  • Nice one, looks similar to some of the terrain we ride here in Oz

  • ANYBODY HERE TALKING ABOUT USING THE POWERBAND OF A CR500 ON AN INCLINE IS A NEWB... MY ADVICE IS TO STOP TALKING BECAUSE ITS APPARENT THAT YOU HAVE NEVER ATTEMPTED TO "POWERBAND" UP A HILL WITH A 500... Because if you had you would learn how bad of an idea it was and how different the bike reacts when you have twice the power of any bike you have ever owned...get a 500 then start posting shit newbees

  • Dumb shits I have an rm 125 for yall that or sayin shit about him in low rpms well on a 2 stroke it's hard to get up hills like that if you don't know what the fuck your doing

  • i garuntee you that hill is alot steeper technical in person but theres always some idiot who can climb it on his 50cc pitbike better then the guy in the vid...thats when you can tell they never been on real ride real hill before because all enduro riders know hills look easy on vid but deadly in reality

  • That guy only needs an xr250 for how slow he rides..... you've got a 500 for fucks sake get the hammer down!

  • @DarryllK

I'd like to see you hammer it down. You'd be flat on your ass.

When you step on one of these big bore 2 strokes you lean to respect them very quickly.........

  • @matt420740 Unlike you and that guy in the video I can actually ride and from the moment that guy hopped over that little bump at the start I would've hit band and torn it all the way up that pissy hill.

  • @DarryllK

You don't ride at all. I can tell you've never set foot on a bike just by your moronic comments.........

  • @matt420740 I find your insipid comment humerous. I strongly suggest you go forth and penetrate your rectum with a foreign object. Good day to you sir!

  • @matt420740 Too true DarryIIK probably has an xr250

  • cr500, the only bike that can climb a hill at 1 rpm

  • 12 seconds, really?

  • shit i could do that at that low of rpm on my 125 :D

  • whats tractor mean?

  • we have a hill like that where I live. But surely not steep enough to make a cr 500 bog out

  • Some of the comments on here are missing the point I reckon. The beauty of this vid, and I've watched a heap of times, is the last few meters of the hill where the motor is almost siting on idle, and it just keeps going. A four banger isn't going to match that at idle. It's not always easy to grap the clutch, and you can get caught out and stall. Also the lower the revs the better traction you get, being able to take a bike down that low, will help you get up very slippery hills with ease.

  • it sounds so fucking AWESOME!!!!!

  • That being said I ride 450s, and Im faster because of it. But My bikes arent worth anything for re sale, I had to learn to completely rebuild my bike because the labor costs are nuts, and even 10% over dealer cost on parts its still expensive. I do miss the 125 sound tho. but Ive crashed less because of being on the smoother, 450.

  • they arent better than 450fs, for these reasons. harder to ride, dated chassis and suspension. Better than fourstrokes for these reasons, way cheaper, much higher horsepower per cc, anyone with six metric wrenches can do a top end on a 2 stroke, for well under 300 bucks. get as lippy as you want about how great 4 strokes are, blow one up and then talk. Plus two strokes especially 125s are just way more fun sounding, and the neighbors dont complain as much

  • @TheLoopy989 Agreed, you can still get a modern suspension set up for the older 2ts,but it costs,I love the ease of maintenance, and more power per cc.But than again,I grew up on CR,YZ and RM bikes.

  • wow why don't ya use the powerband ya scaree pusie bedwetter

  • DINGSDEAN 05 CR125 ...facebook "Michael Wood" look it up... and what are you riiding??

  • gear down retard!

  • @96mikewood the guy is enjoying his ride bet you havent even got a bike you fucking twat

  • U need a 4 stroke

  • is he blind

  • @riderKMC lol ''deep''? , deep is what 4 bangers make, the bike in this video sounds sounds deeper than it should cuz the guy riding it is in the wrong gear and dosent no how to ride a 2stroke properly

  • 2 stroke forever!!! I am 19 and i always had ride 2 strokes , 4 strokes is for old people xD Cr 500 is a monster!!

