  • @CoonMike because he is f****** awesome and from mafia 1 video game

  • How do so many people know about this guy?

  • blows my mind how people can dislike this.....

  • What a Tank

  • Happy Birthday Django! Greatest Gypsy jazz (if not Jazz in general) player

  • Comment removed

  • having all fingers are to mainstream

  • joep417 :)

  • Stephan Grapelli on violin

  • @mozgren Thanks, I was wondering if that was Stephan Grapelli, but who else would it be? Amazing playing.

  • guitarists with all fingers are wet pussies

  • I'm really happy this has more than a million views

  • Fucking Hell I had to turn 87 pages to see what you wrote :D

  • Comment removed

  • I'd love to hunt down the 32 people who disliked this and slap their mothers.

  • DJANGO!

  • love it! all day long!!!

  • grappeli is the real virtuoso here

  • Здорово! )) Спасибо))

  • one more fez, one more! so good

  • cool.. <3

  • Emmet Ray is better.

  • DJANGO RIPS!

  • @671kmn @DoctorHadoken SHUT UP.

  • If I have to compare music to archeology then I'l have to compare Django to the T-Rex

  • Why am I only finding out about this guy now!!!?

  • @ferdinandsouz

Actually django is a belgian/french gipsy.

    Try Wikipedia if interested

  • unforgettable and that's sheer madness.

  • Fuck the game bio shock! Pick up an instrument instead of playing a fucking video games. No wonder these kids are failing in life.

  • @671kmn its turning kids on to good music, i dont see a problem with that

  • @671kmn pick up an instrument and when you're done for the day, THEN play a fucking video game. There is room for all under the sun.

  • @671kmn You're a real dick, you know that? All you achieve with comments like that is making people upset and making yourself come across as an uneducated asshole.

  • @671kmn If you're going to insult a video game, it should be anything but bioshock, it's a work of art as much as this man's music is

  • @671kmn Ha. Dumb uneducated dipshit.

Bioshock is unanimously considered the pinnacle of artistic achievement in video games from the past few years.

My friend and I are both pretty big fans of the game, and we couldn't live without our respective instruments.

  • @DoctorHadoken You and your friend can give bj to one another for all I give a damn.I,m also a musician and got a college degree. So, before you start trying to talk education.Try getting one first. Then come talk too me.Keep playing your video game.Son.

  • @671kmn Then people can think that the place where you studied sucks. Seriously man, there are many ways to have a discussion with people. Try, at least, to sound like a human beign.

  • @671kmn Surely someone as wonderfully educated as you are can conjure up a relatively sufficient argument in place of the bullshit you keep reiterating.

By making ridiculous assumptions based on peoples' personal interests and proceeding to insult an entire medium without any reason, you're making yourself look bad.

By the way, education isn't a one-way street, buddy. A degree isn't the end-all, be-all of knowledge. Having one doesn't give you any right to assume everyone else is less educated.

  • thanks bioshock, for bringing me here

  • @Tothedazz oh yeah this does sound like bioshock thats y it sounds so familiar...lol

  • @Tothedazz loool, when i heard this, i was like, where have i heard this before??? BIOSHOCK thank yooou tothedazz

  • Amazing..................

  • I'm sure this is the true America.

  • perfecto amigo <3

  • que yanki los comentarios puaj

  • This past summer, I read a biography of Django. Then, I was amazed to find a double CD set of his music -- The Ultimate Collection -- in a music store in the local mall. Just love the sound of it! When I mentioned it to my brother, he sent me the link to Django on You Tube. Django Reinhardt was truly gifted. Considering the injury to his hand that he suffered in a fire as a young man, it was a miracle that he could ever play the guitar again, let alone become the phenomenon that he was!

  • Haha everybody is talking about bioshock :p 5 years old but still such a great game!

  • BIOSHOCK NEEDS MORE DJANGO!!!!

