  • Remember flounder fans, this was PRE mls. We didnt just decided to show up when there were tv cameras were around ; )

  • @skateeathockeysoccer dude are you being serious el savadorians haha dude, you are a true retard firms like this started in argentina and there called barras bravas and hooligans are from england dc haha what a joke wanna see real firms keep watching these portland army videos or look up La Doce or Los Borrachos Del Tablon or ICF dc haha biggest joke I heard in 2011 l

  • You guys all know dc united started with this fanatic like fans, they took it from the el slavadorian roots and built that up, you know when you watch your club at home and there is travelling fans? that because of dc

  • your the reason for the mls new found popularity, portland timbers are by far the best fans in north america! from a Hereford United fan in England!

  • It's importent to know that this was back when they were in the SECOND DIVISION! Soccer is growing in the USA!

  • you know how little it hurts to be called dumb by a Sounders fan?

  • you might want to look around your own stadium, because this is not true. They are also under the over hangs of the seating tiers

  • @JennCrabtree your dumb because the NFL also tested this when these rumors came out, and when they were there monitoring the sound boards they also measured the noise frequency and it was the normal noise frequency as before

  • Great job to the Timbers. From Southern California. Damn I hate Seattle and their fake "Crowd chants" through the PA System.

You can still the space needle up your asss......

  • @Rao665 that doesnt happen...that was people like the timbers who say that because they are mad that it is actually that load

  • @mailkandellis I've been to matches at Qwest and it is in fact true. I heard it with my own ears. Crowds cheering and clapping were played over the speakers

  • @JennCrabtree no its not. you see (and i dont know if you understand this), when you have 36,000 people screaming, its going to be louder then 22,000 people screaming.....does that make sense to you???

  • @mailkandellis I am telling the truth, I have no need in my life to come online and make up lies. I'm not even talking shit! I'm just saying what I heard with my own ears, and it was piped in crowd sounds

  • @JennCrabtree how the hell could you tell if it was piped in our not in the first place

  • @mailkandellis because I was sitting right in front of a speaker and the sounds were going on before the match even started

  • @JennCrabtree well the speakers are on the roof, so....unless you were sitting on the roof....

  • @mailkandellis Depends, remember quality not quantity big boy

  • ttp://deadspin.com/5806938/portland-fans-are-too-hung-over-to-cheer-properly ...I like how all the "timbers fans" here are praising themselves on being loyal die-hards when they can't even get a uniformed chant together. Their own teams website is calling them out. Thats gotta say something....

  • Make sure your extra prepared now come July 11. No drinking allowed. Hahahahaha. Serious pussy $hit! You ladies think about switching endeavors?... Say maybe to softball, volleyball perhaps...

  • good to see americans embracing the true king of sports.

  • This is great for US Soccer. It seems like the expansion teams really now how to do it big.

  • best consistan atmosphere the mls has scene, but the best atmosphere for a mls team was real salt lake vs monterry. sucks that they lost

  • well done guys, Respect from ATL GA :)

  • Respect from Peñarol, Uruguay .. BARRA AMSTERDAM 1960

  • The first game at PGE was amazing!

  • I am watching Portland Timbers - FC Dallas as we speak from my computer in Sweden (2-0 at the moment) and i am very thrilled with your fans. Are they even comparable with the rest of the MLS teams? I havent seen an MLS game with such great fans, not even close. You guys rock. Plus, your green and white just like my favourite team in Sweden, Hammarby. You should search them out on YouTube!

Have a great one brothers... I hope you'll smack the sh*t out of Dallas..

    /Swedish Hammarby fan

  • @horizon123 Hammarby? Sweet. Heja på Bajen boys! Timbers fan here who lived in Sweden for a few years, picked up Hammarby as my club because of the similar colors to the Timbers.

The Timbers are the upper crust if not the best of organized fans in MLS. Look to Toronto, DC United, and Seattle to have similarly organized groups. But all MLS groups are a mix of Latin American and European influences, each with a little bit of flavor.

  • lets goo rapids

  • So, do people still hold their hands over their heart for the National Anthem or do they just do stupid crap?

  • @frizbaloid hand over ur heart is over rated. the world needs a new thing.....like waving scarves in the air

  • The sounders were in the NASL a year before the Timbers, and being from Seattle I recognize both cities are crazy about soccer. There should honestly be no debate about this at all. Both teams have a long ongoing history in the region, Seattle was lucky to join MLS before Portland, could have gone either way. But for both fan bases not to recognize that each team has an insane and raucous fan base is absurd. Wake up people!

Cant wait to play portland and good luck this season timbers!

  • If you guys try to let football culture grow in America you might live to see atmosphere like this: watch?v=vQ3Za3IQBnM Things like this can certainly help to let football become more popular in America since it's more than just a sport. It's a lifestyle for us in Europe.

  • Pretty nice tifosi. I didn't really expect this from American fans. It's nothing compared to most European ultras of course but it's a step in the right direction. I hope the football culture will grow in America. I was curious to see some of the Timbers atmosphere since AFC Ajax announced we will play you this summer. It's going to be a nice match. Too bad we probably won't have too many fans around in the Portland because of the traveling costs and traveling time.