  • @FerreiraMLG a 450 4 stroke would make shit of a 500

  • @TeoZMuff313 Were you dropped on your head as a baby?

  • @f3ar3dlegend No idiot, its got more traction and is lighter, read Motocross Action Mag comparison asshole

  • @TeoZMuff313 u have obviously never heard of a cr500af

  • @SiMo666suzukiRider name a few reasons why its better than a 450f

  • @TeoZMuff313 its the same weight if not lighter with twice the balls, 450s are sick fun, but a cr500af is the fuckin shit w w w.911mx.c o m/Host/AF/ServiceHonda_CR500AF_2011_001.jpg

  • Respond to this video... well mabey not lighter but only a few kgs heavier but with so much extra torque its not like it matters

  • @TeoZMuff313 /watch?v=cC_8P_IBfZs

    watch and weep

  • @MaximusOglorios46 shit vid

  • Screw the EPA! 500 2's are the path to enlightenment, arm pump, and white knuckles.

  • @myldmnrd epa is just another way the government likes to give it to us in the ass. some things that actually ruin the enviornment i understand but big bore 2 strokes really are not an issue. just like diesel.

  • @myldmnrd i thought arm pump was bad on a 250r...ride a 500 and see how you feel the next day

  • My Husqvarna 430 is a fucking animal!! If you guys love the 500cr you gotta ride the Husky.

  • Two stroke bikes rule no matter how many cc they are

  • All of us 250 2 stroke guys feel like men on our bikes in comparison to 4 strokes, when in all truth guys who ride the 500, are the REAL men.

  • kx 500 are better !!

  • @willy1willy2 at shiting them selfs .in the bush we see 1 in 100 bikes are kawasaki they can't take it

  • @bluepig426 shut up!! do you have one ? no!, me yes and i try a honda 500 cr and me kx500 is way powerful and tuff fuck honda !

  • @willy1willy2 but my daddy can beat up your daddy!! grow up little man and stay off and monsters cause you seem a bit angry muffin and no i don't have a kx i got rid of the piece of shit spent more time fixing it than riding it but you have a nice day!!

  • my 04 kx500 does me just fine track, trailz, hillclimbs, sanddrags great all around bike im only 140pnds an i twist the throttle lol ;-) #500

  • shut up that a 500 2 stroke you cock

  • ummm a tractor is a 4 stroke

  • @BUKUINC a tractor is a diesel john deer

  • ehmm thats not a 500 thats a 125 or 250 cause its 2t

  • @SuccesHit cr500's are two strokes.

  • @SuccesHit

you can get 500cc 2t bikes ? cr500 .. your comment makes no sense

  • put a supercharger on it then id take it lol

  • Well, who the heck needs anything more than just-above-idle anyway?

  • @Kawasakiforlife7 LOL dude shut up ALL THE PRO RACERS are getting to four stroke cause they performe better in the race now...

  • @Nameless41000 no its bec not many 2t's are being made anymore and they are there to promote the newer bikes they race. Also if they had 250 2s on the tracks with the 450s you all know what would happen with a good rider...

  • i think this bike is only for road :D

  • @Huselja1 its a dirt bike dude..

  • @twistedkeys1 i know but its to powerfull for terain to ride that is my opinion sry for my english

  • @Huselja1 yeah thats why i have a cr250 xD its perfect :)

  • That this just does a high idle up that incline. I like it.

  • do you foul plugs doin that on this bike or are they pritty good on plugs?

  • i thought it was called tractor for his power

But in this video it's for his speed.

  • Just imagine what troubles a 4 stroke would have revving that low. wouldn't have any power to get any where up that hill.

  • @motabikeboy are u kidding me.. certain 4 strokes are better at tractoring up things then any 2 stroke

  • @450rable

From my point of view and from what i can see, you do NOT know much about 2 strokes to say that.

  • @motabikeboy your dumb for even commenting back with an invalid argument. ive owned and ridden many two strokes and the closest thing to my honda 450 are the 500's. the 250s love to spin there tires up hillclimbs and its nothing like the 4 strokes.

