  • chem dry is crap hot water extraction is the best ,let me prove it to all of you go to shaw.com or mohawk.com these are major manufactures of carpet click on warranty or care guide it states that you must have it cleaned using hot water extraction/steam cleaning by a iicrc certified tech or warranty will be void.i don't know about you but i think the people that make carpet know best.So let me tell all you chem dry guys you can do it right and dry there called studabaker fans buy three per van.

  • @imfullybooked O brother, Do you know who started and owns the iicrc? Shaw you idiot who do you think is going to say that. By the way they all have a chem Dry franchise that cleanse in there own factory floors when carpet needs manufactured touch ups. And Chem Dry's Hot carbonated extraction is used by them officially along side others to handle warranty repair. We do it. Chem Dry's don't need iicrc certifications because Chem dry franchises are trained in house better then crc

  • @vintageyellow71 lets get to the bottom of this who's best us/hot water extraction or chem gimmick lets get the manufactures involved the real deal no ullsit understand chemy and soon you wont be working for home depot but wall mart.

  • I call it stroking the shit

  • @maninpc - sorry, but that was obviously some sort of sarcasm. Or you're nuts

  • Giving a home owner advice on cleaning their own area rugs in the driveway is not appropriate professional advice. Any Master Rug Cleaner would never advice a customer on how to potentially ruin their oriental area rugs and they will most definitely ruin them unless testing to determine the safest cleaning procedures, dye stability, yarn construction, region it was made, what's in the foundation of the rug.

  • I heard you say that your method does not use as much water as steam cleaning? You moron, your need to give the rug a bath in WATER!!!!!!!! Chem Dry is a joke and ripping off people !! Go to an IICRC class and learn how to do this right!!

  • Wow, the biggest carpet cleaning system in the world and the largest franchise cleaning system now owned by Home depot and you say it's inferior to your little sucking machine!! You're funny. Thanks for the humor.

  • Chem-dry rocks no doubt

  • Kudos to you again vintage. Keep up the good work.

  • Hay thanks tirkxty, I try. I'm always goofing around with something

  • What is a good DIY method for removing dog urine from an area rug?

  • That's a good question. Most of the time your going find that you can take your area rug out in the driveway and give it a good rinsing to filter out the urine then using something to extract out the extra water, and let dry. I don't know what type of rug it is or fiber type so it's hard to be accurate with you. Generally you can hose it off. If you get one of those wet/dry shop vacuums you can saturate that one area and suck the water out if you didn't want to do the whole thing.

  • Thanks very much for the tips!

  • No prob. There is no real perfect way but a good rinse on the driveway works well. That's if you don't have a devise like ours. Don't forget to get something that can suck out extra water. I didn't mention this but depending on size if you have a way to hang lay your area rug over something that will speed dry times. Good luck. The smell of urine is really hard to get out so you could get Chem-Dry's pet urine removal solution at Home Depot. If needed, give it a shot.

  • Hi. What colour is the rug? And, is it made with natural or synthetic dyes?

  • i hope you used OMS back to front on that rug.

hey ive got wool 80/20 carpets and ive used vanish on a red wine spill and i think ive locked the stain in!

ho would u recommend i get it out then ?

  • are you a franchise or a service technician?

  • tech!

  • I was just giving you a hard time I've veen involved with chem-dry here in Oklahoma for about 15 years. I like the pad and buff system but we use the PB for about half also. Have you solved the handle sliding problem with the power head buffer?

  • Still using a velda?

  • never used it for carpet. We never liked it for that so we never used it. We Pad and buffed until we purchased the 450 but we still PB over half our business. We still have happiest customers from the Pad and Buff system.

  • LOL, that's cool. I remember your call to my father a couple of months ago. I hope he got back to you. Maybe it was someone else, I don't know. Yes, we did figure it out and got some new pieces that are more robust and sturdy. I don't mind the 450 most of the time but the PB is where the satisfaction is for most people. There is something soothing about the sound (quiet) and a soft pad that makes people feel good. Like they just got something different. It's just the way it is.
