  • beautiful.

  • This woman is sampled on many hip hop tracks, props to her, beautiful voice.

  • Also used during a funeral scene in the film 'Kinky Boots'; the hero's dad had died and previously as a boy he'd been told off for dancing in a pair of red platform shoes belonging to his mum - 'The Prettiest Star' plays in that flashback scene.

  • @blewis9505 Thank you for that information, more sad story on Nina but thank goodness she has a daughter who appreciates and carries her name. I have not checked her out because I didn't know it. Yours is the first response I have gotten from youtube, came to my email box. Thanks again for sharing.

  • I believe Nina had a daughter who uses the same last name and is a performer, does anyone know of this or any particulars on it?

  • @Juliebaker1 Her daughter's birth name is Lisa Stroud. Nina's former husband and manager was Andy Stroud who was abusive and a thief who stole her money and horribly mismanaged her career. Lisa chose to be known professionally as Simone in tribute to her mother.

  • Nina Simone was quite simply the best diva ever. She could transform any song into a magical experience. There will never be another singer with her depth, sensitivity, and sheer class. Yes, she could be sassy. But it is her music I revere, not her faults. RIP, dear one.

  • I don't think it's Nina Simone on the cover...

  • Probably the best love song I've ever heard - one of those "once in a lifetime" master-pieces. Quite beautiful.

  • Life as such since 2000 has become such BOREDOM worth dying for. If only to capture Ms Simone's notes where they belong...in the wind.
