Very nice playing. I am very surprised at some of the negative responses. If it were perfect you would have been on tour. This piece was played exceptionally well for the level of the performer. I hope you have continued your playing, as you have real talent.
Dude, good job. A little bit different arrangment than I do, but I think I like this one better. Pay no mind to the haters, because if you check their stuff you'll see why they don't have reason to be positive.
Hello...you are what I am supposed to be.....good job.....I play some beginner bach...come by and tell me what you think..it would mean alot....Travis
Right? Bach isn't easy to play, even his easier pieces. Those of you who are chucking everything this cat is doing need a dose of modesty, na? Or maybe you're saying you got it through osmosis?
marvl, again you're precisely right. This performance is dreadful on virtually every level. Cochsie again manages to fool non-players or crappy players though, so I guess that's all he cares about.
It's kind of funny how people hide behind the internet to try and belittle others. I've been playing for about 6 and a half years, without about 2 in classical guitar, and there is nothing wrong with the performance at all. The only thing i would recommend is slowing it down a tad, and let the notes ring more. Other than that, I thought it was great.
How about the constant slips and treating quick ornaments as regular notes? Have you ever heard this piece played well? If you did, you'd know that it sounds nothing like this.
Apparently, playing for 6 years hasn't given you the experience to know that...
You don't know what you're talking about. Have you heard John Williams' (probably the most reputable source on this) recording of the 1st Cello Suite. Cochsie has done a good rendition if you make that the standard. The ornaments don't have to be elaborate to make the piece well played.
I agree with you too. It's not perfect but I didn't post it here with the expectation that it would be perfect. The focus should be on musicality and technique. Perfection comes with time.
hahahaha, go back to looking at your videos of teen models you clown! This guy doesn't need your shit. his tone is fine, his interpretation is, as others have written, sensitive, and his changes in tone color are very tasteful.
I was beginning to think that I was one of the only ones on here with any musical standards. I'm tired of the mediocrity that the world just settles for. This is especially true in music and the guitar world. So many people don't understand the distinction between stumbling through the notes, and actually performing music.
I would like to make it clear I am not bashing Cochsie for not being able to play this perfectly. I understand it is challenging. My comments are directed at those who continue to put mediocrity on a pedestal.
I felt like this piece was a little sloppy and really mechanical. It really lacked musicality and phrasing of the melody. The only attempt at musicality was the pontecello and I didn't really like the tone produced. I didn't feel like it fit the music.

Pretty good, though Bach wrote these Suites to not need any accompaniment. I think adding harmonies makes it sound a bit weird

He has a good phrasing, it hads his touch of interpretation and he is true to the compositor's work ...
It might not be as good as your perfomances MARVL but it is certainly not a pretty bad perfomance..

I am a real fan of Bach and you handle the difficulties of playing Bach on the guitar very well!
Very nice smooth postion switches

You realize the performance is pretty bad? Doesn't anyone on this site have any training? Sheesh.

Yes, but there are numerous slips and errors. Seriously, youtube is communist-the general population is stupid, so no one notices the errors.
