drive on without any screws which means its catching so should i do the sticker? also i replaced the belt with another box and it still is locked up. it locks up as in i cant even pull the drive out. any suggestions?

  • what song is that?

  • my xbox 360 optical drive got jammed, i tried to unjam it, but it will not move forward nor backwards. It's the second time it's jammed on me, i was wondering if i could purchase a new optical drive then take my old Circuit Board place into my new optical drive?. This way i wont have to flash my new optical drive.

  • @fraction360 that'll work! :)

  • @GamerGuy51 Does it have to be the same firmware, my current one is ms25, the new is ms28. Does that matter?

  • how do you take off the thingy that the hand pointed to at 0:36?

  • @youngvisionaryJD if you want to...just push real hard on the white disc while holding the other end firmly....but first cut the label on the other side to make it easier. the top disc is just held by glue.

  • @GamerGuy51 ok well i already got a new xbox 360 anyways haha

  • i just used white out tape, and went around the top of the magnet several times, and it's working fine now =)

  • yayy lets go and void some warrantys!!!

  • i get 3 red rings when i press the eject button not 4, the xbox works great i can see videos etc, but then when i go open the disc tray it will open about a thrid of the way and in a split second i will get rrod anyone know the problem

  • This video doesn't actually show you how to do anything.....

  • i opened dvd drive and hit eject it still doesn't open, this case is different because i was trying to mod my dvd drive

  • Great idea. It really works. I took a tape (a thicker one than normal) and put it on there where you fit the green stuff. Works.

  • I HAVE MINE LIKE THIS..

  • What the hell are you saying.

  • i have a better way without dissambeling your 360 look at my videos

  • I have a Toshiba DVD Player hooked to a TV. My wife put a DVD on top of another. Can't eject them. Will this work for my problem?

    Thanks

  • Just fixed mine with 2 stickers cut into circles. Works like a champ. THANKS A BUNCH.

  • Thank you man for this video. I've fixed my xbox 360 drive with the electrical tape. I just cut tape into cicles and put 3 of them on top of the dvd drive

  • Lol i did this just then but used cardboard and it sounded like my xbox blew up :O i shit my pants.

  • Turn the damn music off or talk clearer. I can hardly make out what your saying.

  • @Frolitoman serious> cant hear shit

  • Sweet! Thanks man. Just did that. I used layered electrical tape over the top and then i trimmed it and it works perfectly.

  • look at my vid response my drive is just like urs and its acting up plz look

  • lol black ppl... cmon isnot racist...

  • my draw opens on its own will replacing the belt work

  • while you're playing?

  • mine does the same idk what to do

  • yes that may help my tray but what about my poor midnight club that the tray eat its scrached all over

  • its better to wet the band and dry it off than replace it

  • actually i couldn't find small black rubberbands anywhere....so i ordered some online at a beauty store...and on the bag it says "black magic" hair bands. what am i supposed to think they are for? people are too damn sensitive

  • Just because things say the word "black" in it doesn't mean African American all the time.

  • exactly, this guys a douche. Too sensitive? How about you being insensitive? You can find those little mofos at any arts and crafts store like Vason said. TOOL

  • i go 2 this guys stor all the time

  • that was kinda rascist black ppl hair part in walmart!

  • was that the actual problem? Because i just cleaned the belt and it worked fine afterwards..trick is ... to eject, use the button...to go back in, use your controller...for some reason it will slip a gear, but the technique of opening and closing this works PERFECTLY every time...my drive was doing the jam after i cleaned the belt, and by doing the technique i have managed to make it work normally...try it ! i dont think u needed to open the drive, just the front belt imo

  • LMFAO! black people hair rubber band. hahahahahahah

  • yeh i laughed my ass off at that part

  • dats how my is but dosent make any sound ? when you waiting it 2 open. i cant hear nuffin.

but it dose play da game inside dat i left in ?????

  • this is the best solution I've found so far but...isn't it a bit risky to put plastic bands in a place where the temperatures are a concern?..i have the same problem and my best solution is to keep always a dvd inside the xbox to prevent the magnet to "glue"...and it works...

  • yeah i agree...keep a disc in at all times and you'll avoid this situation...except when you forget to leave one in there...

  • Wait im confused... Why dosent the Rubberband for the White People work???

  • i think so....hmm

  • your a fuckin racist!

  • It was a joke twat pocket.

  • haha now that is one lean mean swear word thumbs up!

  • wow yeah I've been calling people chowder pouch but I think I just learned something better

  • aww come on that was fukin hilarious

  • ahhhhhhhhhh LMAO black people hair section fucking genius

  • LOL @ Where to find the Rubberbands at walmart, Dude i lmao!

  • good job but avoiding you warrenty also if u have

  • If its stuck without the ring of death, all you can do is press the eject button, take pryers and pull it out.

  • i agree its not the magnet that holds the spinning disc in place its the rubber band, ive had a few with the same problem, new rubber band or cleaning the old one will fix it.

  • All you really have to do is take out the rubber belt and let it soak in hot water for 5 minutes or so and clean it. I really think that that yellow thing over the magnet isn't doing much.

  • you should post a tutorial on this. what did you use? papper?

  • great job bro, but can you make the video again with more details on how to fix it since your are the only guy on youtube that has manage to fix it. Like show tools needed and such.

  • he shows you how to fix it right there. quite simple all you really need is something to lessen the magnet strength. Everything else you can find out how to do on youtube like taking everything apart.

