@sheilamichael Tip: Instead of double-clicking the select file, try right clicking it, and go to Open With.... Right there, it should extend to the right or left. Select "Notepad." It will open the file. Hope this helped! ^^

downloading characters is hard

Let me tell you how to do it. First of all go to mugencharacters.ucoz.com and download the character. Then copy the char to the "chars" folder! Then in the "data" folder open the "select.txt" and write the char folder name and a stage?

For example: "Naruto, stages/NinjaAcademy.def, order = 1" <-- Like that!

And BAM!! You have your new char... it stands where you write it. THUMBS UP so that everyone can see this!

I added 1 character successfully but when I added another 1 & ran Mugen it showed all 3 characters but when I tried to pick 1 nothing happend. I added a 4th character & than ran Mugen & it didn't even show that character. Is it only limited to 3 @ a time? What gives?

Let me tell you  :-

1. First download character and put it in chars folder

2. Open data folder then there will be select notepad open it

3. scroll down and then you will see 'list your characters below then write the EXACT name of the folder in chars

The link shown in the video just gives me a 404 not found error. Plus, I'm having the usual problem that most people have some characters simply don't appear. I think it goes deeper than just typing the character name in the 'def' file. I think some characters won't work if they

re made differently and you need to do something extra.

Try Mugen Fighters Guild for more help. Also, everything for Mugen is supposed to be free. If someone is asking for payment for anything in Mugen, don't do it. BTW, that site I mentioned also has characters, screenpacks, stages, etc.... Google Reuben Kee. On his site, go to M.U.G.E.N. Institute. Download the three characters. They are most excellent.

mugen-infantry is a good mugen site for almost all mugen needs. thats where i got most my stuff.

sometimes the characters you want arent hosted on the website, you just click the url they posted, and find ur way to the other websites downloads, anything but english can be hard to figure out. Pictures help you sometimes.
