  • Great horns and vocals by Mr. Lamm!!

  • Heaven must have one hell of a band!!

  • I was so sad when Terry died. He was a huge influence on my playing and still is to this day.

  • yes - final tour!

  • Awesome song thanks for posting it

  • There will never be a better band.

  • A Danny Seraphine's and Wolinski's composition. Very good. Notice Robert in a great night with three or four keyboards (which he doesn't use nowadays) and Terry doing those "take me back" at the end. Lee and Laudir and Walt and James very good at the improvisation bridge. Simply awesome. Thanks again!

  • I love the album verison with Chaka Khan but this smokes too :-)

  • Haunting song. RIP TK

  • The last show Terry Kath performed in was at the Oakland Coliseum in Oct. '77. I was there!! He was one of the true guitar legends. The band has never been the same since he passed away.

  • @rickfarmiloe .... Dec 1, 1977

  • Terry wasn't the only one 'SMOKING' here!!!! They were all so hot, it's amazing they didn't spontaneously combust!!! Terry, Bobby AND Peter on vocals, what a delight! The horns were on fire! Danny and Laudir banging away..pure heaven. Thanks Juan for posting another piece from the treasure known as CHICAGO!

  • I guess you was there in that concert my love...

    oh where i was? mg

  • crAZY of love about this song...

    =)

  • Chicago was still a good band up until Terry's death. But they became more a schmaltz band, far from the golden years of '69-71.

  • If there's a rock and roll heaven, T Kath will surely be in the band.

  • The horns are primo in this.

  • Ok I gotta know how the heck Terry could play so well with that cigarette sticking outta his mouth? LOL And where did it go halfway tru the song? I just gotta know. RIP Sweet Terry

  • Well...there are two things that most likely happened with Terry's cigarette. He either swallowed it, or he spit it out onto the floor.

  • guta

  • I think even though Chicago lost Terry Kath in 1978, Hot Streets had some awesome songs on it !! It was awesome to see they could move on after Terry Kath's death.

  • That was awesome! They really nailed it. I so miss Terry Kath. What an amazing talent.

  • Came across this video from you and I must say, I think this is the clip that was played at the '77 People's Choice Awards! A bunch of us watched the TV show as Chicago was scheduled; Jackie Gleason introduced the clip as his favorite band. We saw them one year exactly before this and saw Kath in the clip. We all wondered what the heck happened to him, appearnce wise. Anyway, I think 3-4 members received the award from Gleason after the clip.

  • Always wondered why this song wasn't a bigger hit. One of my favorites. Lamm sings it great.

  • Just WOW...

  • What a beautiful song. And what a bittersweet video of my boys. Terry K. had only a few short weeks to live. 30 years ago....

  • Yeah, Pankfan, I was at this specific performance, so it's REALLY bittersweet for me...they were certainly hitting on all cylinders that night...a shame that Terry's weeks were numbered beyond this show.

  • Oh, the last days of the most incredible band ever. Kath was so cool, even had a cigarette hanging out of his mouth as he jammed in the middle of the song. These guys so dominated the music scene, it makes me sick how they kept getting ignored, even when their albums were at the top of the charts, how pukeful! Anyway, thanks so much for the great video!

  • Is this concert the final one with Terry Kath in the line-up??

  • This was his final tour, not his final performance. Thanks for posting!!

  • Was this the clip that was played before Chicago received the People's Choice Award in '77...Jackie Gleason introduced the clip.

I believe 4 members were on stage to receive the award after the clip.

  • This is exactly why I love Chicago. I love it.

  • ...listen to Terry´s rythem guitar, incredibble !!!

    He was the man!!!

  • Chicago in this video looks very confident and relaxed. Great musicianship by all members. I enjoyed Lamm's singing, Kath's rhythm guitar stylings, and of course the horn section.

  • Thanks for this. What a great preach segment at the end. Peter preaching, Terry wailing...Pankow gets some great 'bone in too. Wow - great stuff.
