Beautiful song - thank you for writting it. My husband says I am playing it because I like "what the women can do to your soul", but he got it all wrong - I like it because "you won't let me down, because I am already standing(firmly!) on the ground".
Jack my friend it,s been a long time Since those days in Tucson at My House When you taught me how to play this here beautiful song. Long may you run Brother !
Can we call from here for a CD release of Tempchin's first album + best (peaceful easy feeling - the best of Jack tempchin) and the great Funky Kings s/t LP with some extra tracks!!!! Isnt it time?
Jack, you are an amazing man. I saw you a year or two ago with Tim Flannery in Encinitas (not sure I spelled that right) It was a privillege to see and hear you perform
This is great! I heard him play it live on the radio a few weeks ago. Fantastic! Always been a fan. I've got the Funky Kings on vinyl somewhere too. Is that Tim Flannery in the red shirt?
I am with you odey9999 - Funky Kings is among my most favorite LPs- amazing so few have heard it! Singing In The Streets is my favorite anthem-- I keep hoping I can talk Yoko Arimichi and her Powell Street Blues Band into covering it! She would be a natural and I know she can sing it!
I still have my original vinyl of the Funky Kings. Great record... Met Jack through mutual friends thirty( THIRTY???) years ago and shared some "herbal refreshments" with him outside the bar where I was playing in Albuquerque, and where Jack and a couple of the Kings were listening to us( and seemed to enjoy our music) Jack seems to have gotten old since that night... No wait, just looked in the mirror; so have I...Nice to see that I'm not the only Funky kings fan still alive.
