Their personalities weren't supposed to be the same, shadow was supposed to be angrier, have a darker story. They're not alike AT ALL, besides that they can both run really fast.

To be perfectly honest I hate Shadow. Or to be honest, I hate his background. They did a masterful job of setting up this surprisingly deep character in Sonic Adventure 2 and then he dies poetically at the end. Brilliant. UNTIL THEY BROUGHT HIM BACK LIKE RETARDS. @MrFloppyFish Actually, he was brought back in Sonic Heroes, where Rouge and Omega at first thought Shadow was just a clone, but Omega explained to Rouge that the Original must exist somewhere, cause you can't clone a person if you don't have the original person, right? Besides, Eggman told Shadow at the end of his game, that He WAS the original, cause he sent his robots to go rescue him(Duriing SA2), and tries to clone him, and IMO, that's good, cause I don't want Shadow gone, he's BADASS!
