@clippertea yeah I agree. I'm amazed how many features lacking from the mpc1000 basic os that were available on my old s2000. Couldn't believe it doesn't come with keygroups as standard.
@clipperteaPlaying guitar might also be considered "behind the times", since I can emulate that with a computer, but I'm certainly not giving that up anytime soon. The only thing that pissed me off about the MPC was the lack of ADSR. That exclusion prevented me from truly loving the MPC. With the JJOS, use the MPC in addition to an 18trkHD multitracker & a room full of synths. With that combo, I have little need for a computer aside from transferring my music for mastering & to the internet.
Thats true! But remeber that the MPC original did stand for Midi Productio Center. The sequencer has been upgradet big time in the last machines. But JJOS takes this machine from a regular drum machine and makes into a Music Production Center (which MPC stands for now ;-) )
u said you took that project from a keyboard. how do u do that and then put it onto ur mpc and have the pads play it as if it was a midi keyboard controller itself?
i guess the question is, how do extract an entire set of keys. for instance. if i go to my electric keyboard and hit 112, it'll load an electric bass. how can i get all of those keys (up to 64 anyways [16pads X 4banks]).
Basically I want to assing like Middle C of the Electric Bass to pad 10, and B to 9, D to 11. etc. see what i mean?

@milpen75 and this is why we should not support Akai pro. they are surviving off an incomplete legacy.

sure - but some people have more use for the unique stuff the MPC offers than the features you mentioned.