  • isnt the cr500 a two-stroke?

  • @wiithepeople2 im not going to make fun of you, yes it is

  • MY XR65OR IS BETTER FOR TRAILS, NICE BUMBLE BEE THOUGH...

  • @rideredification HAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHAHA!!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • my 89 500 was one of the best trail bikes ive ever ridden. i geared mine steep and put a torque pipe on it. it would push any bike in tight terrain. then as soon as it got straight all you had to do is sit down and twist.

  • This thing will probably plow to most terrain easily :P Love it

  • i didnt see the title and was like "Lay into it pussy" Then i read it was a CR500 and i was like "Dont break any ribs now" haha

  • My 250 2 stroke is a beast, i can only imagine a 500

  • Tillamook Or, some of the best trail riding anywhere!! Hill climbs, single track trails, rocks, mud, unreal stuff.

  • nice bike vid tooo short but love tht bike

  • nice quality video!

  • Ive been riding cr500's in Very tight woods for 10 years or so with 27 inch bars. I won't ride anything else. I weigh 245 so it was easy to make the cr500 my bitch. Fuck a valve train.

  • Ive been riding cr500's in Very tight woods for 10 years or so with 27 inch bars. I won't ride anything else. I weigh 245 so it was easy to make the cr500 my bitch.

  • CR 500s are scary motos. Im a 250 rider and had a go on my mates CR 500, never again lol. Nearly lost my life at least 5 times.

  • Aren't people on Cr 500 supposed to Rip?????!!!!!

  • @IginlaRox

It was his first go - read the description.

  • @abbas224 sorry

  • lovely great torque!

  • climbing the hill at 200 rpm lol

  • @sharpetta19 i miss that i had an big ol kawasaki. 2 stroke. used to call it the grasshopper

  • I've just finished rebuilding an old CR500 and took it on its first ride in to the hills and man... just point it at a hill - and its going up ! So much power down low. Was a real pleasure. Much more grin - factor than my 450 MX bike. :)

  • u cant ride

  • Braap!Braap!

    This bike's so brutal!:-)

  • lol anytime you see that tan dirt and green greenery in a youtube vid, you know its tillamook

  • oh ya good vid

  • i have buddys that do harder stuff every day on a kx 250 and a cr 125

  • @thehondah8ters who gives a shit hero

  • @thehondah8ters no fucking shit? thats like saying "my drz 125 and my dads xr 250 can make it up that hill in 1st gear!"

  • @thehondah8ters an I can do harder than that too... Read the description. FIRST RIDE ON CR500R in the woods.

  • Buy honda monkey 50cc, so you get that"power"

  • Nice riding style faggot...

  • @FordmanFender

Whatever, the dude handled the bike and made it up the hill carefully and sucessfully.

People like you are dumb bitches for going around spouting off on peoples vidoes.

Even if you are a troll or aren't one, either way, in real life you are dumb fuck.

  • @2bornot2b1984 Its called havin a go,not riding like a pussy, obviosly u have the same riding style aswell?

  • wHERE iS tHAT

  • cute toy, but if this turn off on bad place u'll get also bad until to turn it on. I mean realy bad place, where the kick starter can not make the whole travel or u can not touch the ground by the left side ;)

  • Bro, i want one.

  • haha it must suck to go from a 500 to a 250 four stroke

  • what you just rode up isnt even hard, i do way worse on a 125 and im 15

  • @MrKick14 want a cookie dude

  • @MrKick14 I would run over you and your 125 on my 426 idiot, while on the back wheel...

  • @MrKick14, me too, is not about the bike is about the rider, I can do it with 50cc ugly cub!

  • @MrKick14 id like to see you ride a CR500.. or not, we dont need anymore deaths :P

  • gotta love that low RPM 2 stroke power !!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Tubbed69 useless for slow trails or snow-ice trails!

  • snap snap snap snap snap snap let off, snap repeat as many doses as neccesary

  • so when the power band hits, are you doing a wheelie no matter what, or are you only doing a wheelie if you hit the power band at half throttle or more?

