2 is no doubt the quintesstial epic sequel that doesnt suck like Aliens but the first one is a lot better i more than agree it was the first of its idea and its 80s old school style is that much more appealing

Of course the first is the best. It's the original and a classic. This film is better than the second in a lot ways, including Arnold portraying the ultimate villain and the character of Kyle Reese. I do love the second film though. It stands as one of the best sequels in film, but any after 2...no. Cameron ended it perfectly with 2. And, I love the T-1000 as a villain too. That character showed that there's actually something scarier than Arnold. An enemy you REALLY can't see coming.

First movie is the best, sequels are worse, it's a rule that never fails in cinema, it is like an axiom. Still if you look in imdb ratings T2 is ranked higher. The genius in T2 is making Arnie the good guy and somewhat "humane" by including a special bond with the kid - appealed to the public and was a major hit. True fans of T however prefer T1 for its unique atmosphere, original screenplay and the sheer horror of being chased by a machine in human tissue.

i honestly liked terminator 1 more than terminator 2. it just had, idk, a feeling of helplessness, desperation, of never being capable of rest, that feeling of being chased by a killer machine with no regrets, and ur only defense against it was a soldier. a human one. idk i think that terminator 1 is waaay better than the second one

@anonimatox123 Usually a sequal is terrorable in comparison to its predecessor, but in the terminator's case the first film is a timeless classic that could never be replaced by any film, and the sequal is the perfect example of how a sequal should be. It trys its best to live up to the first, and though doing so in this case is impossible, it did so well that the two should be accepted as the best serise ever. Every T film that came after 2 is just shit.

@Virusoffline the single fact of having a "good" terminator ruins everything. the possibility of having a terminator as an ally (even if the enemy is stronger) ruins the whole concept. terminator is supossed to be man vs machine. if u add a machine to the good side, all the meaning of the movie is thrown away and its replaced by some michael bay bullshit.

I was 6 when the film came out so I grew up with the music and the start of the legacy with The Terminator. To me the real legacy started and ended with the 1984 release of which was a true 80's cinema gem. Originality at its finest when I saw the film for the first time in the mid-80's I was like WOW! Don't really see how the second installment is better than the first. Must be the younger crowd's opinion. The soundtrack and Main Theme of this film is eternally embedded in many!
