Family Therapy Session with Dance/Movement Therapy

I'm a psychology student and I would like to understand what are exactly the objectives of this intervention? what is the family doing? I would like to know. It seems fun, but what is the point of it? Thank you!

@argiaoriana Well I am a student of social work myself: Use the scientific method and what do you see? A family activity that is organized. The activity itself or game does not have a competive quality. There is no score, yet the family is having fun by controlling this blanket like object. Are the kids having fun? are the parents happy to see that? those are some of the things we look at as social workers, maybe syou see somthing different.

@Danilomurillo1 yes and sorry if I was vague and left it for you to figure it out, but our doctrines vary to a degree. Psychologist are more tune to the psyche and I have no clue what you might see. I do see that the internvention process is right there. Giving parents and activity that is fun and eases the stresses of the family, while making it possible for the therapist to observe and mold the family dynamics.

THank you for your comment. I personally have not but our ADTR who is in this video may have. We are the first in Iowa to offer this therapy. There are literally no creative arts therapy programs in our state. We are the first practice and agency to start to offer this. It there is any insight or advice you can give it would be much appreciated. We were very lucky to have our ADTR joins us and provide this therapy. Our families love it!
