So basically OWS is calling out for the change Obama promised here but did not deliver...and many of them want him back in the White House for another term.
hey sen. obama why didn't you vote for "s.190" in 2005 to reform fannie and freddie, and why have you taken more than $120,000 from these companies. and why are two ex-ceo's from these companies working for you now
"I want someone who knows MORE THAN I DO about these subjects, not someone who is just like me."
This is exactly the kind of disturbing irresponsibility that has led us into our current state of affairs. Voting for a great speaker doesn't absolve you of responsibility for understanding the issues and casting a true vote of conscience, just as filling out a 1040 form every year doesn't fulfill your moral obligations to your fellow man. You Obamans are going to be disappointed, mark my words.
And what America has now is better? McCain will parrot everything Bush believes in and is doing right now. That won't help America. Financially, I'd trust a Clinton over a Bush and an Obama over a McCain. Bush has done nothing over the past several years, but bring down the economy with a costly war.
You're getting the context of this message wrong, or you're probably refusing to see it properly. Ignorance and Over-confidence are factors that lead to the downfall of leaders. He's saying that he's willing to listen to the opinions of others, that he doesn't know everything and will listen to the advice of those with more experience and make his own conclusions regarding whatever it is they're discussing.
I'm not getting the context of the message wrong. There is no context of any substance. And yes, the Neo-Con economic philosophy is overtly immoral and destructive, and we need to chase those crooks out of office with all the political force we - as a citizenry - have. What DOES NOT necessarily follow is that the "alternative" - the Neo-Liberal economic agenda - is ANY better. It is every bit as horrible, but far more artful and covert in its criminal activity.
If he wanted to look to experts doing true independent, non-partisan research, then he should study ECONOMISTS to inform his views and votes on economic policy - NOT Corporate-puppet politicians like Obama. Ludwig Von Mises, Henry Hazlitt, F.A. Hayek, Rothbard, Milton Friedman, Stiglitz, etc. How ANYONE can trust EITHER of these parties with financial matters is completely beyond me.
The simplest way I can break this down, and then I'll shut up and get out of the way: Obama works for the same Military-Industrial Complex that McCain, Bush, and Clinton do. This ultimately amounts to hundreds of billions (probably even more) of our tax dollars (not to mention American and foreign lives) being spent every year to maintain Imperialist presence in roughly 180 countries around the globe. There is absolutely nothing remotely resembling responsible financial philosophy in that.
This is the kind of president I want - I want a president who is informed, articulate, thoughtful, and SMART!! I want someone who knows MORE THAN I DO about these subjects, not someone who is just like me. I want someone who does not parrot back talking points, but who UNDERSTANDS these complex issues. I want OBAMA/BIDEN in '08!

Obama is the same. People should have looked at his wheeling dealing voting record in Illinois. What a shame so many people were duped in November.

Never mind Sarah Palin. Let's see John McCain go into that level of policy detail.
You won't, because he's campaigning on image, not substance.
