They killed the dog while i was brought to the hospital. I'm pretty sad that my dog had to suffer, but today i'm terrified of big dogs. If you have a dog and it suddenly got rabias, you would be forced to kill it, but yu wouldn't hate it would you?

I do not enjoy movies like this at all. If the end is about someone who looks mentally ill, hitting a dog over the head several times with a baseball bat then I doubt the start and middle of the movie is any better. And as a dog owner myself, I do not approve. But sure, it's just a movie - based on something fucking sick. This movie might be one of the 100000 fucking reasons people are afraid of "bigger dogs".

@madsen8888 Yes this movie is partially a cause of fear towards big dogs, but another cause is their size. People like small things, that's why some people are terrified of sharks, elephants, and horses.

This movie depicts a dog going rabid and mad. Which happens, it happened in Old Yeller(minus killing people).

Rabid dogs and animals can and have killed people, this may be slightly exaggerated, but within a few days a dog or any other animal CAN end up being that aggressive.

@madsen8888 Oh and she was defending herself from a dog that was trapping her in a car and causing both her and her son to slowly roast n the heat and die of hunger and thirst, not to mention each time she tries to escape she gets wounded by the dog and is dying of blood less. Any loving mother would fight for their child, and often times they would kill.

Replace the dog with a rabid bear instead and the situation would be no different. She'd still have been trying to kill it.

The movie is a classic in my opinion. Along with Ben and Willard(the two movies about killer rats) and Jaws, and a few of those other killer animal ones.
