Who the hell would design an engine for a performance vehicle of any caliber with such weak specs? It just doesn't make any sense. Clearly, they decided to stick their new engine, designed for their smaller cars and trucks, into the NA-market S13.

Whether or not it was technically the first released with the engine is irrelevant: it's clearly not the vehicle it was originally designed for.

The point is, everything is relative, so it was luxury relative to other cars in it's price range at that time. That was mid 90s, so look back and see what was made back then, it was comfy and had plenty of options for the time. I had the 1995 SE and it had keyless, with alloy rims, cd player, abs all wheels, dual airbags and was quite the ride for the price and time.

The 2 door version filled the void of the 240 SX yes, BUT its not enough,Nissan needs to make an A-spec/j spec Silvia S16 or 250 SX Spec-V. they have concepts that have the lines of the S`chassy but they have to bring that car back and leave the 2 door altima in the past, agree or not....everyone wants to see the Silvia returned. whats with all these people arguing SR vs KA? more power, more torque, more displacement, etc who gives a shite? sr20 is a great engine, great things have been done with it in real racing (wrc, gt300, btcc etc) and the same can be said for the ka in SCCA/IMSA racing stateside. debating over which of these engines is better to modify or swap into your street car is stupid. lets run them N/A next to an F20C? or run them F/I next to a BMW GTP engine (which did 700hp endurance racing in 85)

The SR and KA are both great at daily driving, and with work, can both be formidable power plants. Power ultimately comes down to personal preference and budget.

Great commercial... for the SR20DET Silvia version. Based on what the images and narrator are telling me to be interested in, the turbo version is what they are advertising. I remember going into my local dealer in 1998 and sitting in a new '98 automatic in their showroom. They wanted $28k for good looks, great handling, correct drive layout but no power, but what did I know about swaps at that time.
