  • what stock do you have on you draco????

  • Wat us palm top hand guard is compatible with a bushnell trs-25 red dot?

  • What kind of money would I be facing if I wanted to build that exact rifle? That is one AWESOME setup !!

  • @wickedquick333 With the $200 tax stamp you're in the $1500 range.

  • What buttstock do you have on the draco?

  • is that the same rail that arsenal offers from the factory on their sgl-21 "tactical" ?

  • Damn why wouldnt it work on a Yugo? Im about to get me a Yugo Ak...what a bummer.

  • @rajvosa71000 They make one for a yugo too. Its like $10 more than this version. They have them on CTD for around $115

  • @RaytheonPwnsYou thanks for the info, I just found it..now all I would have to do is get the top cover for the aimpoint.

  • @Sturmgewehre

Do you know if those will fit on Maadi's? I have a 1995 Maadi RPM that I am looking to add rails to and this setup seems solid.

  • @lighthammer2531

BTW, its Intrac is that helps...

  • @CitizenCrimefighter

If I am not mistaken those are Low Profile Rail Covers and I know Magpul makes them.

  • might have to get one.

  • would the vortex strike fire fit this system?

  • @THEAMK1000 Yes, it would.

  • Is that a folding stock or fixed stock on that AK with the rail system? Either or, what model and company makes it?

  • I've heard that the MI Rail clamps on the gas tube/barrel and decreases accuracy...what do you think?

  • @somedirtyangel I've noticed no difference in the accuracy of the 3 rifles I have the rails on.

  • @Sturmgewehre That's really good news to me. So how many yards are you shooting out at? And what is your grouping?

  • I have a bullpup AK47... can you install the top cover without the hand guard?

  • @MrSeeker2013 No, But I think you can install a ultimak. with the bullpup rifle you don't have to have a tube sight so a eotech would work.

  • Hey man great videos, well done keep it up. MORE AK VIDS

  • Great video!!!! Great rifle!!!! Now you need to show it some love after that but whippin. Would the Aimpoint be to high with standard AR mount on the standard MI top rail? I know you wont be able to co-witness, but would be fast to remove. The reason I ask is I have a chance to buy a Aimpoint M2 for $275otd and was looking at this set up. thanks

  • @Sturmgewehre

Great review! I'm glad to see that the US PALM rail fits the Draco SBR, that is a mean looking rifle. Have you found that the bolt on rail messes with the accuracy of the barrel? How is the accuracy on your Draco out to 200m?

  • Comment removed

  • Great video, I'm going to add the MI system to my SLG 21. Thanks for the info.

  • I've heard that after shooting larger volumes of fire (500-700 rounds) the mounting system expands from the heat of the steel barrel. The barrel expands slower then the mount because it's aluminum, and wobbles a bit until it cools back down. A. have you run into this? B. If you have, when it cools, is it still zero'ed?

  • Another great video, thanks for posting and for especially doing the drop tests on the setup. By chance does anyone know if this mount will also fit the Aimpoint Patrol Rifle Optic (PRO)? And if so will it also co-witness? Thanks!

  • Finally, a true QUALITY quad rail for a ak, for years we had to live with shit utg, crapco, and ati rails. Its priced right too for around a 100 bucks, thats cheaper than most quad rails for ar 15s, and only a few bucks more than the utg pos

  • Great review! Need to do a review on the chest pouch you are wearing. Is it the US Palm Attack Rack?

  • @tongo382

Yup, it's a US PALM Attack Rack. Great rig, IMO.

  • @Sturmgewehre Is it possible to use a standard ak hand guard with a the US palm top rail

  • I dig the into and the music dude, oh and the SBR looks like a pretty sweet setup too :)

  • I am literally blown away by the very first video of yours I have watched(Midwest Industries US PALM ML2 AK Rail)!!!! You have got my sub and I will be promoting your channel, with your permission, to friends along with a video on my channel. Thank you for your EXCELLENT Effort!!!!

  • A little off topic, but who makes your hat? I really like it.

  • @Guns4L1fe

It's a Blackhawk Spec Ops cap. I bought it through Midway USA.

  • right now iv been wanting to buy an ak74, i looked at the one on atlantic firearms and then i found a better deal on a century arms bulgarian ak74, do you know if these are the same guns and if so have you had any problem at all since you did your review, oh and great vids when i do buy my ak your reviews are what im going to use to make it my own

  • lol Do that with someone's AR, you're liable to get shot. :P

  • Hey man I love your channel, but do you mind if I ask is this what you do for a living how do you afford all the weapons and optics you test.......I am just jealous that's all.

  • Dude, where is your HK 416 review. Anxiously awaiting.

  • @yuy96

I have a couple of other things I have to do first, but here in a couple of weeks I'll have it done. I might be able to get it done sooner, it depends on the weather really... since I do a lot of my stuff outside in the summer.

  • @Sturmgewehre Very well sir. Your review on the SCAR 17 pushed me to buy it and no regrets there. Waiting on the thumbs up from you before I hit the buy now on a MR556 on gunbroker.