  • reminds me of bioshock or toy story

  • @MrCherubhair ..cool...

  • this guy makes me happy inside :L

  • Willie Nelson's Grandson is named Django....

  • Comment removed

  • @MrCherubhair then why is your nickname MrCherubhair. It should be MrDjangoThaSecond.

  • Awesome.TY J for posting.

  • What's really amazing is that he played like this when, on his left hand, he could only really use tw oof his fingers.

  • amazing!

  • that sounds like a fiddle not a guitar

  • @thegrandwazoooo yea, they have a violin, bass and guitar...django is on guitar

  • @thegrandwazoooo The guy on the fiddle is Stephane Grapelli

  • @MrCherubhair

So your great great uncle is actually the guy without the mustache. Pierre "Baro" Ferret. Do you know anyone who has any footage of Django or your relatives?

  • @MrCherubhair

That's Joseph Reinhardt, Django's brother. The other rhythm guitarist is Baro Ferret, Stéphane Grappelli on Violin and Eugene D'Hellemes on Bass.

  • I just realized I heard this song on a bunch of movies, love it :D

  • This brings tears to my eyes !

During the 60s, I had the pleasure to play drums with two sisters , Minzi & Mena Morland who played in the same electric style as Django and Stephan. Visitors came year after year to spend their holiday in the wonderful atmosphere of the cocktail lounge of the Ritz Hotel, Whitley Bay, England.

Django, Stephan and my two lovely ladies are sadly no longer with us but their spirit will never die !

  • So easy on the ears!

  • @MrCherubhair

Who was your great great uncle?

  • globe trotters, yes? i dont pay attention to basketball lol. the song just caught my ear

  • I typed this comment with two fingers

  • @boastingkitty lol.lol boasting kitty.

  • c est bien entendu et grande merci

  • must be Stephane on fiddle,, joe venuti played this so deep she can't find the melody...these guys were so'ooooooooo good and major talent

  • @pcolaquitar

    7) only to discover there was nothing to discover ... the sound is the only "discovery" but this gets complicated...

  • leave it up to Django videos to create the best kind of dialouge on you tube!!

  • no me imagino a quien puede no gustarle

i can`t imagine who dislikes this.....

  • wow heard this for the first time and had to laugh so hard... this makes me happy!

  • 30 people out of almost 1.3 million views dislike this....now we know whats wrong with the world....its that nasty, evil 0.000003 percent of the population

  • @xis123 if yre lucky

  • Disable "dislike."

  • Love it!!!! The Moore Brothers - Jacob & Isaac

  • so goooood!!

  • Sounds like music from a Pixar movie. What a great artist to get their influence from!

  • Practice guitar with 2 fingers and a thumb. Left hand. It's a whole...different world.

  • Practice is spelled with a "c". I practise a lot, I want to play like Django.

  • Good thing Baloo the Bear never heard this.

  • I have a different version of the song but I like this one much better. What album is this from?

  • @rexonaforwomen That could be a tough one, I've only ever seen my dad's 78rpm albums of "The Quintet of the Hot Club of France" where Django and Stephane were the ringleaders.

  • aw yeah

  • Why do 28 people dislike this?

  • @Mousepie999 - Who knows? Knuckleheads, I guess.

  • @Mousepie999

Some people like to hear about problems in the bronx though, thats just the way it is:)

Other people like `music´ which makes them feel urged to go outside and kill everyone, sadly as it is! And the last group of people only like what they think they have to like...

  • Chuck norris of the guitar right here...

  • Django Rhinehardt was and still is in a league of his own...

  • Who cares if Django, and, Stephan were gay! It don't matter!

  • Chears from chile! Enjoy music and life! :D!!

  • I'm a rock guitarrist... and when I heard Django I just wanna be one of the best guitarrist in all te wold by learning to play like Django O_o... it sound crazy but... rock is GOOD music 2! <.<... and I love jazz music!!!

