  • Wow really? I am a harley mechanic at a local indy shop and this bike was the first harley I ever owned and wanted to set it up to be a cool beat around town hot rodded bike...Did it ever occur to you that maybe I owned more than one bike? and if you saw my roadstar you would see that it is set up for touring and I ride that bike probably as much if not more than you do. I ride with tons of people with different types of bikes and dont judge any of them for what makes me happy... thank you vet!

  • @silvasilv well i stand corrected then. and youre right i dont ride your bike as much as you do but you dont know that you ride or have ever ridden as much or as long as me. especially if you live somewhere that theres a lot of snow and ice. although i dont get to ride those times ive been on military duty for various reasons or the times ive been on tours of duty in the middle east, otherwise i ride year round. so be safe and enjoy yadda yadda.......

  • now theres a bike you wont see taking a serious bike trip and being ridden by a serious rider.

  • @vetryder riding is a brotherhood and anyone that would make such a dumb ass comment is not welcome!

  • @smoken642008 its not dumb its correct. anytime ive been on a bike trip and seen bikes set up like that and riders wearing tank tops, pretend novelty helmets and other foolishness, they were either close to home or the bike got there on a trailer. dont try to tell me about riding sonny, i was riding when you were in diapers on a tricycle.

  • @vetryder you ever think that there maybe a helmet law in his state and he chose a novelty helmet to just try and get by? and when you say "close to home" i think that is pretty obvious seeing this is being taped at the end of his driveway. i'm getting really sick of old fuckers that think they know everything cuz they've been around the block. if he's happy with what he has what the fuck do you care!

  • @smoken642008 that would be even more dumb, "just to get by" lol. so yeah enjoy, whatever. just keep in mind the only people fooled are the ones that dont know any better. so put your big girl panties on and deal with it. dont hate on more serious riders that recognize and comment about this type of fraudulence. were not the ones that posted the video.

  • @vetryder lol "serious riders"...what an ass. your way is obviously the right way and going through life with that attitude must be just wonderful for you and everyone around you! happy trails dick!

  • @smoken642008 still working the hinges on your meat socket and hating huh?whatever. youre still selling but i aint buying dude. i dont buy b.s. my beliefs come from training, skills and experience. lets just agree to disagree. so how bout you chill and have a tall cold glass of shut the hell up.

  • 5 foot 5

  • hey man great looking bike! how tall are you? you look good on that bike. I am thinking of a sporty and want to set it up with the apes and forward controls but its hard to find one to test ride that is already set up. any way about how tall are you b/c you look good on it.

  • well, ive been going back and forth back and forth on what to do to my sportster, and this video keeps coming up, and its the only bike that i just go "god damn thats a hot bike", so, im doing my bike like yours haha.

  • thanks man i get compliments on the bike a lot, people dont notice it is a sportster at first...the tank was on the bike already which was a big part of why i bought this one...you can get them at most bike parts sites, gotta get the tank sealed and painted can get a little pricey...also the wiring for the dummy lights, the guy b4 me did a terrible job on them, so take your time and use different color wires, mine are all black thanks to that guy!

  • where did u get ur gas tank man? how much?

  • thanks alot for posting this, i have an 02 sportster similar set up, ive been debating what to do with it cause i just got it and it isn't quite there, im gonna get the fat bob style tank like you did, paint it and the fenders bright red sparkle, put some bigger apes on it, move the lights back from the license plate and take off the crash bars, so pretty much make it like yours haha though he chromed the oil pan too...

  • its a sweet bike, def needs a top end again i think the guy before me didnt do such a hot job when he rebuilt it...frame mount so it vibrates a ton and i ride a lepera bare bones so you feel every shake it gives...love the chain drive even though its more work, only real complaint is the 4speed, but from what i understand 5 speed doesnt change the top gear anyway, so honestly id say go get yourself an 89 and take care of it and ride the hell out of it, shoot me any questions you have

  • well SWEET bike!! I might be getting an 89' and doing that simalar thing to it. How do you like it, hows the ride for the year and the style?

  • top end was rebuilt 10 over before i got it but thats not gonna do much, its mostly stock , even air box is stock for now

  • Did you do anything to the motor? like a big bore kit?