  • TIMBER ARMY IS SHIT !

WAR SOUNDERS GONNA BE SOME HEARTBREAKING YEARS AHEAD FOR THE TIMBERS !

  • /watch?v=SZAV2bo5DA4

  • american football shut the fuck off!!

    soccer fans has more atmosphere!

  • wait a minute, did she say "for the land of the brie?"

  • i was here it was 3 days after my birthday

  • Good fans moronic ownership. Came down to watch my Sounders knock you out of the Open cup last year. Loved the atmosphere at both ends but the crap music blaring over the sound system was trying to kill it. I swear your FO has no clue.

Hopefully ours gets their heads out of their backsides and creates a visitor's section for the derby's next year.

  • it sucks that every single one of our videos this year is ruined by that shit muse song.

  • I'm an NYRB fan, and i am always impressed with timbers army... and it really pisses me off when i see Seattle fans claiming origniality or superiority cause we all know when Portland fans were doing this years ago, seattle was averaging 1 thousand a game at most

  • @GSScasual keep your lies to yourself. Portland did not average more than a couple thousand until recently. Just like Seattle. You need to stop listening to revisionist history spouted by newbie TA members who don't know anything prior to 2007. Stop being such a sheep.

  • @GSScasual completely agree. Been a Galaxy fan since the league's inception in 1996. been following the USL for several years and it is true. The Sounders did not have this rabid following before moving up and people jumped on the bandwagon. Where the hell were those fan back then?

  • @sjdrifter72 before moving up they wtf do you expect ! the were in 2nd tier football ! not alot of people even knew about htem and in the 90's not alot of americans gave 2 fucks about soccer so that being said

    HATERS GONNA HATE

seattle has the best fans in all MLS regardless of time invlved with the sport

and if they werent fans why would they come every game ?

    hmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • @GSScasual that doesnt matter when seattle is putting 35,000 in hte seats on the regular !

  • @chunkdizzle420 with 1/35 of that actually knowing what is actually going on in the sport... Seattle got a team through money, portland got a team because their fandom was well known... Seattle averaged only 3k before 2009....

  • @GSScasual seattle got a team because of money ?

thats funny ! i guess the 35,000 were paid to attend ?

dont be dumb bro even casual fans are still fans regardless of knowledge of the sport

quit being a hater and 3k before 09 and 35,000 after 09 is more than shivering timbers will ever achieve

you guys are gonna have a bad rivals were gonna beat you down every single year til your

if you cared for the sport u would accept new fans into it and not talk shit but instead help build the sport fag

  • @chunkdizzle420 talking shit? isnt that what you are doing? and no, when "fans" claim to be original with chants, and claim to be die hards when evidence shows everything... Seattle fans have YEARS to go to show that they are real fans... you have been around 2 years. and yes, seattle was awarded the team after the fee, and before cities were clamoring to join.Portland was awarded a team because their fans were consistant and a viral video sensation. dont be mad because seattle has no history.

  • @GSScasual 1st off 3k fans before 09 is amazing considering hte max capacity was 4,500 for the previous stadium and history !?!?!? ahahahaha bro weve been a team since 1974 you moron we have years to go before were REAL fans ? ahahaha that comment is coming from a REAL MORON

timbers were 75-82 sounders 74-83 in the initial first run of the teams how weve been around more than 2 years dumbass weve been around a year longer than you d oyour research before looking like a casual timbers fan ahahaa

  • @GSScasual your talking about fucking chants and you guys steal the theme song from tetris for a chant.....................................wow

  • @GSScasual no kidding!!! ALWAYS been this way, winning or losing!! SOCCER CITY USA!!

  • @GSScasual Point taken. I'm from Seattle and attended a USL Timbers game in 2007...the fans were quality. However, the whole "soccer city USA" thing annoys me to no end. Its arrogant. Also it should be noted that the numbers of fans at PGE in 2007 was small. So in all actuality Portland has about as many people who've jumped on the bandwagon as Seattle.

  • @colinmadams This is not completely unture. But that's just going to happen when you enter a better league such as MLS and you are able to create a bigger fan base. But PGE helped to add more seating for the transition to MLS. So although we weren't selling out before our fan base was still quality, especially for a smaller american city.

  • Awesome job Timbers Army! Great support and awesome fans!!

  • @alpenglowRG11 They did a display using the Chinook Jargon language?

  • @donaldoproductions haha no, just the style of the larger part of the display. We had it on either side of a full section banner. not sure which one i liked more, but i was very impressed by this one. And maybe you don't know this, but why would they use chinook jargon language when clearly most seattlites have no idea what it means? i know it prob has to do with "roots" or something. just curious.

  • @alpenglowRG11

The ECS invented card displays? Please son. And your display was about 1/4 of this. Learn the game and then come back and post.

  • @alpenglowRG11 That is a patently false statement and is typical of the revisionist sense of history displayed by the typical Sounders fan. RCTID!!!

  • Niiice. Might wanna get someone in media relations to not have music blaring around the stadium after the anthem and before kickoff.

  • BEAUTIFUL! Greatest match i've ever attended.. (Even though we lost..)