    Chears from Mexico :)

  • @RiccardoAlcaraz I found rock and metal first, and then jazz. Each style has an enjoyable sound!

  • i wonder if the globetrotters play this version at their games

  • I almost fainted like the guy in sweet and lowdown,,, thanks

  • @JazzKeyboardist1 oh yes, same here. great movie, great song <3

  • @davelister30 - conventional wisdom is that true mastery in any field requires more or less 10,000 hours of good practice. So that's 4 hours every day for about 7 years.

Sounds daunting but you've probably put in your fair share already, and that's for "mastery", not just excellence. You'll never be Django, nobody can be, but you can be the best "you" possible. Don't quit....

  • Now THAT'S music, and I don't care who you are.

  • Im a 16 yr old and i love Django Reinhardt:)

  • Darius Scheider Improvising on Favino guitar

  • woody allen sent me here

  • He as a true genius, thanks God for giving me the chance to listen to this. I wish to have at least 1% of the talent of this blessed guitar player

  • lol nice. reminds me of mafia 1

  • @MagicIsntReal its not mafia its maahfya

  • didnt Django only have 4 fingers on his fretting hand??

  • @chumanjames

He could use only 2 fingers due to an accident (fire), his other 2 fingers being practically paralysed.

  • @ChristianTourRo I myself found that out not long ago - absolutely incredible player, no question.

  • Awesome! TY Jacopoj for sharing.

  • Can someone please point me to other artist in same genre of music from the same era, I love Django and I would like to experience more from this type of music... Please mail me with name of artists or songs you think are great as this ones.. on daduka83@yahoo.com TNX TNX TNX

  • Stage 6...sell guitar again after thinking you "learned" to play jazz then listening to more Jango.

  • One of the best. Cannot be denied.

  • harlem globetrotters :D

  • @J040Z1NH0 how dare you!

  • If Django would died not too young! ...

  • "One more, Steph. One more."

  • @davelister30 I'm in stage 3 just not ready to sell my guitar :p

  • harlem globe trotters brought me here

  • Oops I missed the "Like" button...

    sorry

  • You can play like Django...the first 35 years of practice are the hard part

  • @davelister30 Ha, ha, how very true! In fact, Oscar Peterson said he almost gave up playing piano when he heard Art Tatum play... (glad he didn't!)

  • this sounds like Harlem Globetrotters music

  • @IamAsi94 Harlem Globetrotters used this as their music.

  • 23 people have turned off their speakers

  • manouuuuuuuuche

  • Es verdad lo de Grande. Maravilloso el maestro Django! No es sino hace como tres años que lo he ido escuchando. No sabia lo que me estaba perdiendo. Gracias por haber subido éste video!

  • I play better than Django

  • @snruB9959 ahahahahhahaha u make me laugh!

  • @snruB9959 Not possible, sorry. :)

  • @snruB9959 Ah, very humble.

  • Thumbs Up If Hding Tactics Brought You Here!

  • I had to stop by once again for a listen!!

  • @fngrpkn06 Me too.

Just can't get enough of Django's playing.

    AWESOME!!!

  • who cares about the new and the old, and just lay back and enjoy :)

  • Natural evolution of the guitarist...

    1) Listen to people who you think are guitar greats..

    2) Purchase a guitar, practice the riffs and think you're gonna be the next big thing....

    3) Come across Django Reinhardt on youtube

    4) Sell guitar

    I've just reached stage 4

  • @davelister30 that is priceless...it happened to me when i first heard Jaco...then I just practiced more and more...now Im told i do a pretty good impression though...Playing like him is one thing...it's writing the stuff thats amazing! Dont lose the faith....

  • @davelister30 No way dude.... It's called turn off the TV and practice.... That's what he did... Not saying i'm anywhere near Django, and I may be an optimist, but there are too many great guitarist that exist or have existed to believe that YOU can't play well... Practice, Practice, Practice!!! Too all you who don't know, check out ANDY MCKEE and DON ROSS. Candy Rat records, in fact, is a haven for great guitar talent....... Never Sell Your Guitar!!

