  • what a phoney...all these contemp artists...espeically jew artists like schnabel...are the product of pack of jew promotionalists and bought by heeb con-men like Cohens, Steve Wynn (mobster gamblng house jew), saatchi (advertising jew) and other evil butt heebs. his art will be worth about 1/1000 of current value w/i 20 years

  • @fefferohossen Getting better ...keep trying. it's "it's" not "its" you illiterate moron. Seems you know as little about elementary school level spelling as you do about art.

  • I gotta see this guy surf!

  • @idfixed2008 nah..he's just a phoney heeb...most of art industry is nothin but marketing by jews...it'll all be worth nothing in 10 years

  • kill your idols, huh? sounds like he's read too many zen books. a lousy, untalented painter. stick with painting the shrimp boats ...

  • @catandpiddle your an asshole!

  • @catandpiddle your an asshole!

    stick to killingyourself ...

  • @fefferofhossen it's "you're", not your. it may be a good idea to learn to spell before posting, no? iife is good, thanks!

  • @catandpiddle

hows this you'r you 'er your a fucking asshole!

  • @catandpiddle.. Art is Gods way of exposing cesspool minds who are against anything noble. The only valid criticism of the artist, is their own, most severe critic. Anything else is swine-like against pearls.

  • @104Kojack Oh dear ... nobel is it? I'll remind myself of that the next time I see one of his dreadful works. For your information; the Julian Shnabel's , David Sale's et. al. or 'the school that couldn't paint' of this world have a common dictum; 'art is whatever you can get away with' if you'll allow a few swine to be cast your way ...

  • oh, the simple rustic beginnings brings a tear to my eye

  • Robert Hughes lays waste to Schnabel

  • Julian is a great artist.

  • ANDPRY, you seem to have a lot of knowledge as to what it takes to be considered a big zero. Do you speak from experience?

  • zero content- zero depth- zero knowledge, zero culture- zero talent, zero compassion- very bloated and very unpleasant

  • @ANDPRY what you just wrote reflects your comment

  • I really admire Schnabel, and he is absolutely correct when he says you must kill your idols. He displays a wonderful work ethic in the bit about having 'earned' a good sleep, as well. Somewhat restrained here, I have seen some interviews where he comes off as a 'bloated gloat', but Schnabel possesses a vital & paternalistic demeanor when it comes to his work, as all great artists who birth their work from deep within must. Not so easy to set it free to face the slings and arrows of critics.

  • this guy is all wrong. the point of art is not to destroy the standards before you. destruction is not the goal of art. how has he managed to make good films with such a perverse view?

  • you didn't get the message, along all those who criticise him as an artist or videomaker. and it is sad cause he doesn't hide his thought behind courtains of ampty eloquence

  • yea, I didnt get it. the message was wrong, so i disregarded it. I would be more worried if I was one who"got" that message. and i think his films are pretty great for the most part.

  • I`m guessing it didn`t fade fast enough....you read it.

  • His plate paintings & films are the only thing valid.

The map paintings + all else will fade like fog.

  • just like your posting here.

  • friggin genious

  • If you are interested in Schnabels work. I highly suggest reading his book CVJ. It is full of stories about him and his life, amongst all the stories is a great one about Brice Marden. In it you really see how much he respects other artists.

  • I heard this guy was a douche.

  • Aren't you a fucking authority.

  • the dude abides

  • thats fucking genius. If I understand it correctly its a swiss fuckin watch

  • @slamirez86 oh yeah? he does? well that's just like your, y'know, opinion, man.

  • somebody explain to me what he meant on advice????it was confusing on advice/

  • he is talking about how new artists are always breking or moving away from the conventions and standards of the older artists.....so if one takes that as true then it is meaningless for older artsts to give advice to the younger artists

  • He basically meant that as an artist you should always be trying to do something new. Don't imitate old stuff be open minded and always try to do something different and interesting.

  • thats dumb. being "new" is not a value in itself. your goal should be to make something worthwhile, not different.

  • dont forget basquiat

  • are those glasses from the `cheese vision` series

  • "Then i had a job as a mover. so one day i'm working in a kitchen packing all this china in a box and i dropped it. shit! but i looked down at all the broken plates on the floor..and i thought, hmmmm..."

  • lol
