could well be i think its just all a pre recorded message from earth telling him about the events that have taken him to this point but i could be wrong over all its an amazing movie one off the most amazing ive ever seen and really makes you think about life

reason he is stuck up there is because were told some shit is going on down on earth and the people on the ground cant bring lee back down so he is stuck up their and we then find out that lee is the last one left the rest of mankind has been wiped out thats why he doesnt get any reponse from them and is left up their for 7 years as time goes buy and his life support runs low he thinks about leaving the station and floating back down to earth as he would rather die down their or going down their

i have this on dvd and seen it a few times now the whole concept behind this film is human connection and how as beings we need human connection and love to live and keep us sane as without as we see with lees character we feel alone isolated and stuggle to stay sane which is shown when he sees the pictures of previous astrounonts of the space station he uses these pictures as comfort and starts to imagine them as people and has conversations with them as he goes into deeper isolation. the whole

This movie has changed my life for the better. 28 yr old musician/singer of the band The Astronaut. Ironically the astronaut character in the movie and his isolation i can relate to. At times i feel disconnect from the world as do many other who can relate. Movie has showed me there is more to Life and to Live and Love. Thank you Tom. Just watched, blown away by the concept. Beautiful visuals, as well as an awe-inspiring tale of LOVE. I think because Lee is the "Soul Survivor" everything in history was "uploaded" per se, into his SOUL (data-base). & @ the end the God-like voice explains to him that he was the final survivor.. therefore he is also the "beginning" of a whole new Universe powered by the LOVE of GOD!

For the record it's about god, religion, heaven etc. Tom found Jesus when he quit drugs and this is his masters thesis about the redeeming power of faith. Hatred = war = death = loneliness. Only cure for loneliness? Love. Love comes through religion, which in this case more literally means dying, going to heaven, and being surrounded by the souls of ever human to ever live. Which is the reason we strive to love each other in the first place. All this according to Tom and the director, not me.

What Was the whole point of the movie?

Whats was the Message of the movie?

What was that huge building in outer space? and why was it there?

How was this movie suppose to touch me?

Why did they Leave him In outer space?

@CrazyLunaticGamer I think its like a whole new different way to express himself instead of music and that everyone needs someone, if there is no human contact/ 'love' then you start to go crazy. The building was the space ship thing at the beginin holding records of like the last of the human civilisation. I dont know how its meant to touch you, i guess its just your own personal feelings from it. The end is just the ultimate mind-fuck, i really dont get it :') Hope i helped, tried my best :p

@CrazyLunaticGamer 1 & 2) I think the point of the movie was to comment on how humans by nature need to interact and connect with each other, as stated by the old man "if people stopped talking, sharing stories, relating, etc. the world would be a terrible place." The message is the same, we as people need to connect and relate to each other. In the movie Lee is so isolated and yearns to connect with other people that he begins to imagine and talk to the people in the polaroids he found.

@CrazyLunaticGamer 3) The huge build in itself housed all information about every human in that server room but as to why it was there I can't be certain; if you listen to the God-like voice at the end then you could say that He caused the building to go to Lee because he states "I am so excited to meet you!"

4) I think you're meant to take your own sentiment from the film. The great thing about a film like this is if you watch later in your life you may pull something different than before.

it's quite a trickey film to follow! i got the impression he could be going mad but i think it leaves it open to interpretation. He could very well possibily be the last person alive and all these "memories" happen to be stored in one gicantic computer but i got the impression he was god and he was everyone and everything at the same time but didn't realise it!

@CrazyLunaticGamer 5) Quoting the voice at the end "You are the last one Lee" and the mission control message towards the middle which says "We've got some stuff going on down here, we don't have the man power to bring you back right now, just sit tight." I think it's safe to assume that events occurred on Earth that killed everyone (Nuclear War perhaps). Since Lee was in space while these events occurred he was spared but left stranded.