  • With a CR500 there is enough power to do a wheelie in pretty much any gear at any speed. You might call it a wheelie machine...

  • @SpeedDemon073 i meant like do you have to be on the throttle half way or more to do a wheelie when the power band hits. my 250 2 stroke doesnt do a wheelie when the powerband hits unless it is half throttle (or more)

  • @SpeedDemon073

I bought a '96 CR250 that was used for ice racing, also a wheelie machine.

I mean, you could be going down hill, 4th gear, all your weight over the bars, burp the throttle, and still wheelie it.

Throttle had two settings, putt-putt-putt, and full-on tearing ass down the trail leaving a 6" deep trench in your wake. No in-between.

I can't imagine what a well tuned 500 would be like.

  • @TSpost62 :D i have a kx250 worn ring & same story, a 500 is what i want but I can only imagine how tired you would be from trying to hold on it under WOT!

  • @SpeedDemon073 or a WMD

  • @SpeedDemon073 same as my yz450

  • @SpeedDemon073 My mate would like to try and get one of these engines and fit it in a trx quad or sumthing, I imagine itd be mental, also he said his mate has one and itll pull away in like any gear without boggin down at all apparently theyre such nice bikes!

  • @SpeedDemon073 i can do that on a 80cc too though...its all about the suspention and the sprockets

  • @SpeedDemon073 is that good or bad, lol Ive been riding a long time, and my 250' with some mods is a handfull. I cant magine double!

This is what jessus would ride.

  • @110marmon you dont do a wheely, that beast does a wheely when it wants to woot woot

  • mine is like wheelie at half throttle for first couple gears and 3/4 just spins and full pretty much does a burnout and wheelie... The guy before me modded it though.

  • Mine is like wheelie at half throttle first couple o gears, 3/4 throttle is like a burnout can't grip, and full throttle pretty much digs a trench while doing a wheelie. The guy i bought it from modded the engine and put a high performance pipe on it.

  • loved my CR500

  • Hey speed demon073

Ive seen this hill on another video looks like an awesum place to ride where is it ?

Great comment about the power band and horsepower of this beast I'm the proud owner of an 87 CR 5 and I love Flying it

  • I'm not manly enough to take the 500 on the track. I'll stick to the CRF250 for that.

  • @SpeedDemon073 so you only ike riding 125's? thats all a 250f is... four strokes garbage... ride a real bike, Im dyin to ride a 500 my 2str 250 is getting old

  • @SpeedDemon073 eww CRF? four stroke? get a real bike, get a racers bike, get a 2 stroke

  • @SpeedDemon073 you can hit the track on the 5 i bet you weigh more than i do im only 140 an i holem!lol

  • Pretty much! It's a bike that really just wants to go fast. On the straight aways it's awesome. In the trees, not so much...

  • guys i ve rode fro a long time but i dont know a thnig bout my bike my dad and bro usually repair it

    what is a powerband?

  • The RPM range in which the engine is most efficient.

In a 2 stroke there is a very noticable point at which the engine feels like it really takes off. This has to do with the shape and length of the expansion chamber, and the bigger the CC's the less sever the "hit" is. On a 125 it's a night an day difference. On a 500 it's there, but not as noticable due to the fact it makes so much power down low already.

  • basicly there is a too high and too low for the most eficient rpm's and if it too high wont go as fast???

  • You have to remember that an engine does not have a continous horsepower output. It makes varying amounts of HP throughout it's operable RPM range. Once you reach very high RPM's you actually start dropping off in HP (due to the fact that at high RPM's there's not enough time to get enough fuel in the cylinder). At this drop off point you can continue to accelerate until you reach maximum RPM (redline) but your acceleeration rate will decrease.

  • A CR500 in stock form makes about 58 HP at 6000 RPM. Powerband starts at about 3500 rpm (25 HP) and pulls HARD until about 6700 rpm (58 HP) and starts dropping HP off fast after that.

