Just in case you didn't know, you can wet down the vinyl and it won't sound as scratchy and poppy. When recording that technique is called a "Wet Recording".
The water cannot be straight water but 1 part isopropyl alcohol to 5 parts distilled water. Applied with a medium stiff white horse-hair brush. It really works wonders.
lovely record i think the singer is eve beck and the record was made in 1933 what fantastic record i love it thank you for sharing it.

It's the talk of the town, vocal by Phillis Robbins, note the perfect diction, from a record about 76 years old, brilliant, one of Henry's best !.

its surprising i have one similar to this and it has a richer sound like yours. compared to the one i have with the large external horn.
its like there is some hint of bass. where the large horn one is louder by far but more tinny.
nice song by the way.

A cracker! Fantastic sound. You can imagine it drifting out of living room windows on a warm summer night.

The sound, I think, comes from a horn inside the case attached to the arm...but what i dont know is does it come from the bottom or a side...?

AH, The wonderful Henry Hall. This always reminds me of Eastbourne Bandstand as This would have been played on the afternoon concerts.