  • i got the same problem as fixxxer2477

i had these two black springs fall out and i have no idea where they go???

  • ay man i got that shit too. if u find anything about those springs please msg me!

  • it goes in the thing that holds the outer screws of the disc drive's motor in

  • thanks alot

  • will gamestop fix my broken 360

and if so i wanna know how much it will cost.

  • I'll fix it for you.

  • i had 2 black springs fall out and i have no idea where they go anyone know?

  • ay man i got that shit too. if u find anything about those springs please msg me!

  • Wow, it seemed like microshaft planed it out to make that stick to it to hard.

  • FUCK, wen i removed the cd drive, the black cable or w.e plug in in the xbox broke, IM FUCKED.

  • the plug on the mobo? broke off? thats a first...i've seen pieces come off the power cable but not the sata cable. if its the cable you can buy a short one at your local pc shop, no prob. good luck

  • lol well umm u no the cable on the cd drive the white and black ? well the thing u put the black cable in side, it broke :/ so now my 360 cant read cd's Dx

  • hey man my 360 drive wont even load up when i turn my system on it tries to load then i get three red lights it doesnt even show anything on my dashboard i hope you can help thanks

  • what was the green thing u bought to put on the circle thing?

  • my 360 is soo fucked up. when i on it i HEAR ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, and 3 red rings show up. my disk tray doesnt open, madden is inside, and when i move the 360 around, i cant even hear madden getting scratched (as other games would when the 360 does work)

    ANY SUGGESTIONS?

  • yeah..u got ring of death...go call microsoft to get u a new 360. this happened to me.

  • Yeah.

    My problem seems quite unique.

    My disk drive is stuck.

But it's stuck OUT of the xbox.

The xbox turns on and everything, it's just the drive.

    Any tips/advice/ideas?

  • hey message me back asap please my xbox 360 drive is not working so i save the bord that inside of it if i buy a new hitachi drive and i change the bord well it work on my xbox 360 and well it play games help me

  • yeah it should work with a new drive but your old board...

  • But will it work if you swap a broken Hitachi drive for a working Samsung drive with the Hitachi logic board installed? I really hope so.

  • it wont.. samsung and hitachi has different controller board.. but in theory I guess its possible to make some kind of adapter, but not any easy DIY way.. Better to replace with same brand controllerboard

  • what disk drive is this for? samsung?

  • Its a Samsung

  • Mines has a stuck disc drive too and I just have to tap the 360 to get it open but whenver theres a game disc inside it opens just fine it only dosnt open when theres no disc inside hmm.

  • So what exactly is that yellow stuff you put on it, I'm currently trying to fix this exact problem. What can/should I use to cover that magnet?

  • NOOOOOOOOOOO

  • also can I put a Hitachi disc drive in my XBOX that has a Samsung?

  • You have to switch the mainboard with the old one you just had, otherwise you need to re-flash the DVD-drive(Dangerous).

  • If the system can read CDs and not games does that mean the laser is to weak and would i have to by a whole new disc drive

  • where exactly does the belt wrap around?

  • haha, i was actually looking at ur videos for the RROD and was checking out others and i see this one and i got this exact problem, and it is funny because i bang on the top to open it, i dunno how i figured it out, but as of now, i have no problem doing that, i dont really have to fix this do I?

  • if it doesnt bother you...don't fix it.

  • new problem it reads disks now but when i put a 360 disk in it it sounds like a jet taking off. But a dvd or cd are fine. WTF is going on.

  • it spins up as fast as possible so it can load the game faster...dvd's are loaded at one speed...its totally normal

  • the Games have to spin at full speed [12x] to stream the data off fast enough - if its slower, you will experience longer load times & texture pop-ins.

but the jet-engine sound will be fixed once the next Fall update arrives - you will be able to install/dump whole games onto the Hard Drive & the disc doesnt have to spin at-all :)

  • but wouldnt that take up a but-load of meomory?

  • Hey my xbox wont even read the disk. I put it in it says reading. Then it says open disk trey. Any ideas.

  • all you do is replace the drive belt thats all it is, Just look up PCX 2.6 thats the size of the belt. I fixed plenty of xbox's

  • i didn't know they could be purchased on their own...thats why i try to make it work without buying parts...

  • yah I didnt know either. But they are not "THAT" hard to find, But once you find a source You can get them for about 3 bucks and they last for years depends on if you move the console alot, My Personal system hade a stuck drive and with the replacement belt its been a year with no problems yet, The reason why its the belt is its the thing that spins the gears to make the drive come out, If the belt is lose the gears will not spin thus why the drive gets stuck Hope that helps. It helped me.

  • thanks mate - i'll try replacing the belt along with decreasing the magents force :)

  • you should post a tutorial on this.

  • can you give us a link too it?

  • thanks i needed this awesome

  • do u know how to fix open tray errors too?

  • open tray is usually the spindle getting stuck... thats my other vid. subscribe and see

  • NO PROB!

  • Thanks for this fix too! You have helped me with both red lights and now this. I used a sticky label here but had to cut a hold in the middle of it. Alos, don't tighten the DVD Drive screws hard. Just finger tight.

  • what do you have putt it one? whear kan you buy that shit?

    thnx!

  • office max or wal mart

  • nice and easy fix keep it up ;)

i will send you a kit if you want one i did message you ?

  • nice