  • @davelister30 5) get interested again, buy guitar; 6) listen to Django and realize you have far to go; 7) work at it 8) shake your head repeatedly; and 9) do the best you can and have a blast!

  • @davelister30 funny for a laugh but django would be dissapointed in u i bet...play on and make django proud.

  • @davelister30 haha :D ha ha ha ha ha...... :< :'( I've reached stage 4 also... and I played for about 8 years.

  • @davelister30 So funny and true. Well said.

  • @davelister30 what happens if django was one of the people I think of as a guitar great ?

  • @davelister30 stage 5 is.... realise you can't compete, repurchase guitar, do your own thing and enjoy... life's too short. There will only every be one Django.... and only one Dave Lister... (actually there are probably loads of Dave Listers but none of them look like you, think like you, laugh like you, get grumpy like you.... you get the point)

  • @ruthtruthinireland That's right... I sold my (bass) guitar when I heard guys like Wooten and Lesh play. That was the most silly thing to do... Two month's without my instrument, I feel so sick.

  • Comment removed

  • @davelister30 Eric Clapton, a handy guitarist is quoted as saying that it takes 1000 hours of practice to get to a professional level, so don`t sell that guitar just yet, and just keep practicing. Good Luck or do like I did and take up the Harmonica.

  • @roadappleband lol it takes far more than 1000 hours.

  • @roadappleband Learning to play the harmonica properly is no walk in the park either... :)

  • @davelister30 im in stage 4 too. i just sell my guitar haha

  • @davelister30 Can't is the cancer of Happen

  • @davelister30 sorry, but your fault. you just don't get the balls to enjoy the process of getting really good. and that takes years even for dajngo...

  • @davelister30 what about Tommy Emmanuel ? or Yurgi Loeffler, buy another good guitar and start playing again for your enjoyment. Listen to the greats, get inspiration. There are seeds , there are trees.does the seed give up after seeing some big trees?. The learning faculty in us is much more than the EGO, its divine.

Watch a toddler learning to walk, it falls again and again, but finally walks and then runs.

  • @davelister30

optional stage 5) learn to play jazz :P

  • @davelister30 That, is a recipe for failure.

Up and coming guitarists - Listen, learn and keep playing, these are the prerequisites for greatness.

  • @davelister30 and you have 10 working fingers

  • @davelister30 haha! m8! don't sell your guitar! even if you can't solo like Django there is nothing more fun the playing the chords he solo's oto!! the pace a rhythm in this music is alone enough to make you simply smile!

  • @davelister30 that's the evolution of a quitter, a guitarist is more like:

    3) come across Django.

    4) be awed, put the guitar aside for a bit

    5) realize Django will never express YOU as well as you will

    6) get back into the guitar with a vengeance

giving up on music after discovering a super great is nothing more than caving into your own laziness. It isn't a sign of respect for the artist. But Django is a monster. As Jeff Beck said "There really is only 1 guitarist, and his name is Django."

  • @davelister30

    1) Listen to people who KNOW they are great.

    2) Purchase your guitar, not hoping you’ll be a great, just that you can make a living through music.

    3) Come across a guitarist and realize that what he does is very simple

    4) Play more.

  • @davelister30

Funny, I never went through any of those steps. You should start playing mandolin and be in a band with me.

  • @davelister30 rly? I find it quite opposite, atfter listening to him, I want to play like him. all summoned up; my guitar will NEVER leave the house :)

  • @davelister30 .Have fun and play and don't worry about whether he is better than you or not because someone will always be (sigh!)....Guys like Django are one out of a billion.....There ya have it race fans!

  • @davelister30 Aww Dave....keep playing!!

  • @davelister30 Just practise! It should inspire, not put you off.