  • Do you prefer this setup to the RS-AKM mount? I

  • @Reapers261

I like them both for two different reasons. The RS Products mount works with rifles that have a left hand accessory rail. The MI hand guard works with rifles like my Draco that don't have the accessory rail. I'm torn between which I prefer. They both have their advantages. If you want more than a sight mounted, you'll need the MI rail. If you just want a RDS, the RS Products might be the way to go.

  • Great job, as usual.

  • Great Review...You are the man when it comes to AK and MI....

    Glad You're doing them...since I don't have one.....LOL

    But Seriously...Outstanding job as always....

Hey...that wasn't your Favorite Rifle you just beat up...was it....LOL

OMG....Not sure I would do that with my ARs...to do one of my vids...LOL

    Again...Great Vid....

Will ad it to my Favorites....

    Target On....E1

  • @ETHRON1

Yeah, it's one of my favorite rifles... but it's an AK. Plus, there's something special in the future for the Draco... I won't say too much, but it involves Krebs Custom. Once that's done, the rifle won't be getting tossed around. I'll have to buy another Draco to SBR for a beater gun.

  • @Sturmgewehre

    I think I know what it is....LOL

I remember what you said about them in another vid....SSSHHHHH! I won't say anything...LOL

    Again Great Vid....

    E1

  • I'm a huge fan of your AK videos. Thanks for your work. BTW, what chest rig are you wearing in this video?

  • @Hutehund

Thanks. The rig is a US PALM Attack Rack. You can buy it for a great price from Atlantic Firearms.

  • I have a Saiga style AK-47 . Any idea if this would fit ?

  • @frankgon4

It won't fit I'm sorry to say.

  • @Sturmgewehre That's a bummer for some, I'm sure. I got an e-mail a while back from Troy at M.I. saying the alternate PALM rail -- the "optic specific package" (for micro dot variants) would install fine on Saiga Ks; but with a larger gap at the rear. It surprises me that this 30mm package won't do the same.

  • @TheSoundBarrier

I would ask Troy. Perhaps I'm mistaken.

  • I love your Drako SBR setup, but that AFG puzzles me greatly. Is the AFG there for testing, and do you find it actually useful in your shooting? I have one and use it to shoot TOB when appropriate, but it seems out of place on such a short system. Thoughts?

P.S. damn I love that rifle.

  • Who makes the folding buttstock on the AK in the intro to the video?

  • Another excellent review for the AK faithful.

  • We are glad here in the land of Alexander the Great and of ΜΟΛΩΝ ΛΑΒΕ that your videos are so "to the point"! Keep it up you are doing a GREAT job!

  • @CaptainAndreas

Thanks a bunch, and I thank you for watching.

  • I love your no nonsense approach to your testing. You point out pro's & con's, the good, the bad and the ugly. It's this unbiased approach to your testing that makes me come back to your channel all the time to see your testing of new products. And because of this testing I also bought that same mount for my 74 {the regular one with the strikefire dot}. Keep up the great work!

  • @Wraith35

Thanks, I do appreciate it and thanks for watching.

  • Stg, The "negative pros" are commonly called cons.

  • Like your chest rig what is it? thanks

  • @efrol1

It's a US PALM Attack Rack. One of the best rigs out there for the AK.

  • no problem with the video overall though. always awesome.

  • the big problem with these rails including this one, ultimak and pretty much all the others is cleaning the gas tube. especially when you want to clean after using corrosive ammo. the problem is you have to go through hell in a handbasket to get the rails off then clean the rust out once youve take 12-20mins just to get it apart. I have really no use for them.

  • @YOWHATTHEHELLUP71

Actually, there is no need to remove the gas tube to properly clean the AK rifle, even if you're using corrosive ammo. I'll make a video here soon to show you how to properly clean an AK and why it's not necessary to remove the gas tube to do it.

  • @Sturmgewehre hey that would be great. Im just wondering how your gonna get in there that well with out taking her off

  • @YOWHATTHEHELLUP71

First, corrosive salt dissolve almost immediately when exposed to warm water. It washes them away. I use warm water and a 12ga bore swab to clean my gas tube from the rear (from the receiver end). You can use a 12ga bore brush too if you choose. I then dry the rifle with Gun Scrubber and compressed air, spray the rifle in lube (generously) then blast it again with compressed air. Fast, easy and effective.

  • @Sturmgewehre that makes alot of sense. you gotta dry it out or that water will rust it up, ive had that problem before.

  • @YOWHATTHEHELLUP71

Gun Scrubber displaces water (as does WD40). Compressed air dries the gun. After you spay the rifle with a good lube, the compressed air blows it into every nook and cranny. I've been cleaning rifles like this for decades without issue.

  • You keep putting great videos out one right after the other, you rock man.

  • Aw... poor ak....

  • @driftinsti i know, thats not an ak, thats a akr. it takes away from the gun and it just a pain to deal with over all.

  • @YOWHATTHEHELLUP71 i know its not an ak. But since i didn't know the exact name i just called it an ak because its an AK variant. I mean there are millions of clones, variants out there and i'm not about to memorize all of them.

