Oh yeah and I also want to point out my experience at westwood/meridell totally turned me off to psychiatry, psychology, counseling, therapy and group therapy and I learned first hand that confrontational therapy doesn't work. Think i'm harsh well until you've experienced it you have no right to judge.
I was a boy there a few years ago and never once felt abused not even remotely. I never would have graduated high school with out the Ranch. The videos the academy put up are right on!
This is Todd Searle. I was there in the early 90's. I know everything about the abuse and the beatings. You guys are not liers and I know the truth. The parents may not believe you, but you all know what happened there.
I did everything I possably could to get out of there. And 5 years later it took me getting arrested to finally put that place behind me.
mr stevens my parents denied the abuse for years and years i got out in 03 . I now have a wife and 2 kids and i still would tell my parents about what happend there and they would not believe up until the point that all of the other boys began to come forward on the web. finally my parents have realised what took place and tho they are guilty and will never admit it i know they are sorry
I can answer that. My boyfriends parents are oblivious to the abuse. When he told his parents, 1 they didn't believe him, 2 when they questioned it he was just beaten harder. His parents finally realized it once but have since forgot about it. Too painfull. How many boys do you need to finally believe it. He continually is reliving this trauma. I work in treatment. Everyone can't be lying about this abuse.
I met the staff you mention today on a campus tour today Wendy. I have to say her expereince with her our son was much like the situation I'm in now with mine. I guess her experience as a Mother is not valid but yours as a student is?? Where are the videos of the parents complaining about your treatment???
Anothing thing I want to hear the testamonies of former inmates of these residential treatment gulags. Write me at johnyzero_2000@yahoo.com.

I was in one of those gulags in 1986-87 at westwood/meridell in Liberty Hill, TX and I came out with more issues than I did going in. Long story.

I've got two brothers that went to UBR in the late 90's and they are grateful for it. One has a PhD the other is working on his masters.
UBR/WRA isn't disneyland, its hard, and it works. For me I have worked as a home staff for almost 5 years and now my wife and I are homeparents.
You criticize for WRA posting the parent video. There is no problem with posting their stories vs your stories.
