"Some college kid (you've) never heard of" may be the next great stud of the NFL. I think college football blows the NFL out of the water in terms of excitement and fun, but that's just my opinion.

When I first heard of this, I could not believe that ASU could beat Michigan at their home stadium. It was unbelievable, this will probably always be the biggest upset in all of sports history.

Division I-AA is called the FCS (Football Championship Series), that's what Appalacian State is a part of. They're still Division I, just AA... they got the national championship that year, too (once again, in I-AA)
No, All the way back to 1930's App State has been D-I, sorry for being so brash, it just drives me nuts that football fans cant figure this out. FBS teams never play D-II teams. FCS teams to schedule D-II teams now and then though.
Why did the App. St. coach leave :30 seconds on the clock when Michigan had one time-out? Why not try to run down the clock and force UM to use their final timeout?

I-A is the FBS (Football Bowl Series) with teams like Georgia Tech, USC, Oregon, Texas, etc.
Division I-AA is called the FCS (Football Championship Series), that's what Appalacian State is a part of. They're still Division I, just AA... they got the national championship that year, too (once again, in I-AA)

Why did the App. St. coach leave :30 seconds on the clock when Michigan had one time-out? Why not try to run down the clock and force UM to use their final timeout?

Ok, so even though Michigan called their last timeout with :30 left on the clock, ASU kicked a field goal on 1st and goal.
This gave UM plenty of time to march down the field and they were able to get passing interference from ASU. Then ASU blocked a UM field goal to win the game. ASU got real lucky ! If you can't see this, then you are (not ur) a moron !
