But this isn't the full story. I have been reading and the Fuel Shut-off on an SD40-2 like Crazy Eights has to be held down for a few seconds to even begin working. And what about Q63615? They completely left it out, even though that is what truely slowed Crazy Eights.
Too bad the TV show that did that bit was about as dumb as a box of rocks.The got ABSOLUTLY NOTHING correct except the state it happened in.Moron media!
@IMRROcom ok.It was an engineer that made a mistake.He got off his loco to throw a switch that was lined wrong and didn't have time to stop before derailing.He accidentally put the unit in Run 8 and set the loco brakes thinking he put it in Dynamic 8 and loco brakes.The brakes nullified the deadman switch and there was no air on the cars since he was doing a switching move.Also the engineer didn't lose his job like these morons said he did.
@IMRROcom Also it said several cars full of Extremely flammable liquid.It had 2 cars of Phenol which is a 2 on flammability.THere are more flammable substances under your sink.
The gun blast totally knocked his damn hat off lol

@SPUPRR
I think it was more about the fueling being toxic more than it being flammable.

@SPUPRR I agree it's the best coverage of the incident. But hey, it's what I found that I could put up regarding the matter.
I just like seeing "crazy 8's" in action.

@CimarronWestfolk I meant.......it's NOT the best coverage
