When I watched this video some years ago I couldn't understand it so well as now do.... "world on yr fingertips"..yes..it's right what is going on nowadays: Libya ...Syria ...Egypt...Yemen... It is so good that Her Majesty brings so much kindness with her videos attempting to make clear most misconceptions concerning Middle East and the whole world in general. I wish more and more people watch her channel.
You came here to speak to the West. The Middle East is plagued with violence because the people have a vision for a new future, but the governments are responding with violence.
Please change the world. The king and you should show that you have a vision for drastic reform that extends far beyond anything even the protesters have imagined.
Free elections. Free speech. Free press. A new constitution based completely on liberal, democratic values.
An active press with high journalistic standards. An artistic, cultural, intellectual revolution based on an open dialogue with the world.
Major anti-corruption efforts led by civilian oversight of institutions. Widespead public participation in NGO programs that aid poor, rural populations.
@ 15:15 "from virtual activism to real action" I agree with everything Queen Rania have pointed out in her speech - just take a look at what is happening in Libya right now, it all started in Facebook and since then it has turned into one of the most brutal revolutionary war of our century.
Thanks Queen Rania, you have been an inspiration to me.
Education for all is really what can change and open minds about what is happening, that is the mass media manipulation. However I disagree the way they lend to reach that goal. Thinking educate the "poors" of is an aid is wrong and unfair. It is a help to be fair with those have been spoiled by criminal capitalism...no it's just justice to give them back their human dignity.
She does so much and yet this islamist pigs hate her, and dig to find something to criticize her. Why? because she doesn't wear a hijab, because women are meant to cover their faces, their beauty and run under the shade to prevent men from raping.
The Jordanians are so gifted with so many intelligent, inspiring leaders!
King Hussein,Queen Noor and Alia just as Rania and Princess Haya are doing so much good work!I hope Princess Haya gets more support in her work to help Haiti!
Too bad the green color "revolution" in Iran was really a western backed coup attempt that ultimately failed. Don't get me wrong, I don't like theocracies, but I knew from the get-go it would backfire on you. And it did. Maybe the people at the top of the "pyramid" so to speak that have gone through the motions of superficial "success" had better start to realize that they are not the ones with the answers anymore.
Eh, I wouldn't say 'digital Darwin'. If you dig into it, it really doesn't compare to his name. One name I would prefer if you choose to use one would be Leonardo da Vinci. If used in the sentence, I think it will apply much more. Let me know ;)
She is the one of the best women in the world, she is the model of the arab muslim women who tries to build the bridges with westner ideologies...She must get the nobel prize not Obama!!
I just like this quote and it embodies my earlier comment...."We're very good at finding reasons for what we do, but not very good at doing what we find reasons for."
PS Can we generate more discussion than talking about QR's hair?
Queen Rania,Wow what a speach!IHope all this ideals you repesent will turn in to reality!I listend to many speaches of yours and have one questain,May I?
I stand by my tweet. It's so much easier to sign a petition and make a video online, but how many people go out and rally and volunteer as a result? i do believe virtual activism is effective but i don't know how many people transfer that into their every day lives. if they do, they were probably actual activists to some degree to begin with. The internet can facilitate & organize action, but I don't believe, for most people, that it will foster action. People are lazy.
i am absolutely shocked at how skinny she is....and actually a lil worried too. i really hope she's not anorexic, but that remark about eating chocolate totally made me lol =p
The same appiles to you... we don't trust you to honor your word or actions, you just want it your way in this world and that won't happen... so wake up and smell the coffee....
Queen Rania is more than an amazing woman - she's an amazing person. She is so well-spoken and intelligent! It's wonderful that there is such a great role model out there for the world.
QUEEN rania...what do u think about whats happening on the yemeni saudi border....are u ok with the slaying of hundreds of innocent civilians who are related to prophet mohammed by blood? arent u a hashimi? is it fortune and fame that made u all not care about whats happening to these innocent ppl...why dosent ur husband do or say somthing to save these ppl who are related to him by blood >>>>?? i know ur a great woman...so i hope u will try to help in anyway possible...peace
Queen Rania, As an American citizen I am so happy to see how you work for the good of all people on this beautiful planet! I know that you will continually work to bring harmony to people wherever to choose to travel. My deep gratitude and heartfelt thanks go out to you!
That's like screaming "Bambi is a PETA terrorist!", and then running out of the room...please explain your comment. It seems kinda outta left field to me.
I do not see a monarch I see a well spoken woman ...a little bit too skinny... A monarch is just a title that unlike a PHD is not earned thru education but inherited or aquired by marriage.
It's like saying Princess Diana was unproductive;she too inherited her title through marriage, but instead of sitting around all day playing with jewels on her crown, she tried to make a difference. Hence the reason millions of people shed tears the day Diana died. Queen Rania, just like Diana, is trying to make a difference.Instead of being deemining of her royal status, honour it. For unlike other powers who have used their powers for destruction, this Queen is using it to change the world
The online world makes it easy to do this. Do not simply click, or tweet, you must also educate yourself to what the issues are and how they impact all our lives. We can make a difference. We have already begun to do so. Ty Queen Rania for being a voice.
The Queen is correct. It all starts with a small group of people realizing there is a problem. These people then work ( via the web and elsewhere) to get everybody else to see the problem, admit it's a problem, and then agree to fix it. Once it is understood what is at stake, then change will come, and it will be understood how necessary this transformation will be, and there will be a push for change that moves us forward.
Queen Rania, is it true that women's rights are not well-protected in Jordan. Here are some stats:

Queen Rania, is it true that women's rights are not well-protected in Jordan. Here are some stats:
Jordanian women are at a distinct legal disadvantage. Marital rape is legal, wife-beating is rampant, and often allowed by law, and honor crimes crimes (domestic violence against women for "immoral behavior") receive minimal sentences.
Social security, inheritance, divorce and testimony laws all favor men. Women earn less than men for equal work,
grenadianmed 2 years ago
I am a woman from Jordan, allow me to answer you, no we are not at a disadvantage, men almost are bcoz we are given more chances than they are, socity recognizes that we woman are smarter and better workers in certain feilds.
haninabualrub 2 years ago 2
Wife beating it a human action not accepted by the socity and we Have programs to defend women in these cases.
Marital rape is not a comon problem, and if it occures its not accepted.
haninabualrub 2 years ago
Honor crimes is our true problem and we in this country are trying our best to end it.
Our Laws doesnt favor men, it gives each their rights.
And in the whole world women get paid less than men for equal work. Ask Oprah about that.