  • @SpeedDemon073 someone had commented on another video saying that CR500's dont have powerband....i take it thats not true then? or is it simply not as aggressive as say a 250 since the engine is making so much power even out of powerband? i would love to have a ride on one some day....a little hard to come by now though in AUS.

  • @SpeedDemon073 What about a KX 500?

  • @MirracoBLACKpearl1 all 500 2 strokes is same hahahha the color change!

  • @SpeedDemon073 thay have more hp then that.and 500 dont have powerbans like 250's and 125's.500 doesnt have a high rev eather

  • @zachd6969 go look at the specs for a stock CR500R beforeyou tell me I'm wrong. You can find the toque/power curve online.

  • I'v ride a Yamaha YZf250 (4 stroke)and at same day, i'v ride a Crf250 (4stroke)... this bikes is so different then I'm used to ride, 'cuz I ride my DT180 on the trail all the time, and I'm afraid of broken parts;

  • reminds me of st joes, i use to fly up those hills on mine, ppl call mine the tracktor as well, there awesome bottom end grunt

they can hear me coming by the sound baaaaup baaauup hehehehe

  • I have a 91 and a 00. These are great bikes. They have tremendous torque. Looks like a fun ride.

  • For real!

  • yes I'm sure your so good that you actually ride a unicycle with a 600 cc engine. no need for a front tire because your just that awesome....

Get a clue dude and read the caption. First trail ride on a 500cc 2-stroke... enough said.

  • you sound like a 14 year old smack talking poser, but who really cares.

I don't see you having any vids posted to prove your superhuman offroad abilities so until you've got something to show, ZIP IT and keep dreamin about how cool you think you are.

  • hey, I know this trail, and if that is your first time on a 500cc 2 stroke coming of a 4 poke that pretty good.

  • you sound like a tool. go sit on daddys bike and pretend kid.

  • TOY

  • Some one told me that cr500's dont have power bands because they have so much power is this true?

  • Well the 500 does have more power all over, so the powerband is not as dramatic as it is on smaller bikes, but any 2 stroke has a powerband.

  • every motor has a power band

  • Any gas motor has a powerband I'm sure electric motors have powerbands also.

    Keep'ner civil

  • Every bike every made weather its 2 or 4 stroke has a power band but its a dramatic jump in 2 strokes where 4 strokes u can feel as much of a jump in power and a cr125 powerband compared to a cr500 the 125 jumps alot more where th 500 kinda eases into it trust me i no i have both a kx125 and cr500

  • @RockMan5431 A powerband is not a part like most kids seem to think. All engines have a powerband. All "the powerband" is, is the RPM range at which the engine is making its most power. Cr500s have mostly low end power where as 125's have top end so when you get on a 125 you will notice the power come on more than a cr500. Cr500s jsut pull like hell all the time if you get on the throttle.

  • Thanks I thought they should but My dad and his friend were both convinced it didnt have one, Probobly because there both to scared to give it some power, btw i have a rm 125 so i know what there like ^^

  • @RockMan5431 No problem dude...Just be sure to tell your dad and his friend that they need to learn what a powerband is before they make a statement like that. I cant count how many people i have met that actually think the powerband is some magical part in the engine. As i stated though it is just the RPM range that an engine makes its max power.

  • Dont worry ill make it loud and clear ^^

  • they are right and wrong. a 500 power band wont hit very hard because the motor can create so much vacuum at a low rpm the power band rolls on very early so its not as noticable, where as smaller 2 stokes, especially 60s and 80s, will hit so hard once they hit that vacuum level at a high rpm theyl wheelie themselves

  • my xr250 would hav made it up tht hill np aswell, nice vid tho

  • i really want to see one of these in real life. but im guessing they dont do that well in tight woods like MI. but it really depends on the rider

  • they make excellent bikes for tight woods actually, I got some vids of me riding mine in some tight stuff.

sure a CR500 has too much power, but it also got massive bottom end that will pull tall gears with ease, it will lug through any terrain at near idle speed and still rip your arms of on the straights!!
