Love this flick. Could not shake it for 4 days. So well done, like nothing ever before. Obviously there are alot of people out there who just are not going to understand or appreciate this flick but im just glad I found it. Truley haunting
i just watch this movie, so this is very fresh coment:
It is a movie that you can say if it is good or bad, its a hard movie to just "digest it". I feel extremely dizzy, and messed up, the camera is like a bird, a fucking spirit of Oscar. its freaking amazing, besides been one of the most beatiful movies i ever saw. This movie is so Noe, but at the same ime, it isint, in Irreversible its a amazing, confuse and shockin film, like this, but in a other way its completaly diferent
its not for everyone and i dont feel arrogant by saying that, but despite all chances, taking what i usually like in movies in consideration, i was blown away by this movie, such an interesting cinematography, i was really into it, so some of the scenes gave me the chills :O
too bad i cant unwatch it so i can watch it again like its the first time
ive never done drugs, but that must be what its like, haha, i mean, srsly
this movie and irreversable are masterpieces and i really like both but they make me fell kinda weird like if i just got rapped inside my mind but its still a good movie, but its not for everyone..
@buttchinchick you are probaly one of the people that say that theyr favorite movie is canguru jack and go to the pictures to watch dreamworks animation with the girlfriend.. now have a good day watching romantic comedys sir
I saw this movie yesterday when it premiered here in Finland. It was AMAZING! Most original film I've seen in years, especially compared to the crap that Hollywood keeps making. Also it was the first time in a while that I saw people leaving the theater during the film. Me, I'd give it 10/10. A must see when it arrives to theaters near you.
Yeah some people tend to do that to Gasper Noe's films. They just can't handle something different and shocking. In Irreversible I am sure he was trying to convey to the audience how violent and disgusting the act of rape is and he did it perfectly. Rape doesn't last a couple of seconds it can go on for many minutes and I am glad did it like that. I am looking forward to this film, because I found Irreversible to be a very emotionally intense movie.
@LOLURCATS Have you seen the film? There is nothing shocking in this movie. Actually, this is Gaspar Noe's less violent and disturbing film. People left in my theater because it was boring. I liked the movie, but it needs to be severely edit down!!!!!! Visual it's a masterpiece, but the story and acting is sub-par.
@MyLittleHero95 sry guy, but yeah its a very shocking movie, i dont know your standards on "shocking" movies, i think you didnt catch the idea at all, the movie doesnt need a rape scene to be "shocking", noe can do that with incest, spiritism, and a ghost camera. people left becuse they were impacient, this movie is no "entertainment" movie, people left beacuse of the endless amazing visual scenes that you pointed. If he edited the part of story and acting, all that will remain is the vusual
@MsTinriso I know the ideas of the movie very well. I'm a lot like Noe. I love dark, twisted humor - by the way that's how he described the movie during the Q&A.
uh its basically the little story from bleach. did anyone else catch on to that? About how the one character in maybe the first 3 episodes of bleach where her parents died in a car crash and it was just her and her brother but then her brother dies and is there to watch over her...
i think its great how Noe flouts on nowadays mainstream cinema and don't produce stupid bullshit like SAW or Avatar which really aren't that special! i mean gore and 3D Animation Movies, where did i see this before? Hmm like in 80% of todays movies! Nowadays producers are so uncreative and lazy like why else would they recycle all this stupid bullshit Action/ Horror movies from the 80's? Its good to have a producer like Noe who realizes his own ideas no matter whether they're commercial or not!
@kobathedread I really hope you're not saying that's the impression you get from this teaser? I also enjoy the last part of your sentence, "I shall wait until I see it before cementing that view". Sounds like you've already made your mind up frankly.
just watched the movie in theater in france, this is a real cinema experience. Go see it in theater if possible. Directing, Story, Sound design, visual effect = insane & genius combined. Maybe too long but you ve got to take it as the director wanted it, important to stay focused during the projection which lasts more than 2 hours and half ! Tight
A true master piece to me, the kind you see once every 10 years
saw this at sundance, heard it got picked up but they were going to cut out about an hour of it. some really awesome parts, also some very difficult parts.
last week i was in cinema watching avatar and i felt asleep after the half. the same with fucking inglorious basterds. so when is this movie coming out? i cant wait anymore !
@tokio471 if you fell asleep during inglourious basterds then you have cinematic attention deficit disorder. dont even bother with this film if thats the case
I saw this film at Sundance. I never know what to say about it. Heavy stuff, but still kind of facinating to reflect on. After the lights came on everyone sat there in shock haha. It could have been about 20 minutes shorter, but then again, I saw it at 8:30 in the morning after an hour drive so...
this film is absolutely brilliant!!! too long, in cannes it was about 3hours... but the stuff is for sure not everyday you'll see in the cinemas or festival.
For three f#ckin hours I was sitting in the cinema chair and shivering, totaly shocked, trying to hide my self away from the screen. It was a real nightmare. Now I know what is like to be dead.
Gaspar Noe is evil genious!!!!!
it is the most powerful movie I have seen in my life!
Just saw it in cinema tonight. Its absolutely insane, how this film works. I will be blown away for a while now - this sure is fil of the films in many ways, although im not even sure if it is a film, its something more.
Yea that is a shame,I'll look into the kino films option. Or if I'm lucky some version of it will pop up on ebay? Also, is there a english subtitled version available?
i bet itll be some crazy shit this guy is incredibly briliant, ive followed his work since "i stand alone", pretty sick movie, hope this ones too, been a while since his last film
apuesto a que va a ser una locura, este tipo es increiblemente brillante he seguido su trabajo desde "i stand alone" , algo enferma la pelicula, espero que esta tambien lo sea, ya paso un rato desde su ultima pelicula
It was a great film with outstanding visuals and sound. Though probably about 40 minutes too long, even though this cut was ten minutes shorter then the version played at Cannes running nearly 3 hours. My favourite of TIFF, but could have been a tighter film with more ruthless editing.
How to create the sound? I guess it´s the famous herz-level that makes people throw up or become seasick - combined with a shepherd tone or something - i mean like the phenomenon infinite descending' tone. I saw this at SXSW and was bored as hell. There was silence after the movie, and then people just left.
I felt like it needed to be cut down by like 2 hours. It had no story. Maybe if I was on acid myself, then it might be good.
As an experimental film, it failed. It should not have been 2 and half hours. It might have worked better as a 30 minute film.

How to create the sound? I guess it´s the famous herz-level that makes people throw up or become seasick - combined with a shepherd tone or something - i mean like the phenomenon infinite descending' tone. But i hope he is not once more taking advantage of such a cheap effect. It worked well in irreversible. Hope there is some new angle in his kind of stripped nihilism too.

And i must say that it was very curious sensation. The movie is hypnotic and camera movements are great.
But sometimes the violence or sex are used like free moments without links to others. A strange sensation so..

They played around with the sound pitch.
