This is awesome, one of my favourite Lennon/Fan/Whatever songs. Not sure why it hasnt been finished officially as this just shows what a great job can be done with the demo, not that its needed with this little gem going around.
It would have been nice that he recorded this in the studio together with real love and grow old with me. Three fantastic Ballads. But he wanted to have an album with yoko. It would have been a great album solo, they should have made a double Album. But it's like this now.
I've been toying with the idea of re-uploading this in higher quality. The audio on this clip is not a good representation of the full-resolution file. It's really much better sounding than this.
of all the lennon home demos, this version ranks up there with the reprocessed "now and then" (also available in youtube) as the best available "repackaging" of john's demo songs. this song is my personal favorite though! i wish i can have a copy of this on mp3!
What a gift. There's not a better demo finish out there. Before you know who makes you take it down & disappear, I wish you'd round back to the verse "They say the..." and finish out with chorus, then repeat chorus. Instinct is amazing. The saxes are inspired, the harmonies are dead accurate, and is there a hint of mellotron (maybe in my head). Critiquing drums would be quibble. Anyway, it's inspired & a great comfort at this late date. A complete MP3 - obviously there's a lot of us. Thank you!
Gosh looking at this video..made me feel so sick inside..........hes gone.....John Lennon......i can't begin to tell people how much..i love him...and he is my hero.....I LOVE YOU JOHN!
Definetly the best version of the 3 on youtube. You really should send this to paul or yoko and hopefully get it realeased because its such a fantastic song and the overdubs really make it.
I am very impressed, "you are a genius" nice job embellishing the song. I would have never guessed it would be a 70's song, sounds very up to date. I am glad i ran into this song by accident, keep up the good work.
This is a John Lennon demo recorded, I guess, during the late 70s. It's just a cassette of Lennon and a piano and embellished with overdubs by yours truly.
Oh man, heard this again since several months, ...... your version is very great! Thank you very much for your really great job!!!!

Very professional job on the video, and the demo sounds great. Sounds like George's "jangly" guitar on Imagine.

Great stuff langerlomysterioso! Check out the rare and unreleased George Harrison song "Window Window" with my new studio backing on youtube.
walrusz 3 years ago
My man... that is a TASTY arrangement on "Window Window." I especially like the backing vocals -- a real mid-80s Jeff Lynne/GH vibe on that.
Might be fun to take a crack at that one and go all Phil Spector on it! You know, way too much reverb and too many overdubs ;)
