hey , what did you do/buy to make it so fast from new . i saw your old vid of this R.C and it was no where near as fast as it is now . little help to get mine as fast ? :)
@jparks4081 hi, I was wondering if you have had any problems with the belt? By that I mean have any of them striped using that much power? thanks for the response
@ilanstylz It's kinda hard to explain a pic of it would say it better than I can. But you may not have to on the newer kits that came out lately. I've heard they don't have the "tight belt" problem. It's a shame the first ones had this problem though-you'd think they'd test them at the factory before throwing them at the public to purchase.
Is that the Mamba max 8000kv set? i have that and a 3s lippo in the older version of the 18b and it hits around 60-70 and sometimes it goes so fast that the air goes under it enough to randomlly send it 15 feet in the air, ITS CRAZY
@beastxmoder I did have "tight" belt conditions at first but after offsetting the motor on the motor mount like I said in the video, it totally took care of that problem-for me that is. I know some people have done this and still had trouble. I recommend this kit cause it works for me but the decision is up to you. If you already have the first RC18T, I'd just keep that and invest hop ups for it since it's just as good as the second version. It's up to you man.
@cesar11duran I just bunched the wire around the receiver at the time of the video to kinda test out the range which wasn't too bad but decided to put it back up the original antenna that came with it and the range is much better-nevers goes out of range. The antenna tube I was using in the vid was an old one just trimmed down. By the way, don't cut the receiver antenna wire, it'll ruin it
Thanks about the pics of the motor & pinion mounting in AE Forum. ^_^
It's ok to avoid rubbing between pinion and belt.
I don't know if i've mounted something wrong, because my motor (eZrun 7800kv) BURNS after a few seconds rolling. I know belts have to loosen, but there's too hot.
i bought a ESC that is a EZRUN-25A-L Brushless ESC with a EZRun 18T/SL-2030 Brushless Motor w/ 5200KV and lipo 2 cell 20c 7.4v 1500 mAh is that good to run it?
@rc18driver13 Well, they mainly make a huge difference when you switch over to a brushless system-that's where you'll see the biggest difference. If you follow the general guidlines of handling lipo batteries you'll be OK.
ahh okay safee i am converting my motor to a brushless, got a reedy mini max atm and i am worried about using lipos someones car caught fire down my club and i dont want to spen like £165 ($275) on an orien motor so i am kinda worried would you recomend them ?? :)
@rc18driver13 It's alright if you don't want to use lipos, you can use nimh batteries with a brushless system and you'll still have a lot of fun-you just won't get the high voltage and amps that a lipo can give but it'll still be faster than brushed motor on nimh batteries.
did you ever have a striped spear gear yet,? i played with my settings so much that my spur gear is a little striped. mine makes like a little clicking sound i think because the teeth are a little striped do you have a idea where the clicking noise is coming from???
You mean the very first time I ran it ? That would be a no-it didn't roll that far. After I done the "offset motor mod" it rolls almost as good as the old rc18t.
Nice, is that stock gearing? How are the temps and what are the dimensions of your motor? I had been running an eZRun 7800Kv motor (20mm x 30mm) in mine before I got the one in my vid, but it ran too hot to be worth it so I switched over to the 4120Kv with a longer can (40mm long) and upped the pinion 2 teeth which works great. I think i may be able to go another tooth or so up on the pinion to get the temps just right... Enjoy your car, these things are great fun once you cool them down!
@RadioactiveLegos Temps are much better after the motor offsetting was done. I'm not sure what the dims are on the motor but it's a Dynamite C4 8000kv. Yes it is stock gearing (12T) and might go up soon to sqeeze out a few more mph but for now I'm pretty happy with 40 mph, that's pretty fast for a mini. I 've gotten my old RC18T up to 60 mph and it's just crazy fast.
Does It Come With A Controller?

@stevieERRY I added a brushless system and 2s lipo setup. Most everyone is going brushless and lipo these days-it's a killer combination.