  • @driftinsti lol thats not what i meant... i was jokin around

  • @YOWHATTHEHELLUP71 Oh....lol

  • @YOWHATTHEHELLUP71 i dun really know much about aks. I'm more familiar with AR variants but i've recently decided to get an ak. I'm not too sure which brand though. Arsenal looks like a good company.

  • @driftinsti askt the guy on this vid lol, he'll point you in the right direction. I would suggest CAI for cheap

  • Nice review. This has become one of my favorite shows, TV included!

  • @aries14482

    Thanks. :)

  • I like my UTG side sliding mount for $25 and works great.

  • @SRCDLC I have the UTG side mount too and it does funtion fine with my red dot sight but it does not allow you to co witness with the iron sights and that could be pretty important.

  • @yborzenko Yeah I agree with you and woud like to have that feature, but its so easy to slide it out to have the iron sigths available and the cost $25 can't be beat.

  • Great video, thanks for the intel.

  • Great review. Not really my thing (I keep almost all my red dots on QD mounts so....).

BTW Love your Marine Corp honor guard rifle spin at 5:55. FAIL!!!! LOL.

    Cheers.

  • That's about one of the best outfitted Draco's I've seen. I have one and would just love to put a stock like yours on it....but can't because in my state, the gubment says I will end up going postal or something once that stock is attached. Better safe than sorry...Thanks gubment.

  • As always another great review, good job man.

  • @Oaktree406

    Thanks for watching.

  • The twist throw was great!! lol

  • Wow brother, you really turned that lil draco into a handy rifle...freaking motivating vids....Keep em coming Teuful Hunden!!

  • Love the chest rig, you have a great show.

  • I like that alot. I need to get one for my ak rifle and when i do the SBR on my Draco i like that way you have that set up. I will pry do something similar.

  • How does this compare with the last rail you reviewed from rsregulate . com ??

  • @MARINE1146

They both are of good quality and work quite well. It's a matter of personal preference really. I do like the fact the RS rail mount can be quickly removed, but how often would I really need to do that? Ideally I would place the Aimpoint somewhere in between the RS location and the MI location, and I might have a product that does that well that I will be reviewing shortly. But both are very solid systems and I'm torn between which I prefer.

  • Thanks for sharing.

  • Could you review a AG-3 or some other G3 variant?

  • I honestly think the ruskies military could learn a thing or two from us "capitalist pigs" on how to modernize an AK and make it look damn sexy at the same time! Very nice product.

  • forward mounted optics is not ideal especially for a carbine like the AK. front heavy as it already is...I'd prefer a rail on the top cover that will allow me to co-witness. Although people will argue that the top cover is not sturdy enough to hold zero...there are proprietry mount like krebs and texas weapons rails. Altho the rear site is slightly raised compaired to the front...plus weight...still a none starter for me. I own the krebs 1st gen rail system and it's not worth the money.

  • It looks nice! Is the rifle as tested a SBR rifle? I have a Norinco Type 56S.

  • @ammosmith

Yes, it's a SBR built on a Romanian Draco pistol.

  • nice review.. more power.. and keep up the good work..

  • very cool to have a set up to actually cowitness with your iron sights on an AK platform

  • I do have a question sir... I have never heard of a Draco Ak-47 could you maybe elaberate a little on that and on where I could maybe buy one ie web site etc.

  • @Shadowhunter712

Just use Google to search for "Draco AK". It's a AK-47 pistol that, in my case, I've converted to a rifle by registering it with the federal government as a SBR (short barreled rifle). I have all the info about the rifle and how to go through this process in my videos.

  • @Sturmgewehre Awesome Sir thank you for the info:) I will be sure to do that!!

  • @ Sturmgewehre

How many aks do you actually have?

  • @Konflict7993

    Don't know, but it's not enough. :)

  • I'm gonna buy one of these for my draco! Thanks for the review brother.

  • so glad you toss your weapon around so others don't have to. great vid, nice rifle!

  • Now they just need to make it QD.

  • How you liking the angled foregrips?

  • @DieselMcBadass

I do like them. On the MI rail (or any AK) that gets hot with heavy use it helps to shield your hand from the heat. It's not as aggressive as a vertical forend grip.

  • @Sturmgewehre

How would you compare it to a standard vertical grip, Better, less confortable, same?

  • @DieselMcBadass

I use more AFG's than I do vertical grips. I do use a Knights vertical grip on my M16 (configured as an M4) because it gives me more control on full-auto. But for my semi-autos I like the less invasive profile of the AFG. It gives me good control and an improved grip. The angle feels more natural to me than a flat grip.

  • After I watched your previous review of the RS AK 30MM mount I was so impressed I ordered that. This rail mount is out of my price range and besides I just don't need all that extra rail space.

  • @FixWithFirepower

The RS Products mount rocks. I think you'll be quite happy with that mount system. The Draco doesn't have a left side rail mount so I have no other choice but to use a system like the MI/US PALM on it.

  • random question but how do you get the case neck tight enough around a .223 bullet without crimping, since my bullets dont have cannelures?

  • Excellent review!!!
