Being a first generation baby boomer, I got stuck between the do whops, and the Beatles, etc. THEN, the drug culture music got big, and if you didn't do drugs that music was a waste of time. As many did back then, in the early seventies I tuned to country music as an alternative, and missed Abba altogether! I didn't know who they were until the movie Muriel's Wedding came out, and what I might have missed! I came to praise Ceasar, not to bury him.
Agnetha not versatile? I disagree & I do know about singing/vocal performance. I studied it for several years. It's a matter of opinion which voice you like better but I will state that Agnetha's solos are a lot harder to sing for the female singers since they sit much higher on the voice & only good belters can pull those songs off successfully. Again, no need for the hating. It's a matter of personal taste.
{Part 2] Unfortunately, some of Frida's post-ABBA recordings are still out there and they are largely a mistake due to poor song selection that emphasized all the wrong approaches. This may be due to arrogance on her part or a misreading of her once celebratory musical connection.
i finally came to realize the hatred that some people feel for the exquisite and beautiful FRID, it is HER origin, some sweddish morons do not consider her sweddish! long live the PRINCESS !!
Frida is a beautiful woman with many talents but she didn't have half the voice of Agnetha's perfectly placed soprano. Melody and brilliant arrangement and a lot of tech help from Les Paul and Mary Ford with reverb was ABBA's secret, if there is one. They gave generously and in a heartfelt (naive) manner, which endured them to almost all who heard their sound. [end part 1].
Wow, no one with any knowledge of singing and vocal performance would say that Frida was an inferior singer to Agnetha. Agnetha, while having a beautiful voice, never had the versatility of Frida.

Funny no Frida leads are featured here, it seems that Agnetha's voice, sound, bottum and face will be remembered most of all
